I think the role of Vladimir Pozner as a world journalist is underestimated! On Russian TV Pozner is interviewing people in mildly criticising manner but still makes an effort to understand the person, he interviews in very respectful way. He is NOT known as pro-Putin in Russia. However here he is behaving differently. But not blindly defending Russia or Putin but constructively trying to counterbalance the situation between the West and the East, looking for the truth and facts as he said. For me he is a master of balance between two worlds, a truth seeker and a pacifist. He is also a voice in the West that Russia is needing so much. This anti-Russian propaganda has to stop. The West is not so liberal and democratic as many might think...Unfortunately...

You cannot be half-pregnant. Make no mistake: Russia does not have freedom of speech. Measured criticism of "Russia's Government" or "Power" (as it called in Russian language by people who are afraid to call spade a spade) is not the same thing as to have opposition leaders having daily access to the Russian Television and speaking about President mismanaged the country and committed crimes. It have not happened in Putin's Russia since year 2003 when Putin destroyed NTV Television Company, which was in opposition to him. Some people have difficulty to believe that Russia does not do propaganda in the West and did not interfere with the elections in the Western countries, because, as they say " Putin's propaganda does not work even inside Russia". This is lie and they know that this is lie. The fact that Putin was able to grab power for so long is the result of, at least partial, of success of propaganda inside Russia. Russian media propaganda these day is polished to perfection and is much better than the one that existing in the USSR 30 year ago. In mid 1970-s Soviet KGB translated to Arabic, delivered and distributed millions of copies of Hitler's "Main Kampf" along with "Protocols of Zion Elders" in Arab countries. This was tremendous success of the Soviet Propaganda as the level of antisemitism in the Arab World today is in the range of 90%-100%, while in traditionally antisemitic old good Europe it is in the range 10%-25%. Those numbers were taken from the study of US Defamation League. This example along indicates how successful was Soviet propaganda even in the pre-Internet era. As to Vladimir Pozner - he was talented apologist of the USSR and he does the same thing for today's Mafia-State Russia in a more delicate and polished style. This is the price he pays for being allowed to sell his TV show to Russia 1-st TV Channel.

SuperNashum It’s funny you mention the last part. As a progressive American who knows a substantial amount of Russian, I’ve noticed that US state sponsored media outlets like “Radio Liberty” seem many times obsessed with convincing common people in Russia, especially the younger populations, that the west and western people are more ideal (& liberal) than they actually are. They also like to show idiots in Russia that exists everywhere and pretend they don’t exist in the west or it’s reallyyyyyy, reallyyyyy hard to find these people here. It’s propaganda for many reasons, but if you mentioned it, I assume you can infer as to why.

I am not for Putin (god forbid) and I would never defend any country (including my own) if it behaved wrongly. But this man here tries to show that truth does not lie in extremities. Saying that we completely influenced US election - is stupid. Saying also that there was no influence at all (even attempts) - would also be wrong.

Of all the things the host could have quoted from the Oliver Stone documentary, he quotes Putin speaking about women behavior during menstrual cycle ?
@farerolobos9382
@farerolobos9382 3 жыл бұрын
Which, of course, was a generalisation, but a generalisation based on a true, scientifically proved fact: many women, probably most of them, are emotionally unbalanced during the pre-menstrual days. That affirmation is as true as saying that men are more aggressive than women due to testosterone levels.

I found magical things start to happen if you hear everything Putin says with a half-jokish ironic tone of voice. Try to hear that 'women-bad-days' quote in an half-jokish ironic tone of voice. Like Boris Johnson would use on Have I Got News for You. Everything will fall in its place. He's just a bad dad joke character. For some reason we always perceive him in some menacing dictator tone of voice. But if you imagine everything he says in a kinda laid-back ironic bad dad joke tone of voice.,. Everything starts to make sense! It was just a ill chosen idiotic joke. Like many things he says.

Well who started this mess : the US and Nato did . Pozner is also correct when he said Putin did not interfere in US aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq . The difference was US and its imperialist interests were the cause of that Aggression for oil . Russia did not cause the aggression on Syria and Ukraine, the US and NATO did . btw I am an American of Polish and Italian descent .

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br5ngcpomsuZl4U.html 1:30:28 an audience member asks how do we stop Ukrainians from killing each other, even neighbors killing neighbors who live on same street, in their own communities or regions ? my AF's answer : A. the hell with leaders and filthy rich minority who work in concert to divide and conquer us from both sides . B. We are all human beings C. We live together and work together in the same community D. If we want to survive and prosper we must treat each other like fellow human beings and not on ethnicity, religion, and so on . Our corporate led leaders want to divide us, and they always have in the most of history . War and conflict are profits . And anyway since we are on the downward slope of energy production, and exporting and importing takes up way too much energy , we must build municipal and regional self sufficient economies and we need each other to do this . Yes we can disagree on this , that and the other , but no man or group is an island . We have to accept our differences so we can live, work, and enjoy life with our families and friends in our leisure time in peace . We don't even have to socialize with those with a different opinion or philosophy , but if we keep killing each other we cannot live work and enjoy our leisure time .

I didn't find those particlar answers of Mr Putin's sexiest, it's true for some women and a 'day off' is as natural as the sun rise and sun set. You can't and never ever will totally understand the 'day off' unless your the one experiencing them. What I did find uncomfortable Is the attempt to make Mr Putins answer sexist. From what I believe from that answer of Mr Putins was he is stating with an acknowledgement to a fact that he doesn't take a 'day off' with a respect to those who do. However, before the feminist weigh in, I will balance it with not all females need days off because of 'days off' but it is a known fact there are certain symptoms of 'days off' that being in charge of a country that may, for a better phrase, not inteially be a good idea. ( add own humour ) Yet its not to say there are women who are not affected by the 'days off' factor do a very positive role for thier country, and role models for females such as in sport, no matter what natural phase they are in thier life.

Yeah Putin just always talks in bad dad jokes. Depends on the tone of voice. The presenter read it out it in too seroious tone of voice to make it sound really evil. But if you hear that in a semi-jokish laid back tone of voice (like someone hosting Have I Got News for You for example) everything Putin says starts sound ok.
