So in essence DL's mother ruined the relationships between DL and his biological father and DL's family because I'm sure DL's biological father would've loved having a relationship with his grandchildren and them with their grandfather.

My son's little brother isn't mine, his dad split soon as his mom got pregnant, and I've been in his life since he was 2 cuz when I went to pick up my son he would be there. I spent lots of time with them during Covid cuz his mom wasn't trying to let my boy go across town and get sick. Even though I'm the only dad he knows I still find it hard to tell him I love him. I remember my uncle and friends in that state and it never made me feel any better. The women were hysterical saying, "You'll never see him again" but I chose to remember my father as the pillar he was in life. Never regretted it.
