In this full-length interview, former Compton Police chief, Reggie Wright Sr. explains the formation of the Bloods and the Crips to DJ Vlad, stating the bloody war actually began as a rivalry between cross-town high schools. He also shares details about what it was like to grow up in the 9th Ward of New Orleans before eventually moving to South Central, Watts, and Compton in Los Angeles County. The former LA Sheriff's Lieutenant talks about the influence and accuracy of Eazy E's classic hit "Boyz in da Hood." He then talks about his encounters with the late rapper before discussing N.W.A.'s breakthrough hit "F**k da Police."
As the conversation moves along Reggie Wright Sr. sheds even more light on the impact N.W.A.'s "F*** Tha Police" song had on Compton PD officers. From there, Wright Sr. talks about the cultural impact of gangsta films such as "Colors." Later in the interview, Wright Sr. talks about the events leading up to 2Pac's murder in Las Vegas along with the alleged involvement of the LAPD and Suge Knight. He also shares his thoughts on the key people involved wIth Biggie's murder case. Lastly, he discusses N.W.A.'s critically acclaimed biopic, "Straight Outta Compton," his son's arrest back in 2017, and Dr. Dre's epic Super Bowl Halftime Show earlier this year.

I’m sorry but this old bird is both a good liar and bad liar. He claimed to know nothing about Keefe because he was a so-called drug dealer and not in a gang or in his words was not a gangster. Well let me tell you that in all the major hoods I know slangin and gang bangin go hand in hand and you can’t run dope game if you not from that hood so he lyin about that. He also said he went straight to Keffe’s momma house even though again he claims not to know shit about him. There are several other things that tells you a lot about where his allegiance is, when dude asks him about the Crips that was in the caddie he said dudes was riders in a not impressed dismissive manner while when he’s asked about the bloods in particular the alleged shooter in the biggie case he lights up like a Xmas tree and almost in a bragging way calls him a hitter among other real killa references. He also sounds sketchy when things about his son are mentioned. So to me they all about cover ups and bullshit.

Why does Vlad have to correct him on the music stuff? Just let it go and get to what Mr Wright is an expert on. All of Vlad’s interviews regarding Tupac/Biggie are the same….. “ what was your neighborhood like before gangs and crack? What about after the introduction of crack? I never knew about crips and bloods growing up in the bay”. He gets interesting guests but his interviews are often painful.

There was a national documentary on the hidden valley kings. Vlad may not have heard about gangs until NWA came out, but they were out.

The bloods/crips were on the east coast by the mid-80s. Legit, connected bloods. Chi town gangs too. All that 93' nonsense the cops talk about isn't true. They just took over neighborhood crews and hid what they really were. 575 if you know..

So basically it all went to shite once the Wright family took control of The CPD . Went straight downhill from there. You should be proud of yourself and the son you’ve raised. 😆

Whenever you played Centennial, they threw shit at the bus and would be accused of possibly shooting at busses. When I was a kid, I played at Torrance High in 1991, we DRUBBED Centennial like 36-0, we were told to leave our helmets on in the bus due to people throwing shit at the bus on the way out. 😂...
