These are the best. I love the end of the night chats. And yes the 90s. I remember only talking on the phone but then once I graduated high school we were able to text using the phones you have to click on the number however many times to find the letter needed. Fun times. Lol. I’ve literally watched technology change over the past 20 years. Wow.

When I was younger if I couldn't sleep I would recite scenes from Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone to myself. I definitely wasn't able to do the whole movie but I did the Harry finding out he was a wizard from Hagrid and the Ollivander scene flawlessly. Lol the Sweeney Todd conversation just reminded me of that.

I can vaguely picture the random lines and circles she did. I need to ask her if she still does that. The girls make my heart smile so much! Every birthday party that I went to in the 90s started with a paper invitation and an address that my parents just had to find with no electronic technology. Baffling. I wouldn’t cut it as a 90s mom.

On the meringue dessert, Tyler needs to try making a Pavlova. It's a classic in New Zealand/Australia especially over Christmas. When done right, the outside is crispy while being light and fluffy inside like marshmallow. Often served with whipped cream and kiwifruit or berries to cut through the sweetness of the Pavlova and cream. 🇳🇿🇭🇲

I loved the 80’s and the 90’s things were simpler. Life is too complicated for young people now. Too much technology. Families are too busy trying to make ends meet. it’s so nice to see you spending time with your girls and enjoying them while they are little they grow up way too fast. I have enjoyed your vlogmas. Your a wonderful couple. You have a keeper in Tyler Jess.

The thing my husband and I do that makes Christmas day SO much more enjoyable and relaxing is having our big family meal on Christmas Eve. Baking cookies, decorating them, etc after dinner so that Santa has fresh cookies out decorated by the kids. And, that way, on Christmas day, we just eat leftovers all day long as we please. We get to set up toys and just enjoy watching the kids play

President Fillmore….I did a presentation on him in the 5th grade…everyone had a different president and he was the one I got stuck with. I don’t remember a thing I learned about him, but I remember thinking that no one would care because he wasn’t that memorable haha

My husband and I with another couple were on a weekend trip a few years ago.... We were in Indianapolis, visiting from Columbus, Ohio. We were driving around trying to figure what to do.... I was looking at a map of Indianapolis and found President Benjamin Harrison's home, which was just a few blocks away from where we were. I was all excited (because I love anything history), but had to convince everyone else. We all ended up loving it...absolutely loving it. it was one of the most interesting homes I had ever visited. If you ever have a chance to go, then go.... it is about 1-1/2 hour to 2 hour tour, then you get to look around the grounds, outbuildings, old carriage house, welcome center, etc...which when we went had his original carriage in it.... A wonderful tour and while in the area, not too far away is the Indiana War Memorial and Museum on East Michigan St..... Make it a whole day visit. There are lots of books on Milliard Fillmore on Amazon... Our President from 1850-1853.

We are allowed to put 2 extra trash bags outside our barrels for the 2 weeks after Christmas. They don't specific size of bag, so I get huge contractor bags and clean out my house.

History nerd here! William Henry Harrison was president for a couple of months, Benjamin Harrison is his grandson who was an amazing president and very ahead of his time in regards to civil rights. 😊

There's a such a good feeling of changing out of all day pj's into fresh new PJs and then going to bed. 🤪 I homeschool my kids and this happens .... Often. Lol My kids will sometimes take a shower mid day or early afternoon and then change into pj's because they know we're not probably going anywhere.... It cracks me up though. 3 pm and in PJs. 🤣 And I think you might be on to something Jess... The day after Christmas is much more enjoyable as a parent now. Lol I'm the Grinch because it greatly dislike Christmas....so much stress, but I deeply love vlogmas videos. 🤣

Tyler, if it makes you feel any better about the couch... I say this to people a lot. Ethical manufacturing is expensive. Recycling/using recycled materials is astronomical expensive, paying people a truly living wage is expensive, offering benefits to employees is expensive, quality control is expensive, shipping is so incredibly expensive, thoughtful design is expensive. So while the couch is expensive, if the company truly does all you want it, its worth the cost.

The basement turned out so good!! What a beautiful family space My dad saves all Christmas wrap, tissue and boxes in the garage for 2 weeks just in case we accidentally threw away a gift or something during clean up.

I used to write song lyrics too!! Beatles lyrics, mostly. I would go by album. And I remember reciting I Am The Walrus while running “THE mile” (worst day of the year) in 9th grade. Hadn’t thought of that in YEARS! I’m with Jess, this year the day after Christmas was so fun (my kids are 5, 4 & 3 yrs).

Oh Pinocchio, just trying to get comfy on the couch. Our dogs do that too and we call it nesting. One of them will push pillows and blankets on the ground or dig for two seconds to get the perfect nest and then lay down. The other has to be told to lay down otherwise he will dig for an entire minute or more before his nest is ready. We joke that he's not good at making nests lol

The best deviled eggs are the Hubert Keller ones with Smoked Salmon (if you like lox). Super easy to make and highly recommend.

We have the Dream sofa from Bob’s Discount - a dupe for the RH Cloud sofa and the sactjonal. We absolutely love it! It was a fraction of the cost, and my only downside is that it only comes in 2 colors. Definitely worth looking into, though
