What happens to coronary circulation after CABG, normally flow occurs in diastole but the CABG graft get flow in systole.?
@VivekSirsPhysiology
@VivekSirsPhysiology Жыл бұрын
There are many factors that determine the coronary blood flow. For instance, pressure gradient between aorta and coronary arteries. Coronary arteries arise at the root of the aorta, and the pressure gradient between the two is a determining factor. It will hold true even in the case of a bypass graft. However, in summary, the graft follows the same principles as those applied for the natural vessels.

With increased heart rate there are increased chances of subendocardial infarction right? Then during exercise heart rate is increased so can exercise lead to subendocardial infarction??
@VivekSirsPhysiology
@VivekSirsPhysiology 4 жыл бұрын
bilal hassan Yes. Precisely for this reason, a stress test is administered. So that, if there is an occult disease (ischemic heart disease) , it may come to the fore during the exercise test. Of course, that’s not the case with every individual. It would depend on the state of the coronary vessels, myocardial oxygen demand at rest and during exercise, etc.

why heart blood flow mechanism is different from coronary blood flow why there is more blood flow to aorta during systole but in coronary there id decrease flow why it is different?
@VivekSirsPhysiology
@VivekSirsPhysiology 4 жыл бұрын
Blood flow into any vassel would depend on the pressure gradient (P1 - P2), and the patency of the vessel. With start of systole, LV pressure rises, and the aorta is empty (and has low pressure). So blood is ejected out into the aorta. Coronary vessels arise at the root of the aorta and their flow is in the direction opposite to that of the aortic flow. So, during LV systole, blood is pumped into the aorta first, and then, as the diastole begins, some amount of this aortic blood goes down in the coronary vessels.
