I’ll pray! I am going through a similar season, and this book (added of course to prayers and reading scriptures) is helping me : “Gospel- Recovering the Power that made Christianity revolutionary” (by JD Greear). (In case it could also be helpful for you :) ) I think God uses those times to teach us how to walk with Him and embrace His infinite love even more. Be patient, the Lord is faithful and so good:) 😊

Since I stopped backsliding, I've been finding modest clothing more attractive and immodest clothes less appealing. Find myself admiring Godly marriages as opposed to "casual relationships". Really enjoyed the vid😊.

I’m back on KZfaq watching modesty vids. I recently wore a dress to church that is knee-length and could be appropriate for someone who is less curvy. I though “eh, it’s all good! The dress is not too short so I’m fine…” I caught young, teenage boy just staring at me (not my chest or anything but over time I realized this kid clearly has a crush) and it was so embarrassing! I really need a refresher on my modesty journey. Before I was baptized, I wouldn’t have even paid any mind to this or adjusted my behavior in any way. Thanks so much for sharing your journey! It’s so helpful to see other young people who are exploring modesty.

I never talked to anyone about this cuz I was worried I was being narsicisstic or petty.Its been a huge issue in our household . I have a daughter. Its so important to me to be an example. We need to lean on eachother! We go through struggles in order to help those who come to struggling in the same area. I too have a teen daughter who, doesn't necessarily wear inappropriate clothing, but her figure is very curvy, so anything she wears will still accentuate her body, unless I stick her in a box 🤪, but I do not want her to see the attention and start to dress specifically for that negative attention, from boys/men and girls/women. I have been changing my attire and way of thinking too. Hopefully one day she will come to realize the good in this. Hope the same for you! Stay strong mama!!

I’ve been wondering what your wardrobe looks like so I’m glad to have found this, I like shein also (besides the poor quality and un eco friendliness from what I’ve heard, but I’m not rich so it’s a good option for me) and I needed inspiration! I think mostly all of my tops are crop tops also like you said yours previously were, a lot of which I don’t even wear anymore since recovering from my eating disorder. They’ve been hard to let go of but I’m trying to build a bigger wardrobe before I throw more than half my clothes out :/ I unknowingly was seeking male validation for a long time also and I loved seeing your video on your journey to modesty it’s so inspirational. I love the outfits you chose, but I'd be wary of buying fast fashion brands in the future and instead invest in longer lasting and sustainable pieces. Those companies make cheap but low quality clothes that usually will end up in a landfill, probably in a third world country, after they are donated to places like Goodwill or other thrift places. For now, keep wearing the clothes you buy though for as long as you can.

I need help and guidance !! I love the options from shein and yesstyle that are modest and would love to shop with them, but they don’t have transparent codes of ethics, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable with the clothes I wear being at the unfair expense of somebody else. I understand that even more expensive popular brands are sometimes as bad as fast fashion, but this has been a personal battle of mine for a while. Is it okay to buy from them? Is there anywhere I can find ethical styles like these?

Miss Sister Vivi, do you ever feel like excessive make-up, the sort that requires an exorbitant about of time to craft and architect with multiple layers and facets, is incongruent with "modesty"? When we're late for work we "make up time". When we break up we kiss and "make up". But what are we making up for with "make-up" as "fearfully and wonderfully made" children of Yah? How much of pop culture is informing our self perceptions of being "enough" with regards the need to make-up for what we see as not enough?

I think she looks stunning with make-up but absolutely lovely without it. I was curious as to what the criteria is for limiting it to clothing? To preclude ambiguity, I am not against the use of make-up but I do ponder why its called that?

I don’t believe anything that contours your body (tight pants and shirts) or shows too much skin is modest. I can’t wear anything above the knees or tight pants. That’s my conviction. God bless.
