This video is part of a Paper Mario TTYD Let’s Play series. Given that, you can expect to find the following in the video in some fashion: TTYD gameplay, THOUSAND-year door OST, paper Mario TTYD music, paper Mario: the thousand year door battle, paper Mario enemies, Super mario ttyd strategy, and paper mario thousand year door full game. Since this is a Thousand-year door letsplay, you could also consider it a paper mario ttyd walkthrough or thousand-year door guide. You won’t find much TTYD information besides what you see as face value.I’m no paper mario expert, mind you. Chuggaa holds that title. A note:
There are rumors of Thousand-year door on switch... specifically Thousand-year door remaster for nintendo switch... if thousand-year door on switch ends up a reality, I may move my playthrough of TTYD to the switch. Call it a TTYD switch switch. Maybe. It's all rumor-mill stuff anyway, and there's no guarantee TTYd on the switch will be a reality at all - less so in time for me to record Thousand-year door switch gameplay and commentary. No matter what, getting a thousand year door remaster for the nintendo switch would be a huge deal, and something I would cheer on mightily, so let's all cross our fingers for thousand year door on switch!

@@Awesomeflame16Its a masterpiece! King of Paper Mario RPGs. The remake fixed a ton of the smaller gripes but overall the gameplay was some of the best in the Paper Mario series being true to the turn based form. Only games I would say that top it in the Mario rpg universe would be the Mario and Luigi games since they have more charm put into them and wacky characters. TTYD was more serious and dark.

Agreed. She's relatable and very likable. She's my favorite partner in Paper Mario for Pete sake. Kind, warm, and adorable, who gets bullied by Beldam. As someone who had to deal with bullying, I can't help but feel bad to her and relate to her struggles. I just want to give her a big hug, and I love her as a character. Yeah, she means a lot to me.

I have to admit, i didnt like how both Marilyn and Beldam got redeemed at the end of the game, almost all of her interactions with Vivian (mainly Beldam because Marilyn barely talks) are belittling and insulting her and in other versions just straight up misgendering her but then they get off scot-free even after, you know, summoning a demon to cover the world in darkness forever

@@Surgemaster2012 yeah, the thing is that we barely know anything about her in comparison to Beldam and Vivian, was she just following Beldam's orders? Did she actually want to revive the Shadow Queen? Was she an asshole with Vivian or just Beldam was?

@@LPsLPs I definitely agree they deserved worst but jail probably wouldnt work because A) taking on account that Grodus and Crump, both of the people that did most of the job on reviving the Shadow Queen, are still fooling around and just Rougeport in general probably imply that there aren't a lot of jails and B) she could probably just teleport away since the Shadow Sirens could go from the moon to the Boggly Woods very easily

@@Roman-ik3cf Here's my head canon. I always saw Marilyn as someone who followed Beldam, not out of evil, but perhaps she didn't want to suffer the same as Vivian. During interactions between Beldam and Vivian Marilyn is just watching, like maybe she wants to say something, but either doesn't feel the need to or perhaps is too scared too. After all, in abuse cycles like this people typically tend to stay silent to avoid abuse themselves. I always say Marilyn as staying silent due to Beldam abusive behavior. Vivian was just always easier to pick on by Beldam because she's to he youngest, most naive and least willing to commit bad acts. Also she's trans as well. I think the ending could've wrapped up Vivian by having her and Marilyn reconcile, with Marilyn getting inspired by Vivian to stay up to Beldam, so she left two because after all since Vivian and Doopliss were both gone who would be left to take the grunt of Beldam abuse? Marilyn, abusers typically go for last one remaining when they don't have anyone else to abuse. It not only would've strengthen Vivian's ending, but it would be good for Marilyn's character too. Perhaps the main caveat being her talking more because she doesn't have to stay silent because Beldam is gone.

In the original Japanese yes they are intentionally misgendering her. In the remake she just says “It’s not as mysterious if you tell everyone we’re sisters”, cuz they intentionally made the remake less transphobic

I can't comment anything about Vivian's gender without having to aggressively hum the shadow sirens theme while reading through the gender war I caused all because I like the shadow woman character in the remake of a beloved GameCube game that got it's japanese dialogue retconned then changed back. He’s playing the OG for Gamecube, not the remake in this clip. The original english translation changed this conversation, but they changed it back(minus blatant transphobia) in the remake.

Vivian definitely deserves better. I'm not sure why she decided to stay with her sisters at the end but I'd like to think Beldam and Marilyn actually turned over a new leaf and saw the error of their ways and want to treat Vivian better. 🩷💜
