Hiking in cold and snow is THE best thing ever.. When you have right gear you can just enjoy as long as you want.. no bugs, no sweating, fresh air, you can reach places that are hard to reach in summer.. List goes on and on. + My lapponian herder loves snow too. Cheers from Finland

The micron count is how fine the fiber is. SW usually stands for superwash. I love Father Brown too. What a wonderful gift!

Thanks for the clarification! The yarn is super soft! Also, we really enjoy that show as well as Sister Boniface!

The smaller the micron count, the softer the wool.

You live in the desert, but love colder climate. Have you thought of moving to a much colder area? I used to live in Arizona. Got tired of 115-degree weather.
@adventuredenali6 ай бұрын
I would absolutely love to do that, and if I could I would! My partner however, is a desert rat through and through.

Mt. Lemmon! Hopefully that $180,000 the guy who started the fire has to pay goes to restoration. We’re going up there to stay in the hotel next week. Nice getting a taste of winter but being back in nice weather in an hour. Cheers and happy new year 🎉

Oh yeah, what a crazy thing. I hope you enjoy your time up there! Happy new year!

Lovely views from the mountain! There have been almost -45 degrees Celsius (that is 115 degrees Fahrenheit) in northern Finland😂It's funny feeling when your eyelashes are frozen. Sock Squad subscription sounds a great Christmas present!

The advantage of spriral-bound notebooks is that they are easy to open unless you have damaged the spiral wire. I like three-hole-drilled cloth-bound notebooks because they are much easier to keep in 3-ring binders, but the disadvantage to them is when the binding glue fails and the pages become loose.

I got my Farmer’s Daughter January socks too!! And yes! It says in the journal that each month’s socks will be based off the corresponding photo in the calendar! I’m too excited!! Can’t wait to see what you make with yours!

Hurray!!!!! What did you think of January? What project will you use with your yarn?

@@adventuredenali I’m thinking of doing Jessica McDonald’s new Forest Path socks! Do you have a pattern in mind for your set?

19 micron is really fine, wonderful - the lower the micron the finer and softer the wool - SW means superwash merino. Most merino is 23 micron but this is very fine

So pretty! I love it. Its so much fun watching you with your knitting. Do you think a beginner could learn to knit a sock. ??
@adventuredenali6 ай бұрын
Absolutely!! I learned as a beginner. I think it’s a small project that contains so many valuable techniques. Someone once told me, “If you can knit a sock, you can knit anything!” There are so many valuable tutorials on KZfaq as well, and if you haven’t already, definitely check out the Crazy Sock Lady. She has excellent sock tutorials.

Beautiful. Was it a natural fire, or an unexpected one?

Some idiot shooting shotgun incendiary rounds (dragons breath) caused it. He has to pay $180,000 in restitution but he’s 64 and only paying $200/month so it will take him 75 years to pay it back 😂
