Hi Hayley, just a LITTLE tip for your reversing in tight up to the wall spaces…..Keep a small bright traffic cone in your locker and place it around 10 foot away from the wall or obstruction in the area you are about to reverse into. Your trailer will be in the region of 8 ft wide, when you reverse back just go to “KISS “ the cone with your trailer wheels on the side you can see in your mirror, that will ensure you’re clear of the obstruction on the blind side by at least 2 feet. Hope this makes sense.

Nicely controlled steady reversing there. Always 'fun' when they put an industrial estate in a residential area. That, or when people decide to park cars, leave pallets, FLTs and everything else strategically placed when you are about to manoeuvre as I find.

Good video there Hayley, reversing was nicely done. Just to remember, a 62 plate tractor is now 9 years old and the company probably wants to move it on while it's got a reasonable value.

Hiya Hayley. Great to be on another one of your virtual lorry journeys again via YT. I spotted the name of Yale on the fork lift loader, and I do so happen to know that we had a neighbour who lived next door but one to us, the late Eric Twigg, who worked for the firm who produced the very machines that no workplace has done without for decades. Eric's sadly no longer with us now, but his widow Pam is still very much in touch with my mum since she left our cul-de-sac nearly ten years ago. Keep trucking Hayley & look forward to the next vlog presently.

That is a good camera. Check out FSC Trucking in the US, he drags a trailer with a 1984 Peterbilt. you might find that interesting. I haven't been driving a semi since the late 80s early 90s, before tractor trailers became a thing in germany. MAN trucks were still "unterflur". Google that. I am surprised just how short that tractor is, and fuel tank only on one side? Here in the US trucks carry 3-400 gallons of fuel. for your first delivery, i would have instinctively hugged the the corner on the "good side" with the tires much close than you did. I think that would have put you at a softer angle and tighter to the wall. And, yes, lines on the ground go a long way. Nowadays i drag a 28 foot camping trailer with a Ford F250 to 10 Nascar race weekends, so i still drag a trailer about 10,000 miles a year.

Sharing a cold sore tip. Tis the season for roadworks, Hayley. As soon as we're back from Christmas/New Year, we're into the last quarter of the financial year. So the cry goes up, 'use it, or lose it!' Hence roadworks, roadworks everywhere. Even covid or omicron can't deter them. Covid may have stopped alot of things, but not roadworks. They continue undaunted. They're like weeds that spring up overnight. They can be set up in ten minutes. I used to think Gloucestershire was the world headquarters for road cones, but it seems we have competition from pretty much everywhere now. They should test your driving skills though. Maybe a vlog on negotiating roadworks should come next.🤔 There's plenty to choose from. 😊

Hello hayley can you explain the screens around the dash please and the navigation you use Regards tony

Hi Tony, I use a Garmin truck sat nav to get me to my destinations. The one on the right was the company sat nav that's linked to their tracking service. I just prefer to use my own that's why there was two 😊

The reason the driving school has the drawbar is to do class 2 and class one using on vehicle but nothing wrong with learning on a draw bar you do sometime get jobs were they ask for waggon and drag experience but I'm sure if you can drive you wont have problems with an artic just take you time

The old trucks were horrible, manual box with no syncro, super heavy steering. I would guess it’s a lot nicer job with a modern truck 😎

Make the Jump! I started in August with Theory, 28th of October started learning to drive. and since last week i got my license for the Rigid! It may seem daunting on the first lesson, but you will fall in love fast! Hope you will give it a go, otherwise, somewhere in the order of 150gbp well spend on an experience of a lifetime driving a truck once!

Hi Hayley, enjoy your channel. Good to see you've found a work place that you seem happy in. Please could you let me know what cameras and accessories you use ( stands, suction arms etc ) and or mounts for each video as I see you seemed to have a few in the cab during the video but just wanted to know what is your main kit you use to make decent quality videos like you are doing. Thanks and well done.

I have a question about tachographs: when and how do you program a break on a digital tachograph?
@TruckDriverHayley
@TruckDriverHayley 2 жыл бұрын
You take a break when you are ready. As long as it's within the first 4.5 hours of driving to comply with the tacho regulations and within the first 6 hours of work to comply with the WTD regulations. to put the tacho on break you press the number 1 button until the mode changes to break.
