you haven't seen anything yet Japan has multiple all female led or all female bands ranging from Band Maid and Nemophila to Gacharic Spin and Aldious My favorite though is the Iron Maiden inspired and 80's metal inspired Lovebites (Not Def Leppard or Judas Priest they got it from Lzzy Hales Love bites and so do I song) formed in 2016 by ex destrose members Bassist Miho (Steve Harris is her Idol of Iron Maiden) and Drummer Haruna (Huge Helloween fan) They recruited their dual guitarists M&M (Midori-Blonde Shredder and Miyako The golden Touch) Best guitar duo in the last 30 years they are truly in sync and Haruna is a beast on the drums like a metronome. Asami used to sing R&B but when she joined Lovebites she learned to sing power metal and is like the female equivalent of Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden with her operatic style of singing. Sadly in 2021 Miho left for personal reasons so Lovebites went on a yearlong hiatus. In the summer of 2022 they held auditions open to all for a new bassist and ending up going with internet sensation with over 650,000 fans already a 20 years old a bass prodigy Fami. In february 2023 they released their 4th album Judgement Day (Ist with Fami) and in March they had 2 days of concerts they are now live albums The song I chose to share with you is a gem that they have live with both bassists I linked both songs so you can compare them. With Miho: The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdp6jbOGqN3df4E.html With Fami: Hammer of wrath /Live heavens gate kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pq6iirWFlbDJkZc.html

I wouldn't say all of their stage shows are this elaborate. They had a lot to work with in Budokan. But unlike a lot of other bands in this space, I've noticed they put a lot more into the story of their songs with the choreography. They aren't just about bouncing around on the stage like a typical metal band, they choreograph all their stuff. And what can also be seen here is because of the unique setup they were allowed to get at Budokan (just massive in size) they had special choreography just for this show that matched the stage layout. They center was a tower where the band was under it, the displays above them, and a stage above that, that they could go on. They had two long arms from the center stage that Yui and Moa used that had platforms that moved along it or they could just run the length of it, and the circular center stage rotated. Most stages are just static....lol. I have the entire concert downloaded, both nights, and watch it occasionally because this was just an exceptional two-night concert that they put on.

At the concert and on the Blu-Ray, that ending does not fade out. It is actually the intro to "The One", which was written to be the second half of this song. Two songs that were actually composed as a one. To increase your respect, Su's ear monitor was out during at least the first parts of this song. She judged where she was because she could feel the drums and see the other girls movements. But imagine trying to dance to that track without the click-track, which is what she was doing.

This song is probably Babymetal's single greatest musical achievement in their storied career. Tales is easily the most complex and demanding song in their entire discography and it remains a miracle they they were able to perform it live at all. This is the one and only live performance of this song at what is arguably their greatest live show to date, when they played Tokyo Dome for two nights in front of 55,000 fans each night. TotD is Babymetal's tribute to the legendary prog metal pioneers Dream Theater, and particularly to the song "Dance of Eternities". Mike Portnoy's son showed him this song, and Mike gave it the prog metal seal of approval. The piano sequence at the end is actually the intro to the following song "The One". Originally, "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" was a single song, that was later split into two songs.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥 Pretty soon you'll get a tons of comments filling you with a lot of suggestion and info about this group and this special song. Here's my humble attempt to help you out with your BM journey to experience this unique amazing group. Nice you got this suggestion, i would love to watch your first BM reaction but either way let's start with a brief of basic info about them. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. This is another special song from their 2nd album Metal Resistance, and this one is even more meaningful, it was performed prior to last and ending the show. It took several years for KobaMetal (the producer and mastermind of this group) to create this progressive metal song along with "The One" which is the next song, he's a Dream Theater fan. This song was performed only one time at Tokyo Dome 2016 with 55K fans witnessing this special and one of a kind live concert, people from all over the world attended this two nights performing their entire catalogue by that time from 1st and 2nd album, only song they didn't performed was From Dusk Till Dawn. There's a lot of crazy transitions and dope time signature changes. Is one of the hardest song they ever performed, even some troubles suddenly happened when performing this but fortunately they made it through like a real pro. I always love the reaction over that piano section with the cutesy dance moves. The piano outro is no other than "The One" melody announcing the next song with this peaceful bridge. Both songs were originally part of the same piece but it was split in two parts. The One is a song dedicated to all of us their fans, we're The One, and that should be the perfect follow up, although isn't a progressive metal song, more like hard rock ballad with progressive rock. The Kami Band is a set of elite musicians selected among the best in Japan, according to the lore, they're here to help with the metal sound, kami means roughly "god", and they represent spiritual entities, you're not always see the same members on the stage but around this early BM era they were pretty much th same band switching only the guitarists here and there, the members this night are: Mikio Fujioka (R.I.P.) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. This time you're watching their regular costume back then wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint representing those spiritual entities, after 2019 you'll see them using masks and in the current World Tour all of them are different members and Western musicians. There's a reason for this performed only one time and it should stay that way for everyone who witnessed this special moment in BM career. I'm gonna try to leave in my next suggestion where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. It's been a while since we don't have such talented and wise vocal coach to give such an insightful analysis and so interesting breakdown, I'll love to see you again with more. See you next time🦊🤘❤

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grR2nKeIr86WdnU.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZhjapV0mraufIE.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrtja6aK0Nampn0.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN2jnNGe3brckqM.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLiTbMeTzM-mgH0.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM1oiMKblc3UfH0.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br1yd8x9srS-k3k.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLmaqZyAvtq7imQ.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9BdiLR60dfXeYU.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7mqjJyVsZyVY4U.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8qEZNyovriZg6M.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9lzqbyHs8uoYKs.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLF_f5mnmLPIYpc.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g552ftie286Rp2w.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs1ghdydyM2cdmQ.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5pgidCFrbnMZJc.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/naqemJOp3NTNhJs.html There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b75lqc1ikrnLj2g.htmlsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘

@@jakemuller8626 hello Jake, I see your name a lot in the comments on various Babymetal videos and when I saw this I had to reach out. You seem to be the one person even more obsessed with this band than me! I have followed their every move only over the past four years or so, and they are along with Perfume and Band-Maid my favorite musical act. I have watched more live performances on blu-ray and KZfaq than probably any other band in my life, with several moments being among the best live things I’ve ever seen. Maybe I’ll send you a list of my personal favorites-all of them have brought tears to my eyes. I think they were born of one of the most audacious concepts in musical history, and honestly something I avoided for a long while until I saw the live clip of Karate at Download, and then I could no longer resist. The Other One is my album of the year, and seeing them in Seattle two months ago was the live highlight of my year, or past several years actually. So many new fans have come aboard recently, and I am just so thrilled that things are working out the way they are for them. Su is the kind of person (and Moa and Momo too) that I sincerely believe can help heal the world. They have given me so much joy and inspiration, and I will be forever grateful for that. Really deeply changed my life.

That was just awesome. Thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL here on YT. One of my favorite hobbies is watching reactors trying to count to "Tales of the Destinies" time signatures, hehe... 😁 This is an "impossible" song, a prog metal masterpiece that took Koba several years to complete in honor of one of his favorite bands, Dream Theater. Very difficult to perform live and so unique that they have only played it once live. And you just witnessed that very unique performance. The piano bridge in the end leads to the next song, "The ONE". Which is actually a spinoff from "TOTD". Until next time! 🤘🦊

Great "first" reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 The piano at the end did actually continue on the night and it was the bridge into the next song (and the concert finale) 'The ONE' - a song written for and dedicated to the fans (also called 'The One'). I think you are already finding that BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music). BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but wherever possible it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement. They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. From their first appearance in October 2012 the Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it. Jake Muller already left you a list of suggestions for more songs and which performances will be safe to use.

Thanks for reacting to this video. I'm really glad for a reaction by a music professional who cares what is actually going on. The "Official Band Score" has been published by Yamaha Music (two volumes, their complete first and second albums). The time signatures are intermixtures of 4/4, 6/8, 7/8, 11/8, 12/8, 2/4, 3/4, and 5/4, very often interjected for a only one or two bars at a time. Something I have found interesting, listen for the background triplet figures at 7:33 (all timings your video, "The One will be with you" just after Su's fitst E5) and its half-speed recapitulation at 12:38. Also the massive chromatic return to basic tonality at 11:21. This is my number one favorite BABYMETAL song. I have a secret desire to see it performed as a field routine by a drum&bugle corps.

One thing that's interesting in this performance is the first time Su hit the E5. This was over-dubbed in post production. In Fan videos, you can clearly hear Su blowing a tire on the note. If you watch the video back, you can see a moment of panic on Su's face when it happens. She nails it the second time. Quite frankly, in all the live videos I've seen, it astounds me how Su is able to do what she does, and she rarely misses a note. She is simply one of the best performers in the world.

And there are still a lot of backing vocals, which were sung by two younger girls. The lead singer was 18, and the younger girls were 16.

I'm sure it's probably already been mentioned but Tales of the Destinies is the sister song of The One... They both used to be one long song but they broke them up into two beautiful songs. TotD has only been performed one time live and for good reason. It's dang hard to play and dance too at least from my perspective. The piano at the end of Tales of the Destinies leads into the final song of the night at the Tokyo Dome Concert (55,000 sold out) of The One. At this particular concert Everyone at the concert was given a remote controlled light up Neck brace(which symbolizes the neck brace given to Su-Metal in the Music video for Headbanger by the God of Metal) that would illuminate during certain times in the concert. So if you want to hear the rest of the piano part listen to The One Live @ Tokyo Dome. Su-metal the lead singer wasn't prepared to see every single person's neck brace to light up during the song and she wasn't really paying attention until the house lights or spot light came down a little and she saw all the lights in the crowd of the WHOLE stadium lit up. The Look on her face was Priceless-ly dumbfounded.

Thanks for the reaction and the attempt to follow the time signatures. I'm sure that this performance took a lot of rehearsal and it's made even more amazing when you know that Su's ear piece with the click track went down immediately before the performance - although I can't imagine what the click track to TOTD sounds like. TOTD is my favourite BM song and I consider it to be one of three early prog songs that BM has, the other two being "The One" and "Rondo of Nightmare". Their latest release, "The Other One", also has some progie songs ie "Mirror Mirror" and "Monochrome" and you might enjoy those. I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD just for "TOTD" and "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of TOTD and it's the height of Kobayashi's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's very obviously a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo one another. It's interesting to note that Dream Theater performed at UK Sonisphere 2013 where BM had an early international success and I wonder if Kobametal saw them perform. This could have been a complete disaster but Babymetal bring their unique singing and dancing talents to the song and the Kami Band are fantastic...as they always are. To so obviously reference another awesome piece of music and yet still be different and brilliant on its own takes a lot of skill...and either guts or hubris. I love the way the ending resolves from the prog metal madness into a beautifully lyrical piano solo and the Charlies Angels ending is cute. Kobametal says that it took a couple of years to get TOTD to it's final state. I really think of Babymetal as Kobametal's massive multi-year art project and this is the height of that original concept.

Nina, I loved watching your reaction to TOTD, which is my all time favourite BM song. I really enjoy watching people such as yourself, with high level musical knowledge appreciating the technical brilliance of this performance. I love listening to musically gifted people break down a song because it gives me a greater appreciation of the talent and effort involved. As you said, everybody on that stage was at the top of their game to pull this one off, let alone the mighty off stage crew that brought this masterpiece to life. I’ve just hit subscribe and will go back and watch it all again. Keep up the great content and have a lovely Christmas.

Thank for your great reaction. BABYMETAL's members are famous star (acting in TV. CM. etc) in Japan from when a child. The agency they work for is the largest listed entertainment company in Japan and has many stars. It is very difficult to get into this office, and female applicants need to be exceptionally beautiful, first of all. Many stars have been with the company since childhood and take various lessons from leading instructors, such as dancing, singing, acting, etc., and usually become an actress. And among them, a small number of people with high singing ability (like the lead vocal of BABYMETAL : Suzuka Nakamoto) becomes a musician. This is because it is extremely rare for a person to have both a beautiful appearance like an actress and a high singing ability. We can see many videos of her singing song since when elementary school on KZfaq. BABYMETAL was created to make use of her talent in 2010(When she was 13years old). When Babymetal song is voted in popularity by Japanese, 'Akatsuki' usually comes in first place.😀

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。BABYMETAL call your country, UK, "second county". During their ongoing EU / UK tour, they performed 3 times in UK, 2 times in London and 1 in Wolverhampton. When I saw this video, one-time performance ever, for the first time, I thought people who had planned it and then realized it were totally insane (including choreographer Mikiko), but in good way, of course . The performance was so intricate but seemed perfect and stunning. In an interview, however, Su-Metal said that she has not been satisfied at all with her performance at Tokyo Dome and would like to retry it someday. [source : Magazine "Bessatsu KADOKAWA" Oct.13, 2020 issue, Page 87] Many people have looked forward to the "someday" but it did not come yet. I still have a hope.

I have seen baby metal live back when they were still fronting for lady gaga and not long before the this concert, everything they do seems to be grand and some songs like this one are epic, especially considering their age, Su Metal is 19, Moa and Yui are 17, takes a lot of talent to be that epic in a venue that large and be so young doing it. And who else can do Metal, toss in some ragtime and end with that piano. If you want hard rock, Band Maid would be the group from Japan to listen too, besides the singing, they are the musicians as well and are up with the best of the best playing and they write their own music and all are bangers. And revisit mamamoo, maybe their killing voice live medley and immortal songs medley or some live shows from last year. The other two are older. They are known in Korea for being basically the best vocal Idol group, even by other idol groups. they have 100s of songs and videos all great and are known for extremely good live performances. If you want a fusion of Hindu and Metal from India, try Bloodywood. But you found the best Metal, Baby Metal is just so good at performing, they are next level.

Fantastic stuff - BABYMETAL were amazing from day one and simply keep getting better. Yeah they’re trained but they have an incredible natural talent & a charisma that can’t be taught. If you want to see how they played with expectations from the very beginning have a look for the MV for their song “Iine”(pronounced “e-nay”…not “Line”). You won’t believe how incredibly young they were when they started out either.

I don't know whether you are familiar with Dream Theater, this is taken 100% out of their book, but made even more insane by adding a dance choreography. I think the girls have a voice counting beats on the ear monitors to help them with the weird time signatures. Babymetal surpassed themselves with this performance. Very likely their best composition to date. The interaction between those teenage girls and their seasoned band (at the time) is of a level that goes beyond imagination. This wonderful song flows into their finale of "The One". One of the best Prog Metal songs ever. Also, Su, Moa and Yui all rehearsed and perfected the complex choreography for this performance - and then it was never performed again! PS Su has a vocal range of C4 to G#5 (G#6 once, in a duet with Rob Halford!), though even that info is a few years old and her voice has matured. Try 'MONOCHROME, piano version,' for a beautiful solo performance and vocal masterpiece from her just this year ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/npOYg6qDuNDLnac.htmlsi=7QhGvDuR7AlBvisc ) 🦊🤘🤘🦊

This song was written as a tribute to Dream Theater, and specifically their song _The Dance of Eternity._ A song that famously has 108 time signature changes. Babymetal originally meant to top that by 1, and aimed for 109. But as the song grew in length and complexity, they eventually decided to split into two. _Tales of the Destinies_ is the first half, and that piano section at the end is the transition into the second half; a song called _The One._ But although I love Tales of the Destinies, I must confess that I am not the biggest fan of The One. I would suggest you instead try _Rondo of Nightmare_ next. It is still on the progressive side, has a nice intro where the musicians are given a solo each, and also an interesting vocal performance from Su: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtN9osaBnp-1m4U.htmlsi=4w8zatEeoaQ3po-b

The first minute sounded more like Hawkwind than Babymetal. I'm not a big BM fan but as a muso, I'm more than happy to agree that the instrumentalist talent on that stage is very much next level. Can I make a suggestion that will broaden your Metal knowledge and introduce you to Progressive Metal.... Opeth - Ghost of Perdition, live at Red Rock. It will contain amazing musicianship, intriguing composition, interesting time signatures and sub divisions and a mix of clean and harsher vocals... oh yeah, and you'll love the drumming. Great reaction and insight as always Nina, keep up the great work 🙃

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🌟 🌟 🌟 Pulling this song off live at Tokyo Dome with only two guitarists still blows my mind. A few changes, but it still sounds a lot like the studio track. I grew up with early Pink Floyd, King Crimson, ELP and experimental electronic music. So I was very ready for this one when the 'Metal Resistance album dropped in 2016. Definitely a Dream Theater feel in this one. 'Images and Words' is one of BABYMETAL producer Koba's favorite albums. Here's what he said about the development of 'Tales of the Destinies': "Upon opening the World map of Metal music, this song as well really made me stop and consider how are we going to deal with the genre of Progressive Metal represented by such bands that I love such much like Dream Theater. It took about 2 or 3 years to put it into the form that it is in now. As you can imagine, there were a multitude of hardships to overcome to do so. That goes for the performance side of it as well and we had to put it through countless, repeated changes to its arrangement to finally get it where it is now.". Both the girls and the Kami Band did an amazing job especially considering the complexity this song has. The Tokyo Dome Red Night concert on September 19th, 2016 is the only time that 'Tales of the Destinies' has been performed live. And of course, I love the little ragtime jig that Yui and Moa do in the middle of the song.

Hi Nina! Just found your channel, watched a few videos and subscribed. I get the impression that you're particularly fond of bass guitar and drums, right? If so, then you should check out another all-female Japanese rock group called BAND-MAID. The style is heavy rock with metal and punk influences, and they are truly excellent musicians. Try the live version of 'Freedom' (official video from 3 years ago) as a starting point. As a rule of thumb, live versions of Band Maid songs are the best because they put extra bits in, plus it's fun to see their interactions on stage.

Nice reaction. The song so hard they only did it once. Su said she wanted to try to do it again. She wasn't happy with this performance. Her in ear went out at the start of the song. She's so good no one noticed but her. It only lasted moments. but that could throw a person off. Complicated song like this it doesn't take much to mess it all up. Many fans thought and hoped they would do it again for the 10 years of Babymetal concerts at the Budokan in Japan. 10 shows not in a row. Right around the start of covid. Many health precautions were in effect. But Moa said she couldn't remember which choreography they did. And they had tried over 30 different routines. They could have just come up with a new one. But When Su says she wants to try it again. She means just the way they did it before without any mistakes. And when the Queen speaks. That's the way it goes. These ladies are perfectionist. Especially Su and that has rubbed off on Moa. Only time will tell where Momoko is. Yui the third original member left in 2018 officially for health reasons. Su and Moa have said she is doing ok, and they keep in touch with her. When you keep watching them you will get to see just how close Yui and Moa are. Yui leaving was very hard on them. But we're glad they stayed together. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.
