I once accidentally breathed in Host spores. I felt sick and thought some bed rest would help, but when I woke up I was in a hospital bed in Indiana. I had no idea where I was or how I got there. Apparently at the time I was influenced, I walked over 90 miles before I was found by some people who took me to the ER. The doctors strapped me down and locked me in the room so I wouldn't get out. As soon as I came to, the doctors did some tests and let me out. I called my mom and she went to pick me up. I don't remember much from when I was influenced. It was all a blur, almost like a dream, or a nightmare. The one thing I do clearly remember was a voice saying "closer" and "almost there" repeatedly in my head. I'm so glad I was found in time before I completed the journey. I'm now too paranoid to go outside without a gas mask or respirator on.

I love to think that The Host hosts parties with the mimics and every other Carnis creature. With dancing, “food,” all that good shizz.

Something I found out about the host, if you watch the cooking video you should know the food enhancer, in the video they say to use it below 60c, and what i found is mold spores die above that temperature and bellow -71c, I believe that the host is the one behind that food enhancer, controlling many people and feeding on them might cause the host to begin a new stages (like the Mimic) and/or cause the Host to reproduce much more like the meat snake

I appreciate that most of these creatures are able to coexist in a way. None of them are overpowered (except mimics :/), and they all exist the same way other dangerous plants and animals do. They're just newer and uglier. Very good concept. Also, no hate to the mimics ofc. They just felt more trope-y and overpowered when it comes to their evolution. This is one of my favorite series so far tho!

Couldn't someone just approach the host for pictures or whatever and then go to poison control? If it takes a while for symptoms to present and they're treatable, then yeah. Even if they don't get treated, you can just lock the person up for 36 hours and they'll go back to normal

This one is arguably the easiest to deal with. Just wear a gas mask or run your ass away and get treated or get someone to lock you up/cave your knees in and you're golden

You start to wonder, how do they know all this? A flash of an image of people in what appears to be a chamber filled with spores flashes on screen and I’m thinking there were a lot of experiments on civilians to find this information.

I've been infected by one of these mfs before, but my pet trimming named Meatball saved me. my friend said he ran up to him and started chittering urgently,I guess he figured out that something was wrong. I don't remember a lot from when I was walking to the host, but my friend said that when he arrived on the scene, I was barely more than 100 yards away from the host, he said he had to knock me out and drag me away to a hospital. Meatball has sadly passed away due to natural causes since then, he lived a long life for a clipping and he died happy, sometimes I still think of him. Respect for Meatball, guys. If not for him, I wouldn't be posting this rn.

For being a creature that is difficult to get info on, they sure do have a ton of info on it. Even down to how specifically long it takes for the spores effects to wear off.

The Crawl and related creatures is vaguely reminiscent to me of the Creep and the Zerg in the sense that it is a hostile alien presence that slowly consumes worlds. Analog horror using the Zerg in a similar way could be fun though there would be those pesky copyright issues.

Darian, SUCH A GOOD SERIES BRO! I hope the best, and honestly, one of the best analog horror series I have ever seen! You earned a sub, and I hope to continue seeing you develop this series.

(I know it’s fiction, I’m just suggesting potential advice to give in the vita carnis universe) If you feel the symptoms, you should try to get into a room and lock all doors. It may be tricky due to lack of coordination. Throw away the key. When the walk happens, it will take time for the walk to have you find the key and open the door. This will help the time span. Also move as far from the trash can as possible and move the trash can away from the door. This may help further. It might not save you but if will increase the chances of survival

This one is way better than the Mimic. I mean, I expected a man eater eventually, but these are so much cooler. I like how the Host is curable and how it can be dealt with realistically. The Mimic is my least favorite, but I will still assert that the cabinet scene with that hand was one of the best uses of a prop in a lay videographer's video I have seen in years. The fact that each finger was moved really, REALLY hit it home!

I'm re-watching all of these in anticipation/preparation of season 2!

Wouldn't the infected be impaired? Unless it's like a hypnosis/desire controlled by spores to get out anyway possible. Like an ant where when infected by a specific fungi. Will climb trees/plants that are high so that the fungi can breach the skull and spread more spores to infect others.

You can't get near it and you don't know where its at, but by golly you should avoid it at all costs. How... Helpful. ... So what happens when you ingest the spores instead? What if, say, there was a certain special spice meant to make things extremely flavorful... Weirdly, wouldn't leaving left overs attract Meatworms, which only feed on the dead? Is it not possible, that meatworms might frequent areas that have Hosts? Hosts don't move, and Meatworms don't do much moving either. And these meat creatures, change, when they consume a certain amount of things. Become "Elders", grow literal thicker skin (the maroon meat). What is an Elder Host look like? Does it like to cook things, or perhaps, influence others to consume spores?

The Host name is a bit of a double meaning as it hosts various spores within itself and also is the host of a victim's execution. However, because of how their eating habits, it isn't uncommon for a Meat Worm and a few Trimmings to be seen eating the leftovers.

Update on how to survive: go to Antarctica. If you have crops only have small ones that way you can see an egg. Make sure to wear a gass mask
