some beautiful footage from the IMSA 12h at Sebring, a track renowned for its challenging bumps.
This footage isn’t just a treat for the eyes; it’s a practical lesson in vehicle dynamics!
One of the things to observe is a great demonstration of the vehicle showing itself to be an an over-constrained system. With four wheels, it has one more than necessary to manage its six degrees of freedom and maintain equilibrium.
Consequently, a bump affecting the vertical load at one wheel directly impacts the other three, creating a complex interplay of forces that influence the vehicle’s state.
This behaviour can be fine-tuned through adjustments to spring stiffness and damping rates.
Beyond sensor data, observing these dynamics in action really offers some profound insights into performance,
Reminding us that sometimes, our own eyes are the best tools for understanding the principles of vehicle dynamics. Don’t neglect them!

One thing that instantly pops out, the right front axle(the most sensitive part of the aero package on right turns) produces less downforce when the car goes over bumps. It's the combination of weight transfer, reduced aero load as the car runs over it's own tire wake, and less force on the contact patch as the heavy bump causes the car to skip across the road. Sunset is a fantastic corner to analyze from a dynamics perspective, really forces you to mind your racing line to avoid the biggest bumps. The entry to the corner is very fast which makes picking the right entry angle even more difficult. Good vid.

Great information, but the tic tok look is not the best way to present this. Id like to see you slow down and take time to explain the details with more intensity towards the exact moments, pause, zoom in, and provide the viewer a more complex overview of your intentions when watching video feeds. Both real-time and post. These tid bits of information are crucial for the laymen to understand, with your skill, knowledge, and presentations, you are a great choice for for this topic. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments @kwsin1337 and @ZedNinetySix_ - I initially recorded this for Social Media which is why it's a short one, but it seems this video has been received quite well, so i'll definitely look in to doing an 'extended play' for the next one. You make a good argument and i appreciate the encouragement - Jahee
