This was the best movie I have watched in a long time. Well worth the trip to the cinema. The WW2 accuracy was spot on. The _IJN Takao_ wa the last unsunk Japanese cruiser at the end of the war. The Raiden was in development to combat the B-29. Our use of two nukes was mild compared to our firebombing campaign. Some scenes scared me. Some made me cry. Just like when I watched the first _Godzilla_ back in the late 70's.

Good movie, but I'm sure people are going to try to compare it with the Godzilla Kong movie coming out this year even though they're two completely different animals. Godzilla Minus 1 is meant to be thought-provoking being post-war Japan, while the other movie is popcorn entertainment.

Incidentally, this latest entry in Toho's G-cycle is a notable landmark in that it was released during the 70th anniversary of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, the film that started all "modern" Kaiju Eiga including the original Gojira a year later.

I loves the movie, it had a solid human storyline that American Godzilla movies forget to do and it had small nods to the original without becoming Easter Egg film. And on top of all that the special effects were great.

This was definitely a great movie. I wish the Japanese film industry didn't remake Godzilla every few years, but still a great time and the character development is well done.

First it is not the Japanese film industry it is ToHo who owns Godzilla. Second the Godzilla franchise never really of much a continuation like some franchises you might know. Some say one can judge the feel of Japan's mood by the Godzilla movies and the Godzilla movies couldn't change with the mood of nation if the franchise was more like other known American franchises.

And all without having to be in 3-D A masterpiece. To be fair, if he'd used the guns on the plane on the smaller Godzilla it may have just pissed him off more and the poor guy was beating himself up over nothing. I did love the neighbor lady - even she had arc

I will say this, I'm a huge anime fan, right now watched this video while taking a break between games involving Waifu characters, and even I might have butchered the names too, so hats off to you for the attempt anyways. This movie, I am also very interested in checking it out. Haven't had a chance to yet, but do want to. Anyways, thank you, Sean, did like this mini review.

I love this movie and I look forward to seeing it again but this time in the soon to be available black and white format. At the end of the film, people actually applauded in the theater I was in. I can’t remember the last time I saw that happen, strange as the behavior is.
@nedrini10555 ай бұрын
Why is that strange? When I was growing up, everybody stood up and applaud it with something great happened.
@tambor345 ай бұрын
Because no one who made the movie is in the theater to receive the applause. It isn’t a live event. It is a movie. So I think that is strange.

Godzilla:Minus One was the best movie I had seen in years. And proof that you don't need a huge budget to make a great movie. Godzilla minus one was made with a very good story, great acting, passion for film making and only 15 million dollar. Compare that to some of the flops of last year like The Marvels (274 million), The Flash (200-220 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp:Quantum mania (200 million).
