Small disclaimer since i actually have a x100pro as my phone for a month. They added selfie videos at 4k 30 and 60 fps via software update like 2 weeks ago.

X100 has the older V2 chipset in it, not the latest V3. That's a big point to be missed I believe as the mentioned chipset has a large role in image processing.

That moon shot is mostly based on AI things, i don't say they ain't real, but that sunsets shots are just insane and not gimmicky. Great work Vivo. The only downside is no 4K recording through the front one.

Maybe for manual videography this might be better. But the iPhone will still be better for videos overall.

I think that would have made no sense because vivo is using their own ISP. It would bypass snapdragons ISP even if they have used that chip.

Although the Vivo X100 Pro is a capable phone, it trails behind Vivo's own mid-range offering, the Vivo v29 series, which boasts a 4K selfie video recording feature. Therefore, when it comes to prioritizing a premium experience, I lean towards the upcoming Samsung S24+ or Ultra for the superior selfie video clarity that the Samsung S series consistently delivers.

Except for the overly curved screen, everything seems to be in order. They should have gone the Samsung S23 Ultra way if the curved display was THE MOST IMPORTANT thing for them. At least the cheaper non-pro version could have had the flat display. As an example, the current and previous generations of iPhone do not support the curved display, but most people either don't miss it or complain about it. Samsung is also reducing the curveness along the edges of its screens because it realizes that other than aesthetics, it serves no purpose in real life. I hope Oppo releases a future version of this series with a flat display (at least the non-pro version).
