I remember the days I was in SG and enjoyed the times I visited Kinokuniya there - so spacious and relaxing. But the mangas were so pricey at about 16 SGD, wherein here in Tokyo, only half the price. Oh well, cos they're imported items...

i still find it scary to see many people but then again i heard that singapore is doing si much better in handling covid jdndjjd and omg why are the books so big!!!

Indeed scary to go outside but after our circuit breaker (lockdown/quarantine) here in SG everything goes on in a slowly but surely pace. Hoping everything is going well also there in the PH. And yahhhh, ikr, the books are not only huge but heavy too. 😂

How I wish they'll have a branch here in the Philippines.... national bookstore here in the Philippines sucks they mainly prioritize school supplies than books or mangas

I went there but I can’t find the manga section so I ended up buying harry potter books..anyone knows where the manga section is? :

Hello! This branch is located at Takashimaya, Ngee An Mall, Orchard Rd Singapore. If you're looking for the manga section, you can easily locate it near the cashier station where there's a lot of funkopop and anime action figures. If you roam around the whole store 360 degree you will see it.

hey guys. i am from pakistan and i love reading books and i just loved this video of this book shop. it was just lovely. if i ever get to go to singapore, i will go to this book shop and buy 20 books. one can spend hours and hours looking at book here. great video man!.

I read both fiction (like fantasy, classics) and non-fiction (like self-help, autobiography,) books! 😀

I've mostly been to their Bugis store, and it has been ages since I've been to their Plaza Singapura store, but I've never visited their Singaporean flagship store! (0:39) Meanwhile, the first section I go to in a bookshop or public library is the children's section! That would probably already give you a taste of how unusual my reading interests are compared to most adults. (0:55) If you noticed, in the corner of the shelf sign is a code, that is not only used internally by staff, but is also useful for those of us who check stocks on their website* as the shelf number is also displayed there! *The shop section of their website seems to block Pale Moon ("Firefox Compatibility" mode) and desktop Firefox, but does allow Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (which spoofs itself as Google Chrome), and mobile Firefox! I also just realised that there's a link to the website I mentioned over in the video description. (0:57) I find it interesting to see what the reading interests of others are like. In comparison, graphic novels on my TBR include "InvestiGators" and "Bird & Squirrel". (10:05) Nice! While I primarily read stuff targeted towards children, I thought I did read a bit of YA fiction, but I never did outside of e-book samples, it's just that the closest that I've ever come to reading YA fiction is reading biographies/memoirs. (10:21) I spy a copy of "Pumpkinheads" by Rainbow Rowell! While it isn't on my TBR, I had previously heard about it through Twitter, since I get most of my book recommendations there from it recommending me various authors/illustrators and publishers, then stuff gets retweeted into my feed. (10:43) "The Mysterious Benedict Society"… that's been lower down on my TBR for a while, after hearing about that series through someone forgetting to clear their session on a NLB Public Libraries catalogue kiosk (to be fair, I intentionally don't manually clear the session in order to show random people a taste of my reading interests, and it automatically clears after 30 minutes of use anyway). (11:09) I spy a copy of "Return to Roar" by Jenny McLachlan and Ben Mantle! I heard about this through Twitter last year, and had added the first book in the trilogy, "The Land of Roar", to my Goodreads "to shelf" list since I wasn't able to tell at the time whether it'd be something I'd be interested in reading, and I have 2 Goodreads "Want to Read" lists, the actual list that's automatically created upon sign-up, and a list I call "Want to Read (low priority)". As of this comment, there are 129 listings in the former, 112 in the latter, and 204 books in my "to shelf" list.
