so i've been rewatching the rounds and i realized something. in round 5 when mizi starts beating the shit out of luka, the guards come and pull her off of him, wrangle her away, and only after all that just START to point a gun at her head. but because of all that, the resistance had time to come in and save her. so when ivan started doing the same thing, they began shooting him down immediately. because if they didn't, it would give the resistance time to come in and save him, and they don't want that to happen again. that's why none of the guards approached. they would rather kill him quickly than give opportunity for saving 😭

Whoever mentioned that the light returned in Ivan’s eyes after he knew for sure that he succeeded COUNT YOUR DAYS

0:38 Till is forced to sing "My Clematis," reading from the lyrics on the screen. I think he didn’t sing well because he was distracted by Mizi, and the part he sang was Sua's (My Clematis Ivan & Till ver). Ivan sang Mizi's part, but the aliens got angry because that wasn't what they wanted, so they showed a picture of the missing Mizi to clarify that they wanted Mizi's part sung as well. 1:01-1:08 An alien tries to restrain Till and mistreats him, evident in the subsequent scene where Till's clothes are wrinkled, and his body appears weak. 1:13 & 1:30 Till hallucinates seeing Mizi due to the effects of the drugs, but in reality, it's Ivan in front of him. That's why Ivan came back to save him. Ivan couldn’t save Till immediately because Ivan’s owner is a wealthy and influential person (he mentioned himself that he has to behave well because his owner is quite famous). That bar is where aliens showcase their pet-humans, and Ivan has all the access because of his owner and his popularity as a model. 1:23 & 1:25 Till is discounted at 50% at a store, and Ivan is tortured by his previous owner. It seems they both came from the same seller who liked to abuse pet-humans. Possibly, the alien in the "Black Sorrow" MV who wanted to throw Ivan off the building, but Ivan got lucky as he ended up at an auction and got a rich owner. 1:44 This might seem a bit odd, but Ivan should already be standing in front of the mic to ensure his voice is clearer to the audience since he wasn’t holding a hand mic or a mic close to his mouth. So, from this moment, he had already planned to reduce his points for Till's victory. He just wants to reach Till, emphasizing that only he can free him, as he did in the bar. 2:54 - 2:56 Ivan glances at Till, who has stopped singing. 3:00 Ivan ensures that Till has given up. 3:23 Everyone knows the meaning of this kiss. 3:48 Till is confused by Ivan’s smiling face and not really choking him; he’s still processing everything that’s happened. 3:57 The audience has left, the lights are off, no guards are approaching-they probably don’t care, but Till clearly starts to realize something. He notices Ivan’s presence and keeps staring at his lifeless body. This is contrary to Till’s indifferent nature, who only cares about Mizi. Here, Till begins to realize that someone has been paying attention to him just as Mizi did for Sua. Many say that because Ivan’s owner is rich, he wouldn’t let him die, but like in "Black Sorrow," Ivan is just a trophy. Once he loses, his owner will leave and look for another pet, as wealthy people do.

The tragic thing for me was seeing how far Ivan has gone to keep Till safe. He literally disguised himself as a security guard to get Till out of that bar. I can only imagine the other things he’s done. I believe that’s the whole reason why he became the fan favorite. He knew being loved by the aliens would give him more freedom to protect and keep Till alive. As the favorite, he had to go through horrifying things but it was all worth it if it meant Till was still there. Truly, Ivan is the best character for me.

i noticed that during till’s last line before the kiss, he’s actually not singing (2:58), meaning he was purposefully trying to lose, and when ivan noticed this he made sure till would win by acting “aggressively” on stage 🥲

It’s kinda sad how till just accepts his fate and closes his eyes at 3:26. He actually thought Ivan was capable of killing him - which kinda shows me that he really never saw Ivan.

Love how the first couple of kisses Ivan gives to till are aggressive and the last one is a sweet little kiss.

What’s so heartbreaking about Ivan strangling Till to save him, is the symbol of Ivan taking off Till’s collar that has shown up so many times throughout the series. In their backstory, we see Ivan taking off Till’s restraints on multiple occasions, especially the collar over his mouth. He does it back in Ankat Garden when they make their escape attempt, and he’s shown doing it in the flashback in this episode as well. While the aliens want to stifle Till’s chaotic and rebellious nature, Ivan loves that part about Till, and he wants to free him from his bindings, no matter how loud and violent he can sometimes be. But, when Mitzi disappeared, Till lost his rebellious spirit. As he sings during this round he looks defeated, hopeless, with no fight left to give. Ivan can’t stand for that. He has to help Till get his spirit back, no matter the cost. By Ivan’s final act being strangling Till, what he’s really doing is taking of his collar. He reaches for Till’s neck, for the hundredth time, for the last time, intent, as always, to free Till from the aliens. And when his hands fall away, Till is free -free from the fate that awaited him, and maybe, just maybe, with Ivan’s death, Till can regain his rebellious spirit again.

The fact that in the end Till is just standing over Ivan’s body long enough that the show is over and the lights turn off, like he’s in shock or denial that Ivan is dead and is just standing there, processing the fact that he is gone - It hurtsss 😭

something i noticed in the full song "cure" is that the last verse of "yes, me" the 'me' is delayed by a beat or so almost as if Ivan is hoping that Till would respond to him, and whenever they were singing together in their duet, Ivan is singing in a slightly lower octave almost as if he's trying to let Till have to spotlight, despite the fact that in all of the other rounds they have sung in the same octave 😭

There's something truly sad about how Till tries to push Ivan away when he kisses him, but just goes limp when Ivan starts choking him. For a character that's always seen fighting back, when his best friend seemingly tried to kill him, he just accepted it. I think Till went into this competition with the expectation that he would lose, maybe even hoping he would lose since now the only thing that made life worth it to him (Mizi) was gone. Then, his realization of what Ivan did, the fact that Ivan must've felt for him what he felt towards Mizi - that Till dying would've made life pointless for Ivan...

I just noticed this but- During his first song Till sang a determined love song, while Ivan sang a sorrowful song. Now Ivan is singing a determined love song, while Till is singing a sorrowful song.

The hand placement is EVERYTHING for me, like in the second time Ivan held Till like, "I dont want to let go because I will have to."

As a musician, I want to say that I was hooked by the fact that the chorus motif is built on very interesting intervals. Major and minor seconds in music are usually used to convey tension, melancholy, tears and sobs; they define the sorrowful and woeful mood of the song. Perfect fourths and perfect fifths are used to represent the purity of the melody, which I interpret as the sincerity of their feelings. (In English, they are called "perfect," but in my country, they are called "чистый," which means "pure" if you translate accurately, so that makes sense for me.) It's so insightful... 😭💔

2 months later and i still cant get over this. no one is every getting cured vivinos.

It’s the way that at the end, after the painfully one sided kiss and the “choking” (which even if till wasn’t actually being choked it’s still painful to have someone grab your neck like that) Ivan gives one last small, gentle kiss knowing it’s the last thing he’ll ever do right before he dies

Something that i realised is how Till says "Let me drown in you" (0:51) to Mizi because he loves and adore Mizi, but she isn't interested in him which makes him crave that love from her even more. He wants to drown in her love but he cant because her love wasnt meant for him, it was meant for Sua. Ivan on the other hand says "I'll drown in you" (2:20) indicating that he can and WILL drown in his love for Till. "Drowning" in this case implies that he'll lose himself the deeper he goes. So this means he'll willingly love Till, even if it means he will lose himself in the process.

Anyone notice that if they actually got the chance to sing the whole song, they would’ve sung it together at the same time? They could’ve done what Mizi and Sua were doing, singing together because they saw each other, wanted the other to win. It’s very symbolic that they never got that chance, because in the end, they weren’t doing it for the,selves anymore. Till was too depressed to care for his own life, and Ivan loved him so much that he was willing to sacrifice himself. Truly the most noticeable thing to me. Having the potential opportunity to sing together (symbolising their harmony) but not (meaning they were not in harmony). Also sad the heartbeats in the song for Till and Ivan. Though Till disregarded his life, he was full of anxiety and despair. Ivan on the other hand probably wanted a life with Ivan, but had fully come to terms with the fact that he couldn’t. Despite choosing to die, knowing he was going to die, he was calm and even happy…

I think that ever since Ivan got dangled over an edge of a building by his former owner/enslaver Ivan has been the ideal human pet. He is compliant, he never rebels, he never wants anything, thus he is a good boy and he has the privilege of not ever wearing the collar (even Luka wears a collar in Hyuna's flashback to Anakt Garden). In the whole series Ivan wears the collar only once - at 1:25 when he also has bruises from a beating and his eyes look extra dead when he looks back at someone, possibly Till. That might be after he tried to escape with Till. Ivan himself doesn't wish to escape, he is apathetic to everything except Till who makes him feel something for the first in a long time (that's why Ivan is so happy in the flashback punching Till into the ground), but he saw Till trying to escape with Mizi when they got stopped by a guard dog, and thus he tried to escape with Till (we can even see Ivan cuddling to the mouth of the guard dog - befriending it), because that's what Till wants, right? And Till was elated by their escape at first but then he remembered Mizi who is his hope, this idealized version of her he desperately clings to without really knowing her, and he returns to the Anakt Garden. Ivan returns, too, but he doesn't try to escape anymore and is largely unsupervised thus he can go check up on Till when he is beaten and s*xually as*aulted (his alien owner is suddenly stripped and Till's clothes are rumpled, so his owner made Till pleasure him instead of singing) at the karaoke club (it seems they were wanting Till to sing My Clematis lol). Ivan is also able to remove Till's collar and go places he shouldn't be at, he seems to be way too knowledgeable, which makes me think his alien owners doesn't really pay much mind to what they do around him, because he is such a good boy and he would never. And opposed to that Till wears his collar all the time, even during the competition he is wearing the collar which make him the only one in the whole series. And during ROUND 2 he was even plugged in as to double assure that he wouldn't be causing any trouble but he did anyways. They heavily sedated him before ROUND 6, the whole sequence at the beggining is just Till getting pumped full of obedience juice, even in his eyeballs (the red irises and dark hair made me think it's Ivan at first but I think the colors are there for contrast and to disturb the viewer more). It's not the collars exploding that kills the participants as some people say, because no one except Till ever wear the collar during the matches, it's always the guards firing the shots. And one other small detail I noticed: despite Till's eyes contracting in shock when Ivan went over to him and caught his face in the palm of his hand, Till's pupils dilated. He even closed his eyes, first from extertion as he tried to push Ivan away, but then he gave up and grabbed onto him instead, he then proceeded to close and open his eyes few times more and I just don't think he would give up on fighting so quickly even when pumped full of drugs. Then why didn't he fight more? He wasn't imagining Mizi either, because Mizi is the perfect icon, gentle and optimistic, this kiss was anything but. I will just leave you all with this thought. Till was already an emotional wreck during ROUND 6, can't imagine how broken he will be in ROUND 7 after this emotional damage Ivan has inflicted on him in his quest to save Till's life.

That small and tender kiss at 3:23 is such a painful yet beautiful detail. It feels like a last declaration of pure love, a goodbye and confession at the same time. I teared up at that moment.

I think one of the saddest things about this is how when we see Till’s pov Ivan is never in it, but when we see Ivan’s pov Till is EVERYWHERE. Every other person or face is not important like Till is to Ivan, meanwhilr Till doesn’t even SEE Ivan. And he knew, he knew his love wasn’t reciprocated, it’s so clear in his lyrics too 😭😭 I feel like Ivan knew he was going to die the second he turned back to go with Til…. ((I JUST REALIZED THE FIRSY TIME HE ‘SEES’ IVAN IS AFTER HIS NECK IS LET GO AND IVAN LOOKS SO HAPPY RAHHH IM NOT OK))

Ivan sacrificed everything, even himself, for Till. The fact that Ivan is dressed in white (like Sua) like he's a corpse while Till is dressed in black (like Mizi) like he's going to a funeral is heartbreaking.

I really feel it for Ivan, he was between a rock and hard place. Ivan really wanted Till to look him in the eyes and finally notice him. And so he went to sacrifice himself, maybe out of the benign act of selflessness or perhaps a little bit of selfishness, or both; the harsh reality of going on to the next round without Till by his side would left a grim imprint on him. He thought that even if Till didn’t return his gaze, then he would one last time. Ivan really cherished him, the victor for round 6 was already predetermined.

The fact that Ivan only smiles at the end once he knows Till is safe 😭 He doesn’t smile while kissing the person he loves but only after he’s sure Till would live 🥹 I am not okay

Right before Ivan starts "choking" till, till looks actually like calm and idk maybe in love? Ivan's not dead guys i promise

Idk what this is so I'm calling it a speculation but isn't it crazy on round 3 which is Ivan's round, there's a part in the mv where his eyes was the focus and you can see that there were THREE METEORS falling as he was opening his eyes. Those meteors kinda look like gunshots right? And it was literally aiming at Ivan’s face or we could say it was falling directly at Ivan's face as a transition. It’s also the part where Ivan, in the song, said “You who shine, I stand next to you” before he said “so black, black as it can be”. So like, going to round 6 which is Ivan and Till’s round, in the part where Ivan was already choking Till, he got shot THREE TIMES. Going back to the three meteors directed at Ivan, it was almost like vivinos was already implying that Ivan WAS gonna die. Also to add this but, at black sorrow, Ivan said “At the end of this story, there is only a cold spot stained with blood and empty air” as if Ivan knew, Ivan already knew what he had to do for Till to keep him alive. He knows that at the end of their story, that cold spot where he fell down when he was shot was gonna be stained with HIS blood. Also “cold” spot since he’s already dead. That spot cannot be much colder since it was raining but also because there's a cold, dead body on it. And “empty air” if I'm gonna assume is the sound of nothingness. Since Till just looked down on Ivan’s dead body, shocked, not daring to say anything, no one even dared to say something. It was a complete, empty, silence. It's also crazy that’s also the part where everything stopped making no noise, no nothing. Just empty air. He- Ivan already planned this. He planned this from the beginning. Though idk, maybe I'm just tripping LMAO

Notice how Till's neck doesn't even have marks of choking? That means Ivan was just holding his hands on his neck, not even trying to hurt him... God, I'm crying...

I didn't even notice that Til stopped singing until I listened to the official video from Studio LICO. In this video you can hear him sing in the audio but if you watch his lips he stopped. That's why Ivan acted when he did, otherwise Til would have lost then and there.

I don't want to reopen the wounds this has caused but I'm new to Alien Stage and have just now noticed that Ivan stopped kissing Till on his mouth after Till resisted😭(at least that's what it looks like to me😭 it looks like he's kissing the area around). He has really always put Till first😭. My heart can't handle this

The hypocrisy of Ivan for mocking Sua for sacrificing her life for mizi, just for him to do the same

Because of the rain and the loud music and the fact that he closed his eyes, I don’t think Till knew that at that very moment Ivan was being shot. He has already accepted that Ivan was gonna kill him. And it’s not until the very last moment, when Ivan’s grip loosens which urges him to open his eyes, that Till sees Ivan is dying. It’s also the first (and the last) time that Ivan showed tenderness, one that’s not done in secret, both in his actions and expression towards Till. And it’s only when the violence stops and the hidden tenderness comes out amidst all the hurt that Till finally takes a glance to what was already in front of him, to see that Ivan was protecting him, to see that Ivan loved him all along. But it was too late then. In the end, the one way Ivan learned how to get Till’s attention (through violence) was their downfall. It was Mizi’s gentle and kind nature that drew Till towards her, even though that gentle and kind nature was directed towards Sua. If Ivan had shown that same gentleness and care towards Till right from the start instead of only ever doing it in secret, then maybe Till would’ve looked at him soon enough. But I think a part of Ivan didn’t want for Till to do that, no matter how much he yearned for it, because he knew that it would’ve just hurt Till the same way Sua’s death hurt Mizi.

I love how much Alien Stage reflects a lot of cheesy TV tropes like the love... circle? Triangle? Where everyone likes everyone but never back thing. But instead of playing it for a joke or something silly, it's written in a way that breaks your heart into a million pieces because the contestants' love is the one thing they got to choose for themselves.

I know this is probably really obvious and everything, but i've been noticing that it's almost as if Ivan knew that one of them was about to die, so he took those last minutes into doing something that he's already been wanting to do for a long time. At that point, he doesn't even care about Till's rejection of the kiss, he's just doing it. And the kiss was actually seen as an act of "aggression" to the aliens. When Till stopped singing at the end, I think that Ivan knew that he had to do something to make till win, therefore acting out. And when he finally got shot, I also noticed how he almost smiled, because he knew that he had succeeded in letting Till live. ugh i love this sm

Something I noticed about Ivan is that I feel like, whenever Till looked like he was feeling down or looked like he was on the verge of giving up, Ivan would do things to purposefully grate on tills nerve in order to get him to fight. I think he did that because he fell in love with Till and his fighting spirit and never wanted to see it die out. I feel like it's also part of the reason why he kissed Till during the competition as well. Because of Mizi being gone, he looked like he was on the verge of giving up and Ivan didn't want that. Granted I'm just speculating, but it feels like a common theme.

ROUND SEVEN IS GONNA KILLL ME IF TILL DIES

‎I have a theory. If you pay attention, in scene 1:01 Till is being cornered at the table, and at minute 1:08 it seems that Till is gone, tired, something like that. What makes us understand that Till was sexually abused by the Aliens. In minute 3:07, Ivan kisses Till, but not in a demonstration of affection, of love. Well, we know that they grew up surrounded by Aliens, they don't know about love, they don't know how to show it, they don't know their feelings, nothing. Practically Ivan wants Till to think of him by force, we take into account that Till only thought of Mizi, then: Ivan kisses Till, making Till remember how he was abused by the aliens and think, and remember Ivan, despite in a traumatic, disgusting way. Minute 3:43, Ivan releases Till knowing that he is going to die. Minute 3:44, Till sees Ivan's smile and just at that moment, he realizes how Ivan felt and that he cared about him. Minute 3:53, Till has big drops in his shoe, in a demonstration that he is crying for Ivan's death.

I find Till's development in this clip very interesting. You can see here that he's given up. He is the first to stop singing, he barely resists Ivan during the kiss. It's such a stark contrast to the first clip. Till from the past could put up a fight, but he doesn't now. Till is so devastated. On the cotrust, seeing Ivan's eagerness to fight for every bit of attention from Till, and his immense strength for self-sacrifice really breaks my heart.

I know people keep saying we don't see any trace of Ivan in Till's eyes until it was already too late, but I think it's more tragic to point out that we do see Till 'see' Ivan during his section. When they were kids, when Ivan had no light in his eyes. So, I think it'a more appropriate to say that the end was more like the first time Till ever saw the light in Ivan's eyes and been able realize that that light had always been for him.
