Hi Hayley, the reason most companies buy sleeper cabs is for the resell value. A day cab is harder to sell on. You rarely see tractor units with a day cab today, except for shunters. The top bunk can be removed easily, but where would you store it? It would get lost and never seen again. 🤠

Hi Hayley, so far I have only been out in an MAN since passing my test but I did train in a DAF. The problem I found with the little day cab DAF's is that the brake and accelerator pedals are very close together and if you have big or wide feet it was all to easy to catch the edge of the other pedal, the MAN have more room between the pedals but the 7.5tonner and 18tonner always seemed to be in a hurry to get up the gears, not always ideal when pulling away at traffic lights on a hill in Plymouth🙄🤔 the tutorial videos you have put up are really good and have helped me to decide whether or not to go for class 1, after watching the Top Gear gang in class 1's, thankfully off road, I have nothing to worry about😂😂 unlike Richard Hammond I will remember the tug test after hitching up🤣🤣 have a good week out and enjoy the DAF

I see loads of K's now you don't work for them eyyup 7:23, i did some work for them and may even have driven that DAF eyyup 16:51, most recent company I worked for that is I use a lint roller on truck seats/fabric when a vacuum isn't available. I carry a couple of small stiff brushes - one for floor, one for upholstery and the use the lint roller to get the last bits up. Can usually take a lot of rolling depending on the filth

hey hayley I hope you look after my old truck there lol, the screen wash was intermittent but was always reported (but nothing done) and I'm not sure about the shoes. I haven't been in it for 4 weeks or so but I did keep it clean, have fun at diamond 😂

Hi Hayley one thing I think I forgot to mention when you were resting your legs on the fridge, make sure your drivers door is locked just in case someone opens it and you go backwards very fast! Can only agree about the horn, door handle foibles and the steering wheel size but after a day you don't notice it. I went from a Daf I had new to two late model MAN's and personally the MAN's are more powerful and comfortable but the Daf was more reliable and easier to work on also the Daf was far better on fuel too. With the top bunk hitting you on the head while sat on it try putting a big cushion behind you then your head will be further forward. All the best.

The heated seat button is on the actual seat. Digital speedo is is set using the the control knob to the left of the steering wheel. Only problem is you have to put it on ever time you start the engine

Being a firefighter we don't have the driving regs u have I was thinking of using my license when I leave 2 become a driver. But after seeing the crap u all go though don't think I'll do the delivery say, but Iv looked into the bus recovery side.

Hi Hayley, great video as always. Difficult choice in my opinion, the MAN is a nice truck, simple layout and plenty of room. I passed my class 1 in a Daf XF, but have only driven the CF since then. The layout of the Daf is simple and I think they are comfortable trucks to drive. Either one would be a good choice, but the Daf does slightly win it for me. Hope to get back on the road soon, will keep an eye out for you!! Stay safe!

MAN in their infinative wisdom decided too save money by putting in the same steering wheel on their buses and their trucks thats why there is a huge steering wheel,the new ones are normal size.

Sorry Hayley, not been watching in quite a few months, been diagnosed with an issue that my eyes have dried out, and that got to use drops for the rest of my life. hopefully now got it under control as taken a few weeks of using the drops several times a day just to get them hydrated again, so now only once a day with the drops now, and my eyes are feeling better. so hopefully be able to catch up on some youtube. great vlog, yeah if the truck isn't used for long haul I couldn't see a problem with them removing the bunk for you, after all it is about making the driver happier in their job. I don't know why truck manufacturers put a bunkbed ontop especially with most companies not allowing passengers in the trucks unless they work for the company, due to the health and safety aspect. keep up the great work. surprised a training school using a video you done, well done on getting that recognition.

So, you're an instructor by proxy, the dichotomy of requiring several years as a class 1 driver before you can be an instructor, but your videos are being referenced as valuable training material, 🤔. Hiya Hayley. Love going round the interior of your trucks. I know someone who, like me, has the same mental health condition and does models of classic trucks in his home workshop. I've known him nigh-on a decade now, I meet up with him and his mum once a month and have done for as long as I have known. Love your vlogs, they're the perfect reminder about being careful on the road these days. You mention toilet roll in the latter part of your vlog. It so happens that two years ago last week it was a right old field day for the toilet roll distribution depots up and down the country due to Covid having reared its ugly little head on the world, I saw on the telly last week a clip from ITV's This Morning where reporting couple Nick & Eva Speakman were at a depot in their native Manchester that distributes toilet rolls to stores in the area and all over the country. Were you at all involved in the distribution of essential products that were required throughout the periods of lockdown due to the pandemic at all? Love ya Hayley. stodgy gearshift on pre 2016 MAN throws everything off the dashboard when moving off, not keen on the thick steering wheel rim on the DAF & the bloody annoying diddle dum diddle dum warning buzzer , there may be a switch on the side of the seat for the heater

Its great to see and hear that you have found a job that really suits you now, and having a varied combination of distance and local is nice thing to have Ithink. A bit like your very first job ( yow A-no the one i mean) I thought that was a nice job, with the same regular daily customers and run up to Deeside twice a week, and home on time. Laughing at the number plate confusion! I have a number plate with a name I use on several forums in the windscreen of my vintage tractor and people think that`s what the tractor is called! When I explain that`s my forum name they get confused!

DAF all day long I used to drive a renult T460 and what a peice of crap that was then went to a Daf xf fx I dunno lol but the diffrence is night and day

Can I get a shout out Hayley, I have been waiting about 7 or 8 months now for my HGV provisional. The DVLA have been faffing around all that time due to covid and now there is a problem with the DVLA obtaining my medical information from my gp due to the DVLA owing my doctors money so they won't release my information ( so my doctors tell me ). I am stuck in limbo and its so frustrating I have almost given up on my dream.

Am a daf driver in Europa but I keep my truck clean Also your driving the most cheap trucks whit nothing extra No fridge No arm rest No floor mats in the truck Ask your boss what kind of car he is driving That's I think not the most cheap model. 🤣🤣 Oh and one thing The fist one that put his shoes on the dash in my truck has to walk home In my truck are no shoes allowed.
