My uncle, who died away many years ago, published this music video. The fact that this video has received millions of views is astounding. This, I suppose, is one of his legacies: allowing people all around the world to enjoy this beautiful piece of music. Vivaldi's Four Seasons are all fantastic. However, I believe Winter stands out because of the contrast between the stinging and urgent first movement and the smoothness of the tranquil second movement. This gem is one that could be listened to every day.

All Four Seasons by Vivaldi are brilliant. But I think Winter still stands out, with such a biting and exciting first movement and then the smoothness of the serene second movement in contrast. Indeed, one could listen to this masterpiece every day.

"Anyone with enough sheet reading knowledge can play it" bullshit. Having enough sheet reading knowledge means you can, surprisingly, read it. It's like a tonguetwister, reading it has nothing to do with saying it out loud. Playing it well is surely the next step, but managing to play it all is still a great achievement
@kingpotato98726 жыл бұрын
SteviaCookies, That’s what I said... If you can read sheet music, you can “play it”, in that you can play the notes, not at the right tempo, and you would probably be very off pitch. Probably it would be very hard to guess that it’s the correct song. I never said that you “could play it correctly”

Venetian Masks are so deep: Their art is amazing. I'm Venetian and for us Mask and Carnival are a very ancient tradition as the design of the masks, they are all handmade and the technique has been kept though centuries has passed away. The tradition of handmade has its origin in the old and great Venetian Republic, which history is still a proud for all Venetian people. We preserve all the tradition of this great republic like these masks. They could of course scare because they all embrace a single human feeling. I think that's because we recognize them as our true nature: our feelings. An Italian clever author, Luigi Pirandello, once said that our life is such a theater's sketch, a mask's play. Every day, in every situations we dress a different mask (for family, friends, job etc). Masks have a strong relationship with our true nature: so seeing many of them for example during the Carnival of Venice could really hit our soul, our memory, some of them could scary us, some of them are very hard to forget. The word "Person" comes from the latin term "Personam" which comes from an Etruscan word "Persuna". That term, along with the Greek Prosopon, both means the mask used by the actors in ancient times (it means "Masked man" in Etruscan). That's make thinking a lot.. I hope you all enjoy master Vivaldi's music!

I think there's a misconception in the world that orchestral music is considered bourgeois or sophisticated and I hate it. Composers of earlier times do the same thing as composers of this day and age; express something in the form of sound. Even though the cost of creating such performances was great, these composers weren't well off, they were just lucky enough to have their talent exposed to people who gave them a chance. The baroque and classical community may be flooded with psudo-intellectuals and no good connoisseurs, but the good composers who write this stuff have no flowery ideas about their writing. They are people who know how to feel, and I can hear the feeling vivaldi put into this. Please appreciate this music for what it can do, a persons lifetime is captured within these pieces and I think you can find new feelings in yourself when you listen to it.
@yialmighty21149 жыл бұрын
Though you are right, I don't find it disheartening or wrong that people find classical music sophisticated, I sometimes feel rather pleased that people feel that way not to say that only intellectuals are allowed to listen but in a sense to know that when you listen to this music it feels rather sophisticated I find that aspect quite beautiful, but I feel that you are right in certain points

This extraordinary music was considered to be very radical in it's time (1720s) the art of telling stories without words using amazing musical techniques that have a language of their own - absolutely beautiful!

As well as Beethoven's 5th symphony. I kinda feel that he (Beethoven) tells an history about love and regretting. At least, that's what i think. *Note: Both Vivaldi And Beethoven are (were) amazing songwriters.*

Just curious, as I don't run across women who appreciate Baroque era composers...are you aware of Yiruma? A south Korean composer. My favorite of his is Kiss the Rain...definitely a Baroque influence on his work.

3k dislikes? These 3 thousand people are the ones who dont know how hard this piece is to play and perfect. They don't have any appreciation for music nor musicians. I myself play the violin, and I cannot tell you how hard it is to play these Vivaldi pieces, none the less perfect it. If you don't appreciate music that is this good, get out of here.

Vivaldi pieces (especially Winter) is the reason I tried playing Violin and it is also the reason why I stopped. Because it was very difficult for me to learn how to play like that and I lost hope. It's just like I'm just meant to listen to it, not play it. Sigh...
@cindyzhuo47297 жыл бұрын
@I'mHungry Keep on trying, you'll get it! Use a metronome, and count, those make things easier for me. I know it's hard, I can't do it either, but you used to play the violin! Orchestra players are strong! Believe in yourself! If there's an orchestra in your school or something join. I believe in you, just like I believe in everyone.

»The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram; And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon; And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias; And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa; And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias; And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias; And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias; And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon: And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel; And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor; And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud; And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of The Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of The Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.« (The Gospel of Jesus Christ - Matthew - Chapter 1)
