As a professional chef in fine dining restaurants for over a decade it all goes to the vitamix. I can't speak for other countries but every restaurant I've ever worked in has and lives and dies by their vitamix! I've literally never seen a blend tech in a commercial restaurant. Won't even go into what I think about that ninja. Well most of all longevity of product. I have my fathers machine at home from 1964. When I use that one and my new one from 2012 they make almost the same product. Now that's a real machine I did the math. About 2.5 pennies a day! I think we can all afford that! Haha ether way great review thank you!

+Douglas Mace ive had blendtec and im actually looking at these vids to make up my mind, you sir have helped me make my decision, as my blendtec blender died. i make lots pf butters and seems blendtec is powerful but vitamix stands better. right?? i dont care about the looks ive had mine since 2012 too but it died on october 2015

yes not that the blendtec is a bad machine it just doesn't handle certain tough items as well. I have found my Vitamix to crush my nut butters into a smooth texture with little effort typically in less than 45 seconds. I would recommend looking into the GFI thermal switch that is wired into all vitamix machines and not all other competitors machines. this feature ensures that your machine will cut its own power if it exceeds a dangerous temperature. this means it will not blow out or burn out its motor rather it will resume once it lowers past a safe operating temp. this comes in handy when primarily using machines for churning or ice cream textured items.

I'm a Vitamix man myself, however; another thing that the Blendtec has over the Vitamix is the square pitcher which makes scraping out frozen or thick concoctions much easier. IMO.

But vitamix container is the most effective design to draw all the ingredients to blade and blend everything with consistency. You can use aa specific spatula to scrape everything in vitamix even under the blade after blending.

Thanks for this. I just purchased a Vitamix 5200, and am very happy with it. I owned a Blendtec for more than 3 years, and recently I happily parted with it. The BT was a decent blender, but there were two major concerns: its inability to micronize certain food products, i.e, dates; and the frequent cavitation. I frequently had to restart or shake the BT container to get items to blend. Overall, I find the Vitamix a superior machine. This was an amazing demonstration. Thanks much.

I viewed many blender comparison videos on KZfaq, including yours, before I decided on a new Vitamix 750Pro to replace my old blender...may it rest in peace. I too like the count down feature you pointed out on the Blendtec, and I noticed in your video it also counts up on manual. A feature I would have liked to have on the Vitamix I purchased.

I don't understand why blendtec thinks being told to pick up and shake the blender is better than using a tamper. It's more irritating and does a worse job. A tamper gives you more control, hence why it's used.

Purchased my Vitamix 750 three weeks ago. I was leaning toward a Blendtec until I saw this video. The need for a tamper and no skipping around the table sold it for me. Haven't looked back since. Thanks for posting this as well as your other videos.

Why is it that every blender on the market uses Vitamix to sell their own machines but Vitamix does not use other blenders nor their names to sell theirs? This confirms that every blending company clearly sees the Vitamix as the top alpha dog.

I just started blending smoothies for now. Bought the blendtec for the theatrics as you say. Sits pretty on my countertop =) Chose it cuz it's cheaper than the vitamix, even though I wanted the vitamix. But regarding the kill switch, I just unplug it when I'm not using it. Watching this vid helped me make a more informed decision, thanks!

Exactly the comparison I was looking for. I live near Blendtec in Utah, the founder's grandson was my student in school and offered to get me a discount on a new machine, and I know a couple of executives at the company. However, today after watching this video I decided to buy a Vitamix Pro 750.

Hi James, thanks for watching. I 110% agree with you about Blendtec needing a Tamper Tool and a heavier base. I was glad to see Vitamix understanding their customer's needs and realizing that Blendtec has some features they could learn a thing or two from. It's definitely time for Blendtec to realize they could really use a Tamper Tool. At the end of the day it's about the customer's needs, not the company's ego. Used both several dozen times. Blendtec's poor blender container shape (square - preventing mixing), dull blades (they didn't even attempt to sharpen them!), and single speed - max (causes ingredients to JUMP and not rest at the bottom for blending) causes the end result to only come out 85% blended. Listen to the blender at the 9:00 minute mark and you can hear the smoothie jumping AWAY from the DULL blades for half of the contact time it has with them. Even the cheapest model of Vitamix has a High and Low setting so you can help blend better. good video dude

Thank U so much Monte for your awesome comments. The 6300 is an amazing machine. Well my M.O isn't about attempting to "Bash" a company's product but rather to bring awareness to consumers about the pros and cons of products, especially when it's a very low-priced clone of a leading machine that attempts to suggests that their cheap product is just as great as the high-priced leader. Blendtec however isn't a cheap Vitamix clone. You can't go wrong with either machine but there were some things that needed to be pointed out so my viewers will know exactly what they are getting. Great videos! My wife and I are buying the 6300 from Costco next month. If anyone has a Costco; the "road show," you can find their schedule online, is the best way to go. It has 3 pre-sets and is only $499. Your videos are some of the best I have found. The Ninja really gets called out!!!LOL Thanks again for your time and effort.
