You don't want to wreck the rug with wear in case you ever do want to move it to another room so get a chair mat for your desk chair so that it doesn't wear the carpet, be sure you get one specifically for carpet. (I just bought a new one to replace my 15 year old one 🤣) Just a thought most professionals that I know hang their degrees in their work office. I know I like to see them when I visit a new office so that I know that the person is legit. Just a thought, maybe you can put copies in one of your offices. Lots of high LED desk lights popular right now that you could put behind the monitor on the desk, just searched LED desk lamp on Amazon and they will all pop right up 👍😊

There are some really cool LED desk lamps with a clamp you could buy -- attach to the bookshelf or on the desk itself. I think you want the light to brighten up your computer area? Like with a USB so you don't need to even plug it in.

Love the new look in your home office! Also, loved seeing the process of trial and error - I think we forget when we see a beautiful space that it didn't just land like that on the first try. You have so inspired me to tackle my home office, which I seldom work in because it's such a mess. It's mainly full of stuff that I don't know what else to do with, but you have shown us just how to tackle those things - thank you!!!

Move the filing cabinet beaide the drawer ubit end if desk, user friendly. Move couch back to where it was, tuck fridge beside it like a side table , add plant on top. Rug can go under couch into the room. Move art so its spaced properly, minor adjustments means no holes showing as your just moving art an inch or two. Its very awkward right now. Consider moving monitor to other side of desk for light,.

maybe move the bookcase to where you put the file cabinet and put the cabinet where the bookcase is now.

You got so much done in your home office, nicely done! 👏🏼 That first bit of clean desk space was so satisfying lol. As for the lighting conundrum, how about trying a clip on light either on the back corner behind your monitor facing up, or on the bookshelf? Otherwise I'd be tempted to try some brighter twinkle lights around the book case and/or over Adele and see if that helps create some decent light for you. I'd be tempted to try and get rid of the filing cabinet if not absolutely necessary, put the fridge beside the couch as a "side table" and free up some space. I was so invested in watching this while it was quiet at work that a coworker came by 5 minutes past the end of our shift to check on me and remind me it's time to go home 😂

If you have a space to lose the big filing cabinet -- do it. There might be too many pieces in the room, and then it starts to feel cluttered as the scale is off. A rug would be really nice to ground the sofa/and maybe add a really cute soft ottoman and add a tray or something -- or a smaller coffee table. Over your desk, you could do a grouping of your art/certificates and your Mom's beautiful artwork. Make a nice little collection in another spot once your space is to your liking.

What do I watch when I’m cleaning? You! I think the couch and rug are gorgeous and would make them the focal point of the room. Maybe try the couch where your desk is so that is the focal point when you walk into the room and then put your desk on the wall where the door is. I think you have too much furniture in the room so either get rid of the filing cabinet or fridge. The remaining item can be a side table to the couch or something. What about if you get rid of the bookshelf and find a 2 or 3 shelf one that can mount up on the wall to give more floor space. Maybe above your desk?

I think if you rotate the sofa to where your desk is now, and keep the rug the same way -- but move it in front, just under it might work really well. I hope you try it lol. So it is more centred. It will look super cozy I think. Even possibly think of moving the bookshelf --- I wonder if it would fit under the wall shelving you currently have?

Can you put sofa on the window side -- a little bit away from the wall, and then move the desk to where the sofa was originally? Also, would the filing cabinet fit under the right side of the desk? -- Is it the same height? so you have it sort of tucked away?
