Moonbyul is releasing a song on Monday called "Trying to say goodbye" which is a remake of another song (she's already done a cover of it about 2 years ago, but will officially release it on all digital platforms + a live performance of it as the remake is part of a big project) It's a very emotional, ballad type song which really shows off her voice really well, I would really love it if you would react to it and explain more about her voice

Solar really was living her best life every time a rap verse came up and we love that for her. Also can I just say, it really impresses me that the girls still find so much joy in performing HIP? They've probably done it so many times by now due to how successful it is but every time they start performing it, I just fall in love all over again. The dorky dancing and singing along to the instrumental makes me so happy every time.

Solar and Moonbyul didn't really have an official subunit project but they did collab a lot, the latest project they did together that is not a cover is the song called "Bada Boom" for a dance competition. It was so good, and the group that dance to it actually won the competition. I hope you check it out~

Kindly refer to replies for accurate accounts 🤣 OP: I'm sure someone already mentioned this but Moonbyul actually started off as a vocalist but then she was told that her voice wasn't suitable to be a vocalist and that she should consider learning to rap. So then she started working on her rap from zero and it didn't exactly come naturally to her but eventually she practiced a lot and here we are today, plus she also found that she was a talented writer as well. Not all girl group rappers write their own rap parts. ---------- But tbh why even need a full time rapper, although so glad she turned out to be a really good one and her parts add so much to MMM's music. Definitely one of my favorite gg rappers, just love her flow as mentioned in the video.

Solar and Moonbyul together are absolutely perfect. They do have a duet together Calle promise you and Bada Boom. Trust me you will absolutely love both these songs.

Thanks for your reaction and hope you were energized our YKBK Moonsun duo. Their offstage/onstage dynamics and energy are always off the charts. Moomoos are so blessed as this performance gave fan a taste of the "what if" alternate universe. What if Moon Byul was main vocal and what if Solar was main rapper, what would their songs sound like? Not sure if you've check out any of their other subunit songs, Promise U and Bada Boom. If not, definitely worth checking out. Especially Bada Boom as it's a departure from their usual style and you get to hear more aggressive Solar vocals that we don't usually get but sounds so good. Moon Byul's also has a cover song coming out March 28th, for the song "Trying to Say Goodbye". We first saw her do the cover 2 years ago which was already very good. But from what we saw of the video teaser, her vocal confidence has really gone up and she sounds even better now. She uses a soft and airy tone and hitting high notes that we always knew she could hit. And definitely agree, we need some Wheein Hwasa collabs!

I wasn't expecting this video but oh my, was it awesome! I'm always happy when Moonbyul sings and knowing how good she is from an expert makes me want to see even more of her singing. Also, ditto on the MoonSun and WheeSa subunits, they need to happen!

Nice breakdown and thanks for sharing your response. I really enjoyed this video and I literally screamed throughout my viewing process. Nothing is more excited to see artists walking out from their comefort zone and exploring new possiblities. I am glad that they are not bounded by their past successes as vocalist and rapper but keep following their desires to do what they really want to do as we know Moonbyul likes to sing and was trained as vocalist while Solar is a hip-hop lover and always wants to try rapping. I love this new era of Mamamoo and am excited about any kind of subunit combinations. However, I like how you have pointed out that Solar and Moonbyul are straightforward and their energy are explosive that I wish they can release some powerful and heavy rythemic songs, espeically seeing Solar is graduately building up her style of power rapping and singing aggressively in Bada Boom in a sense of excitement, hopefully together with Moonbyul's melodic singing that lies in between rapping and singing such as in WAWN, which I know it was a pity for being short but her part was excellent, one of my favorite parts of the song. Finally, hope you feel better soon. When I feel down I also watch Solarsido and listen to Solar Emotion. Her positive energy is really admirable which has helped me passed through many difficult times. Of course, I have to cry first before being healed because her pure tone in those ballads is so sincere and makes take of my armor and expose my vulnerable self. You like Moonbyul and singing? Watch Second World, a singing competition for girl group rappers. She's slaying it. The other girls are great, too. Not in the: "Good for a rapper" way, but really good. There are some groups out there were this ladys could at least be main vocalist. And Yubins voice? She can read me the telephone book and I would be a happy camper.

If you watch closely, you will understand why MAMAMOO did not use headset mikes. Solar always sings all of the parts but her mic is always down. It has been a standing joke for years with them. Solar just sings everything

Lol funny that you mentioned that Solar's enjoying rap too much. She's always been a rap and hip hop fan. Solar and Wheein always have fun freestyling but they never did it officially except some instances. One is where Solar and Hwasa were special DJs in a program and they performed Memory where Hwasa suggested that solar rap Moonbyul's part instead of her. It was cute because solar was really nervous while Hwasa looked at her adoringly. Moonbyul sent them a message telling solar she did well. Moonbyul did audition as a vocalist but was assigned to be the rapper instead and she lost her confidence in singing. When Solar wrote Star Wind Flower Sun, she insisted Moonbyul have a singing part apart from the rap that she let Moonbyul write. The girls have always been supportive of each other which is why they work great together. Solar and Moonbyul have 3 songs together and 2 of them are remakes. Like Yesterday in Sugarman, Promise U for Vibe's 20th anniversary and Bada Boom for Street Dance Girls Fighter.

Moonbyul's voice is very unique. I haven't heard anyone that sounds like her, in kpop at least. I would really appreciate it if you can react to WJSN, especially live ones. They're good, ethereal voices, very dreamy type of sound. All Mamamoo ladies are good rappers. This duo is now formally Mamamoo+ which i know you'll enjoy. Hwasa featured in a duet in Wheein's newest album. Someone electronically lowered the register of one of Wheein's songs and she sounded so much like Moonbyul. I've heard a couple of Solar-Wheein, Wheein-Hwasa duets but not of Moonbyul-Wheein, Moonbyul-Hwasa or Solar-Hwasa duets. Love them all. Solar-Moonbyul enunciate the best, the energy is always electric. Wheein-Hwasa tugs more at your emotion - maybe because of the rasp/huskiness of their voices which also affects their enunciation sometimes. Enjoyed your analysis and reaction.

I think moonbyul has this melodic rap given the fact that mamamoo has this great range of genre/music, powerful or the 'usual' raps we hear are not the best choice for their songs atleast for me. She has the opportunity and she did use it to become the one of the best rappers. I really like her to have more lines within the group also..
