In this clip, Aries Spears briefly discussed his impersonation of LL Cool J before shifting to LL's status as an all-time great. He spoke about LL's battle rap past before expanding to battle rap in general. To Aries, there may be other ethnic groups that have adopted the art of battle rap but he stated that Black people own the copyright.
Aries Spears went on to compare battle rapping to stand up comedy and the need for comedians to be able to perform under all conditions. He spoke about hecklers being such an Achilles heel for comics but said he learned how to cut them down from greats like DL Hughley.

So the only Diz battle he ever seen was the Cassidy match. You can't judge a battler based off 1 battle. That's like listening to 1 song by an artist who has 10 albums and saying they trash just because the 1 song wasn't hittin feel me

Mental Midget people need to let that shit go. Yes it was a bad moment, but that doesn't mean his music isn't dope because he got beat in an accapella battle. Plus his first round was better than anything Diz spit. He will always be my favorite lyricist, 15 albums of great music.

You can be trash, but if you can make the people love you, then that’s all you need. Tay roc!! Ain’t the best, but the people love him.
