Well, I'm 54 this yr and going through menopause... I've gotten more impatient and cranky... lol and blame menopause. The older I get the more I do realize I've been through SO much and I'm still here! Woohoo. I Try to enjoy everything I can and just be in the moment, I'm trying to learn meditation.

I was walking back to my car- in the school hallway- after dropping my oldest off for preschool. A Mom walking past me stuck out her bottom lip when she saw me CRYING…I was BLUBBERING…and she hugged and told me, “it gets better, Mama”. I’ve never forgotten her. And I repaid that kindness later with another Mom. ((Ahhh- B.C. (Before COVID) memories.🥸🥰

I just turned 60. I would say that you should always try new things. Consistently trying something you’ve never done keeps you young and excited about life. Also, with each decade you appreciate more of the little things. You sift out all the things that are truly not important.

Teresa, I so agree. I'll be 60 this year and it is truly accurate that age brings so much wisdom and I think about my 30 year old self & how much my perspective has changed. I have adult boys that I am so proud of, but sure miss those little days! One of the reasons I love watching Jessica's videos is seeing a young family growing.

I'm sixty two and so agree. My baby turns 40 tommorow! I can sit back and remember every moment that brought me pure joy! I look back at my younger self and high five the determined, strong and resilient woman I became and still am! I've been a US Army Soldier, wife, mother, caregiver, college student and am the sole person left in my immediate family. All the years I thought sixty was old and I'd never be there makes me laugh now! I love being my age. The things I've learned throughout my journey is what others deem Wisdom! For all afraid of aging... don't be! I love having grown into my skin and even though I may have some aches...I wouldn't give up a single moment! Happy 2022 everyone...it can only get better!

I’ve been thinking about life seasons lately too! I have a 15 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Their wide age gap puts me in two completely different seasons all the time. I feel like I’ve lost touch with actual reality for the last 5 years. It’s nuts! But now that our little is more self sufficient, I feel so ready to embrace ME again this year! I set goals and my biggest one is to allow myself to be selfish, take me time. I don’t have to suffer through and just roll through the motions anymore. My kids survived this long, I think they’ll be okay without me for a little time here and there.

I’m VERY aware I’m living the very best season ever. I look forward to retirement with my husband, but I also KNOW I am living the “good old days” right this instant. I’m 37 and have been with my husband since high school…I could go on a whole tangent… I have four kids 12, 8, 4 and 3…my life is chaos and stressful, but I am able to remind myself that someday I will miss this noise. Regardless of my stress and annoyance, I’m completely aware that someday I will sit in the quiet, or even semi-quiet when the two older boys are gone, and I will absolutely yearn for the chaos of these days. I love watching you “prepare” for your sweet baby! ❤️

Regarding seasons…I am 44 and have older teens. I am having a mini-Renaissance. My kids need my time a bit less (though my focus more) and I am able to try or re-try things (hello tap dancing!). I feel much more settled in my adulthood. I care less about the opinions of others and have healthier boundaries. When your kids are lil is precious…but teens are also freakin awesome. And YES TO LAUNDRY! Blessings!

I can't take the smell of goo gone. If you are sensitive to strong smells, try saturating the stickers in hand sanitizer. Put some on a paper towel and hold or tape it in place for a bit. It doesn't work quite as easily as goo gone, but it does work without the smell.

Jessie, I am commenting as I watch and stopping at 22:56. I am 23! I have been watching your videos since before you and Tyler were engaged. I have always found such peace and serenity in your videos. I unfortunately, like many, suffer from severe anxiety and depression. Watching your videos made me feel so safe and sound. Not only have I laughed with you, but I kind of feel like I’ve grown up with you? 😂 does that even make sense. You are such a bright light in my life! I love the feeling I have when I curl up with my doggo and watch your videos!! I am not in any way shape or form at the same point in my life as you (having a family etc.), I’m still in school going for a masters in speech pathology. But I know for a fact that years down the road when I am I will for sure be pulling up your videos for advice 🤣🤣 Love you Jess! Thank you for being you and sharing your life with us ❤️

I have been thinking about seasons of life lately, too. I’m 47 and I have a 16 year old and a 13 year old. I recently took on a huge project of going through all of our photos to add the best of the best to a new digital picture frame. It was so sweet to walk down memory lane and look at pictures of my kids at every age and stage. I do ‘t know where the freaking time has gone, but I do remember when those swaddles and sleep sacks were EVERYTHING!😊

I also think about seasons of life! I’m 28 and single. 10 years ago I graduated high school. It’s crazy to think about how much life has changed, and the environment and people that surround you. It never goes the way we imagine, haha. I never thought I’d be a licensed social worker and couldn’t wait to get the position I have now. That’s pretty much been my focus in recent years and up to today. It’s crazy to think about how much the pandemic has changed everyone’s lives. As I started to feel burn out and craved a change for a new position, I got into a car accident in October and had foot surgery. I certainly believe this was a time for me to take a look at myself and that God was telling me you need to take care, rest, and reset for your next move. Now I’m trying to figure out a new position in this field and appreciate every moment in life, such as still being able to walk, and not settle for anything less! Who knows what the new year will bring, but it’s so important to take things one day at a time. Things will work out, some way! Also, you’re so right about babies growing so quickly! My best friends had a baby and it’s crazy how much bigger he is when they send photos! Wishing you the best as you wait for your second baby girl. Your family is sweet and watching your channel brightens up my day! I love these chat videos! Lots of love 💕

I just turned 40 over two weeks ago. In my 30’s I got married, became an aunt two more times, had a lot of family drama from my family and my husband’s family, learned how to get rid of toxic people in my life as well as a toxic job, had a bunch of health issues, and my dog, who was my everything, died in October. Needless to say my 30’s were a tumultuous time in my life. It’s funny thinking back, but throughout my life every other decade has been awful. My child years were good, my teens were bad, my 20’s were amazing, my 30’s sad, so my 40’s better be bomb! So far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.

10 years ago I was 27, getting married and starting a graduate program. We only had one dog (have lost that dog 🌈 and now have 4) and were living in an apartment (we now own a home). We (hubby and I) have been through moving away from family, death of parents and grandparents, deaths of beloved pets, going back to school for a doctorate, and have jobs where we have to PAY taxes at the end of the year. We have struggled with PTSD and depression. Looking back though, I can say that we are stronger as people and stronger as a couple for everything that we have been through. I’m in my ‘dream job’ (that some days I want to leave) and we are able to make 5 year plans and talk about future business ideas and I’m able to play with makeup and write novels and for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t go back and change any of it. ❤️ Love your positive content, Jessica. You are like a friend that always makes me feel relaxed, motivated, and I have never used ‘it is what it is’ more in my whole life! 😂

I’m 44 my oldest is in her first year of college and my other child is a junior in High School they are 18 months apart. It’s been a very strange season of life, this time. My husband and I have kind of rediscovered each other even while the youngest keeps us running with 3 hockey teams. We love our time with them and it’s been so hard on my husband with my daughter going away to school. I miss her of course! But when I feel sad I feel so happy that she’s embarking on her dreams, having so much fun, and making so many friends. How can I help but be happy my kids are happy and growing into amazing young adults. I love all versions of your videos!

I feel like I am entering the winter of my life. It may be long or it may be brief, but I have worked all of my life to enjoy this season. I have to say, I didn't always take time to smell the roses along the way. Life can be hard and some seasons are better than others, just try and take it all in while you are living it.

Okay, first, literally folding laundry right now watching this video, so yes please let’s fold laundry together. Second, it’s super cool to hear you talk about your life ten years ago at 23, since I’m currently 22 (and very much considering going back to school to become a teacher). So the thought that I could be where you are in ten years is both a little daunting and incredibly comforting.

The best piece of advice I ever got came from a family counselor when my kids were in their late teens, and it is that you cannot control other people. It may seem obvious, but when your kids are moving into young adulthood, it can be difficult to let go of control. She said that I should focus on my own actions and reactions, and be in control of myself. I have applied this advice to 9ther relationships, and I am a much better and happier person.

I have a 2.5 year old, 1.5 year old and 4 month old (all girls), and yes seeing your baby in an outfit all of your children wore melts your heart! My first has brown eyes and medium brown hair and some things really looked good on her whereas my second was blonde hair blue eyes and other colors looked amazing on her. You still have those moments in the outfits even with a second or 3rd child.

Those sweet little baby clothes make me feel all warm and fuzzy. My parents are 90 and 92. One grandmother lived until 103 1/2, one grandfather lived until his late 80's. One grandparent died in his late 50's of a stroke in 1957 and the other died of cancer in her 50's in 1963. Longevity runs in my family so at 68 I consider myself at the end of autumn. I feel that at 70 I'll be in the winter of my life. I get 5 minutes with my own thoughts when I'm in bed, waiting to go to sleep. I impressed with the drawer dividers. They work perfectly. I wouldn't return them. They seem worth the price. xo~linda

Ten years ago I would daydream of the life I have now crazy to think back to that. I am a first-year preschool teacher, a new homeowner, and a mom of a one-year-old. I have navigated through all the first times of life in a pandemic that's also crazy to think. I love your vlogs I've been watching since GIGI was in your belly.

I took off work for my oldest son’s first day of Kindergarten. He could’ve cared less. He was excited about his school supplies and his desk. He didn’t look at me one time. I was full time. I went part time when my second son was born. My work crammed a full time job into three days a week. My son didn’t even remember it that way. He thought I worked full time. I agree, it is harder for the parents at times.

My “baby” will be 19 next month! I remember my mom saying how she wished she had all the innovative stuff for babies that my brother and I had for ours when we were born and just a few days ago my brother and I were talking about all the time saving and cool stuff for babies now and wishing WE’D had those! 😂 Enjoy this season of babies and children because I swear it flies by so fast! Now I am looking forward to the being a grandma season (trying not to push my daughter and her fiancé but man, it’s hard not to 😂😂😂😂)

10 years ago I was so lost and alone and confused but now I have Jesus and my life is fulfilled and worth it and filled with peace and pure joy 🥰 This life is SO short compared to where we’ll spend eternity when we die…that’s what I constantly think about. I love my daughter and just living and experiencing things and growing but when you really think about it, the things of this world don’t even matter because we can’t take anything with us. The only thing that matters to me is serving God ❤️

Hi Jessica - I’ve been thinking a lot about seasons of life, too. I’m 52 and the mom of 2 girls who are 14 and 11. I love that you are having a second girl! I wish I had you as a friend when I was pregnant and had young kids ~ your perspective and advice are spot on and whenever I listen to you talking about what you’ve learned about motherhood, I keep thinking “I wish someone told me that 12 years ago,” I’m also so impressed that you didn’t cry talking about Gigi’s first day of preschool! I remember crying so much the first day I dropped off my girls. Thank you for all of the videos! You are the very first KZfaqr I ever watched and you’re always my favorite!

We watched every vlogmas of yours and loved everyone of them so we would love to see vlogs/chatting while folding laundry, putting groceries away basically anything lol. For me, watching your vlogs where you chat with us it is like sitting with my daughter, at least for me, which I treasure every moment of those. I am a grandma now and I still remember my kids first day of preschool and have recently been lucky enough to experience the same thing with my grandson ❤. I am so glad we took pictures to capture those moments. Your responses to the little baby clothes reminded me of when our second grandchild came and it was a girl and when I saw some of her clothes I thought boy I wish some of these clothes came in my size..... so freaking cute lol. Take care Jessica!

Oh, your mama heart! Everyone is different I suppose, but for me, every big step away from me was really hard emotionally. First day of day care (he was just in an in-home day care 2 days a week at first but I cried after I dropped him off), then kindergarten, then first day of middle school, first day of high school and I won't EVEN get into the day I left him at college and walked away, got in the car, and then flew back home, halfway across the country. Ok, I lied -- I will say that when I walked back in the front door of the home in which he was raised, I fell on the floor bawling and then couldn't go into his room for weeks. IT WAS SO PAINFUL! But you know what? That's our job - -to give them the confidence and skills to make their own lives, away from us. And that's what I did. He's a super independent young man now. I succeeded. But I still miss him being in my home every day.

I’m 24 and got engaged over the Christmas holidays. We just set a wedding date for July 2023. It’s crazy to think about how far I’ve come.. 5 years ago I was so depressed I couldn’t get out of bed. I failed all of my classes and got kicked out of my dream school. I really thought my life was over. The idea that I could have missed out on all this happiness.. I’m glad I held on. I plan to start a family relatively soon and I like having you as an “adult” friend who knows about marriage and family and life in general. Thanks for all of the work you put into your videos!

10 years ago I was 17 years old and in my last year of high school (this time of year) and started University in September. I was in a miserable relationship and a lot of my "friends" were actually not that nice or supportive. Honestly, I am basically the same person at my core, but I have become so strong and much better and standing up for myself. I have recently gotten into my second relationship and he is a wonderful man who is so much better suited for me. I also have a much better group of friends who are truly supportive and care about me ❤️❤️

I'm 34 and my son turns 14 in two months. He's an only child so it's so nice to have him be independent and be able to focus on myself again. I've been back in school for a year and a half and I currently have a 3.8 GPA. It's been a really good distraction for me during COVID. I'm currently in the process of really trying to simplify our lives by cutting back on buying and donating what we don't need. Then I want to focus on some home projects.

I’m in the early high school, & just before middle school, season of life. Plus, we moved right after everything hit the fan, in May 2020…so maneuvering a year of distance learning and now navigating how to “let them” socialize and make friends, while also being as cautious as we can.. I’ll tell ya… it’s a trip. Luckily, both of them are old enough to be vaccinated so treading our way carefully through it all.

One of the reasons that I love you channel so much is that we are in a similar season of life. I’m a couple years younger and my first baby (girl) will be two in March. She just started daycare/preschool last week and it is SO hard! Also, we were gifted one of the magnetic sleepers and I was washing it constantly! We just wanted her to live in it because it was fantastic, but we couldn’t swallow that pill to buy more.

I love your vlogs and hearing about this season of your life. 10 years ago I was pregnant with my fourth and last baby and deep in the middle of toddler/baby years. All my kids are in school now and I have a driver. It went so fast, but I’ve been so happy to discover how much I love this stage of life. I think the trick is to love where you are. Thanks again, Jessica!

Loved this! Thanks for sharing, and recommendations. Don't have kiddos, but nanny and teach. Still enjoy seeing kid stuff. So cute. Happy for you, and your family. 🌻 These videos are warm, and comforting. Nice, down to Earth, every day, break from exhausting internet drama, if that makes sense. We bought an RV, and are organizing it before hitting the road. Always open to organization finds. May have to get those bins. As for season of life: The Lord is walking me through a long, deep season of healing. 🦋 Learning about boundaries. This year my husband is trying to give himself "more time then he thinks he needs", and I'm "working on going with the flow" more. ☺ Look forward to the next video. Much love. 💝

I’m 34 and have an 8 year old and a 15 year old. It’s crazy how much different the seasons feel. I can’t even remember babies anymore and it makes me so sad, but I absolutely could not have any more kids. We are heading towards independence and it’s exciting, also! We still have a younger kid, but it’s totally different when they’re able to help themselves a lot more.

I’m an a little older than all my classmates who are also student teaching and I always think about how far I’ve come on my own with out the help of family. I took a huge break to have my kids and now I’ve been back to acting/theater/dance for 6 years and I love it, but i do miss my babies. I’m embracing this stage of life, but I do miss them being really little. I feel so blessed to have had most of my life without the use of iphones/computers and I cherish that, for sure!

I’m kind of late (casually binge watching your videos 😂) But I’m 25, almost married for two years, in the military with my husband & am 26 weeks with my first baby/pregnancy… I honestly spend a lot of time with my thoughts. It’s so true though, looking back at who I used to be and what I’ve gotten through. My husband actually found a card I got him for our first anniversary and it just brought me to tears. Our first year being married was rough, we still have our disagreements but nothing even CLOSE to what it used to be. Now we’re expecting our first baby & I’ve gotten a lot more independent & just happier overall. Couldn’t be more proud of myself to be where I am now

My son is 15 months old, and we always planned on having 2 kids, but my post partum has been such a dark period of my life (on meds and on the mend) and all these health problems have come up from having my son so now we won’t be having a second child. It’s a battle everyday feeling like I’m not enough for my family and that I’ve let them down. It tugs at my heart that you’re having another baby, I’m so happy for you, but also sad for me. Maybe one day it will be different. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Definitely makes me feel less alone 💞

I remember the first day of kindergarten for my oldest daughter when I sent her to school in a pretty dress and her hair done up with ribbons. What walked out of school was the anthesis of what she looked like in the morning. She looked like someone picked her up and shook her out so that her hair was completely disheveled and her clothes were a mess. She fell asleep in the car before I even pulled out of the parking spot! Now she's 37 and I don't know how the heck that happened. LOL Enjoy these monents with GiGi and the new baby because before you turn around your 67 like me.

Love your vlogs 😊 It really is crazy it’s been two years since the beginning of the pandemic. My second daughter was born March 18,2020, literally right at the start! It’s so wild to think how different her life has been from my oldest. The socialization definitely was lacking except for close family. But she is of course doing just fine. My oldest started Kindergarten this year and oh my gosh that first day killed me 😢😂 She handled it so well and absolutely loves school 😊

I love the idea of a fold laundry with me! I also have been begging for a clean with me from you for basically years! I’m in the season of life roughly where you were 10 years ago, honestly a little ahead of that spot. I have a Master’s, I have my own classroom and school choral department, I have a cat and an apartment with the person I’m going to marry, I’ll be engaged in a few years. However, I’m also dealing with realizing that I have ADHD, being a new-ish teacher in the middle of a pandemic, and the uncertainty of being an adult on my own. It’s all in the plan, though. I’m actually doing well!

You are going to love the one day of preschool. They come home with so many funny stories and crafts. It is so cool seeing them bloom. You get time to run errands or relax. Both of you will enjoy your time together more. Only bad side is the germs. They will catch everything first year of pre-k or kinder but better to get it over with. My daughter came home after her first day and I asked her what she learned today she said "We learned all about germs and oh yeah also that boogers are germs." Poor prek teachers. :)
