Appreciate the in depth review. Looks like the issues pointed out by Anthony M in his "independent review" weren't fixed as of 5 months ago. The false thumb catch and the lack of trigger protection are deal breakers for me. I ordered one today (April 2024) but if those issues are still there, I'll be sending it right back immediately.

I like this holster. Works really well for hot weather carry when wearing gym shorts & a tank top. Fall thru Spring I prefer a traditional holster with cover garb like a flannel or coat. Nice to see an actual review tho. It is comfortable carrying an original S&W Shield sized carry gun all day.

I drank the koolaid and bought one of these a few months ago. My thinking was that you get what you pay for, so I assumed it would much better than other belly band holsters considering it cost a lot more. I especially agree with a couple of points on this video, first is trigger protection; essentially there is none. Just as easy to accidently pull the trigger as any other belly band. If this was my only problem with it, it's still would have been enough to make me not buy it. Supposedly they're working on that problem. It's also very difficult to draw because the grip is so low and close to the holster. And finally, re-holstering is almost impossible while wearing it. I wore it around the house a few times with a dry pistol, these issues - especially trigger security - made me decide to never use use it with a loaded gun. Then (my fault) because I was disgusted, I threw it aside and missed my 60 day return window. Now I'm stuck with a piece of junk I'll never use and paid $82 plus dollars for. My opinion is don't buy one.

The VNSH seems like an inferior knockoff of the 3Speed holster. I've been carrying solely with the 3speed for years and I've never had any issues with comfort, printing, or safety. Everyone has their own criteria for their EDC holster, so these types of holsters are not for everyone. What I mostly like about the 3Speed is the comfort and that no part of the gun ever touches my body while carrying.

Purchased one a couple of weeks ago, it is a decent holster. The problems I am having is that the holster has no canting capability. It's also very difficult to reholster the pisto and the extra mag pockets are too small making very difficult to tuck an extra magazine. One more thing I'd like to add, we the customers are literally designing this holster for VNSH to later reap the benefits.

I have one, most likely one of the first, my main concern from the beginning was releasing the retention strap. With all the experimenting they supposedly did, how did they miss that, first thing I noticed, was going to return. Everything he brings up, legitimate but no concern to me. I practiced for about 2 weeks before carrying and drawing was slow at first, got faster but of course no way as fast as my Lock Leather. The mag pouches needed tightened up for my Ruger EC9S but even doing it by hand, no big deal. Fell out once before the fix. I usually use my Lock Leather belt mag carrier anyway. Now this is stupid but, I'm a geez and do a lot of walking, if I wear this my back is much better the day after. Main reason I use it so much. I only paid in the high 30's for mine, some kind of limited deal, but would I pay what they want now.....nope. I use it probably 5 out of 7 days I carry but if I didn't have it, or would lose it, or (????) I wouldn't lose sleep. Hope this helps.

I thought the same thing you did about the straps. They should be adjustable on both sides and should be ridged and not just floppy nylon straps. Pockets for the straps with Velcro in the pockets would let you put the straps anywhere for better fit. I have always hated products the place the strap over the grip and not the back of the slide where I think it belongs. Contradicts what we teach as firearms instructors as far as drawing when you have a proper grip for proper control of the pistol. Think it’s an easy fix for the company to fix.

I just bought one as well….very mixed feelings. A regular P365, regular hellcat, and CSX will all fit out of the box. However, anything larger (HK P2000 SK, HK USP compact, Colt officers 1911) will not fit as the stitching is too tight and impinges on the trigger guards preventing the holster from accepting the weapon. Also no ability to cant. As the creator of this video states the magnetic strap is only adjustable on one side which is a huge disappointment. I’ll be contacting vnsh first thing tomorrow. If you’re on the fence about this holster, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. $85 for what you get isn’t acceptable. You can buy a much cheaper option and Frankenstein it to your liking for much less than $85.

Seems like a 1911 would have to be carried in condition 3 and not condition 1 (cocked and locked), since the retention strap could be depressing the grip safety, and with no guard protecting the SA trigger, it might be fairly easy to discharge the gun in the holster if the thumb safety does not remain fully engaged.
@MarshalZhukov
@MarshalZhukov 8 ай бұрын
I suppose it could also be possible to adjust the angle of the retention strap to go over the end of the slide, too. Even with the hammer back, the retention strap would then maybe theoretically act as a stop if some how the thumb safety was off and the grip safety depressed and some how the trigger engaged. But there is a lot more positive retention by the strap with it around the grip safety, too. In order for me to pull the trigger on the Glock I put in the holster, I really had to dig in for it to disengage that trigger safety. Still not saying it would be impossible for any trigger to some how be depressed inside that holster, but appears it would be highly unlikely. And it also appears VNSH has already begun to implement a plastic insert to help protect and cover that area of the holster to prevent any accidental engagement from the trigger by some outside force. But you have raised a good and possible concern for the 1911 carriers.

This holster is not really striker fire friendly for safety. 1911's are fine as long as you setup the snap properly so the grip safety is not depressed. The thumb safety won't drop while being holstered. A comfortable holster

I would not want loops on the outside of the belt.. it would catch and ruin clothing.. would make no sense in order for more attachments. I am a female who is about comfortability, I don’t carry on my body if I have holsters digging into my body. I own this belly band and find its great! There will never be a 💯 band or holster to please everyone. Everyone is different on what they like or dislike about items. The more you wear it and work with it, the more comfortable you get with the band. I would recommend the belly band!

Maybe the snap order should be reversed so that the trigger finger can be used to break retention. That way it can be returned to waiting over the trigger well quickly. Which would leave the ever so important thumb to proceed with the draw.

It's not as simple as just pulling the trigger. There was a considerable effort exerted to be able to. It also sounds like VNSH is already got a plan to insert a piece of plastic that will cover the trigger area. I updated the description with a couple other videos that talk about this issue.
@ShadowDragonXXI
@ShadowDragonXXI 8 ай бұрын
@@MarshalZhukov that's fair, but until I see that resolution in action (and full production) I can only judge it based on the evidence in front of me. The fact you were able to push through the material to pull the trigger is itself unacceptable regardless the effort. It's not like you cut through it or slipped a shim past an exposed edge. You were able to defeat the protective cover by simply pushing on it. That's like opening the padlock on your shed by slapping it with a padlock. To be frank I'm glad you showcased that fatal flaw. Apparently the guy who runs the company actually pays attention to these kinds of reviews, so if it gets enough attention he'll hopefully push up the fix.
