I'm not religious, but I love this movie so much! And the "since when do people know what they want" is a slight abbreviation of a real deep thought: People know what they want, but what they want is often not what they need! I might really want a billion dollars. But the struggle to fight back out of depression might have made me a stronger and healthier human being. So while I definately have an issue with all the HORRIBLE stuff happening around the world in a world where a god exists... I do think most people have no clue what they actually need in life!

Fun fact: in the restaurant scene when he first started hearing the prayers you can hear Grace's voice saying "how could I have been so stupid?" Because she was asking God who at the moment just so happened to be right there. It's actually not even that she just wants to get married and have kids. She just wants him to put her first for once. That's pretty much the whole theme. When he's given the power of God, he just does things for himself, and no one else. Even in the mortal side with them going to a romantic dinner, he makes it ALL about him. Then in the end it shows that even without divine powers we can do things to help others.

Paper towels are inefficient to clean that much liquid. As someone who has dealt with plenty of dogs and accidents regarding wood floors, puppy pads are your best bet. Yes for the cleaning. Once you get everything up with a couple of puppy pads, then you break out the safe disinfectant, spray the area, and use paper towels to give everything its last wipe down.

I can't help but love this movie. Not just because of itself, but it also gives my often-forgotten hometown of Buffalo a spotlight. The action scenes were all shot in San Diego, but several of the backgrounds - like the newsroom background, the scene where Bruce and God are walking around on the lake, the Clint Eastwood scene, and Bruce declaring himself "Bruce Almighty" - were Buffalo. Jim Carrey was born and raised in Toronto, which is only a 90-minute drive from Buffalo. He's said that he made trips to and from Buffalo fairly frequently as a kid and has always spoken very well of the city and his time there. Keifer Sutherland and Mike Myers are also Toronto natives who commuted to Buffalo a lot when they were young. After a mass murder there in 2022, Myers appears on Stephen Colbert's show wearing a Buffalo Sabres jersey to show the people there that he thought of them. Despite what the movie says, the Sabres have never won a championship, and I fully expect the people there would act exactly like they did in the movie if either major team (Sabres or Bills) ever did. And if you like Jim Carrey as a cartoon, it's time to see The Mask - one of my favorite comedies ever.

It may be just a coincidence but If you look back at some key scenes in the movie, it looks as though it drops references to scripture in both Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. For example, in the scene where Bruce picks up the broken phone and the announcer mentions the numbers 5-1-2-3, it appears to make a biblical reference to Proverbs chapter 5 verses 1 thru 23, or at least the first few verses, which is consistent with Bruce seeking answers. In Evan Almighty, there are biblical easter eggs in the guise of numbers throughout that movie as well. I just found out you live in Philly. So do I (Northeast section)👍👍

Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty are both really good movies. They should have made another one and completed the trilogy [or should I say the holy trinity😄].

In theaters, Bruce's pager actually displayed a real phone number instead if the 555-xxxx fake. I saw this on the third or fourth day of release, and went again the next evening. First time I went to see the same movie twice in the theater. Given recent offerings, it will likely be the only time, too.

I'm a cinephile, watched all my life movies, some series and i really enjoy that and the backstage, etc. When you say that you need more movies in your life i thought i need you in my life, well, someone like you, you are a little woman and i'm not. Greetings from Argentina. Thanks!

PLEASE watch the end of the video, OTHERWISE known as the BLOOPERS! AND also, PLEASE watch the movie Evan Almighty! I am sure you can figure who plays Evan as well as figuring out the storyline of the movie! And in the future please always watch the very end of movies. There are a lot of movies that have post credit material included. 👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠❤❤

The movie Grace was watching about the "lasso and the moob" was "It's a Wonderful Life." An absolute classic starring Jimmy Stewart from 1946.A great movie with Jennifer Aniston wanting a family is Marley and Me. If you love dogs, it's a great one. Just keep a box of tissues near you.

Evan had an extended scene that was deleted, thankfully. Because embarrassing him on tv was enough to give us laughs, the deleted scene was too cruel.

I laughed so hard when I first saw this movie, one of my all time favorite comedies. I absolutely love this woman's reactions, she is truly something. Her demeanor, the way she carries herself and handles herself so effortlessly, and with such class, that wonderful personality of hers. Truly amazing to watch, and so impressive. It's so rare to see a woman so beautiful on the outside be even more beautiful on the inside, with that big heart and awesome personality,I truly admire that, and she earned every bit of my admiration too. I said it before and I'll say it again, you go girl, keep killing it, love your channel.❤❤❤

Back in the 70s or 80s, George Burns and John Denver did the first God and regular guy movies!

I'd never noticed until I saw this movie a couple weeks ago, but Morgan Freeman uses Ace Ventura's "all righty then" when they're mopping.

It's A Wonderful Life has to be the next on your list to watch. It's easily top ten greatest movies ever made. It's the one Grace is watching before the party. It's from 1946 and ingrained in pop culture and most don't realize it. You'll bawl your eyes out, but it's the best feel good movie. It's Xmas movie, but it's worth watching year round.

Great reaction to a fantastic comedy. Favorite scene will always be Steve Carell speaking gibberish in the studio. And they do still make movies like this, might just be harder to find them, as some are buried in streaming only releases. Also, Pixar makes movies like this non stop, albeit animated. =)
