--------
Dominique Wilkins recounts his rise to elite status in 1985. He attributes his rapid development to the guidance of seasoned players and the valuable life skills he learned alongside basketball. Focusing on a major playoff year, Wilkins recalls the heat of competition, specifically the intense playoff series against the Celtics. He recounts the suspense of a game six loss to the Celtics, after which Larry Bird made a confident prediction of victory for Boston. Wilkins shares his rallying words to his team, setting the stage for an unforgettable seventh game in Boston. Despite the ultimate defeat, Wilkins remembers Bird's words of equal respect, and considers this the greatest acknowledgment a player can receive in such a high-stakes situation.

Kevin McHale was guarding Wilkins most of the game. That's how it usually went, McHale would guard the best offensive forward on the other team. That was a great asset for Boston.

I think a lot of people don't know that Mchale was 3x all defensive 1st team and 3x all defensive 2nd team. Not just some black hole. But some guy might act like it was all Bird helping the Celtics in that era

If you look the history of 7 game series in any sport, the controversy always happens in game 6. And I believe there’s a mafia or gambling influence to these games which causes players to maybe 🤔 take a dive in game 6

Big Dominique fan here.... but I remember late in the game. They pass the ball to Bird in the post. Bird does no moves... simply dribbles around Nique and flips the ball in. I'm like damn Nique, you gotta play better defense, especially late in a playoff game. Losing game 6 was a missed opportunity as well.

From college repping Georgetown, Syracuse, Memphis to the stars of the pros like my man Dominique, Bird, Magic, Isiah. Even our girls were slammin. BIG Huge shot out to the Lady Vols and the great great Pat Summitt.
