No, they are not lip-syncing. :) These are live recordings. I believe the channel does some mixing as the show is not a live aired show but a pre-recorded one, but the singers do sing live during the taping (this was during covid, so no audience, just the other competitors, but normally you can attend these live concerts as an audience and vote for the contestants). It's a contest where established singers take their own turn on classical evergreen hits (the show is called Immortal Songs). Forestella have won numerous times, and they hold the record of most wins in a row too. :) these dudes never lip sync. They don't need to. :)

This TV program, called "Immortal Songs 2" is a kinda competition among all the best singers in S.Korea in every Saturday 6PM in Korean time. And, there're 500 spectators watching this show, so no one can do the "lip-sync" in this show. These guys are well-known by their flawless live singing. They're so incredible because every single song they've covered so far is an epic, and they sing live so perfectly. If you feel like they do the "lip-sync", it means that they nailed this song. Please listen to the other songs, then you'll know they never do the "lip-sync" kinda thing. 😀

One of the best experiences I’ve had in the past few years is seeing Forestella live. With a front row seat. They are absolutely stunning and always sing live. Their vocals are unmatched and they are truly a once-in-a-lifetime combination of vocalists who were destined to sing with one another. Their voices and tones perfectly compliment and boost one another. I’ve never encountered another group in any genre that is so perfectly tailored to emphasize one another’s individual strengths. Their ability to communicate with one another as they perform is unparalleled. They are on their way to being legends.

Nice that you have discovered FORESTELLA. This (classic) crossover vocal group is definitely one of the best the music industry has to offer. Each voice is unique on its own, but when they create these incredible harmonies together, it's mind-blowing. Musically and technically highly qualified, they are able (ALWAYS LIVE!) to produce the most unbelievable sounds. 4 singers can sound like 40. They mostly cover best songs of all genres in various styles and languages. Always respecting the original, they add their own flavors to them, always with TOP result and a WOW effect. My two favorite songs they've done is Hijo De La Luna and Time in A Bottle, highly recommend them! I got to see them live in february and videos don't even come close to their vocals. It literally transport you to a whole different dimension.

They only sing live. That program gathers the audience, and after two teams compete, the winner scores again with the next team. However, since that broadcast is not a real-time live broadcast but a recorded broadcast, there is a possibility that the sync was slightly out of sync during the editing process. And a little bit of sound correction would have been added. But I personally think it's much better to hear them in concert than the edited sound.

OMG! They feel insulted if you are saying Lip-sync. They are winner of crossover band contest of Phantom Singer in Korea and champion never losing in another contest show of Immortal Songs2. In every show, they only sing live even dancing. Didn't you see the reactions of people in the video clip what you have seen? Your abrupt comments of lip-sync made me shocked and I cannot understand you.

They don’t lip sync. There are a number of fan cam vids from concerts (HEDDA channel for example) which will show you a live live view without any post production although there is little of that anyway. You can pick anything of theirs as it’s all great. Their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is, imo, the best cover ever. There is a great cover of the theme from The Godfather (Parla Piu Piano) but they also cover Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran as well as original content. They line up from left to right Ko WooRim (classically trained bass), Kang HyungHo (chemical engineer, amateur rock band singer, countertenor, also refers to himself as a teprano), Cho MinGyu (classically trained tenor) and Bae Doo-hoon (musical theatre actor). Looking forward to more Forestella reactions.

I have seen them sing live in Los Angeles. They are the real deal. No lip sync whatsoever! They are excellent. This is a performance at a competition . They have done at least 15 such competitions on immortal songs and won most of them.

They are so good that you wonder if its lip sync. Since you are just getting to know Forestella, its understandable that you had this doubt. Forestella works very hard to perfect their harmony and timing. Their casual performances and impromptu singing on tv are also very good. The four of them are just made for each other. Their solo performances are also exceptional.

There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him any more. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in same areas in fact while on my researching for English references.. so it could be just for remembering recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

You should check out more Forestella! There are many more performances that just left me speechless. (Like their cover of Warriors)

Scarborough Fair is one of FORESTELLA's more classically oriented arrangements. This also includes the outstanding version of "Hijo de la Luna", which I definitely recommend. FORESTELLA's style of crossover (rock/pop/opera) is VERY VERSATILE, and hugely creative, what makes them unique. No song is in any way similar to a previous one. 2 masters of classical vocal music, (tenor-leggero/basso profundo) 1 musical actor singer (baritone) and 1 rock singer (tenor) with an excellently trained angelic head voice, ALL with a very large range. These extraordinary (beautiful) voice combinations and skills make every song an absolute listening pleasure. Their version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is widely considered best cover. Or react their version of "Bad Romance," which turned completly on its head and garnered worldwide attention. Let yourself be surprised.

Two of them are classically trained opera singers, the first singer, Cho Mingyu, is a lyric tenor, while the bass (he is actually not a baritone, but a very deep bass), Ko Woorim. The singer from the right is Bae Doohoon, baritenor, and a musical actor. The countertenor, Kang Hyungo is actually not a trained singer, he used to be a chemical engineer. He got a little bit of training from the tenor of the group. Forestella came together during a talent contest which they won. They are known for their exceptional harmonies and their unusual choice of songs (unusual for a classical crossover band). They covered Queen, Lady Gaga, kpop bands etc. among "classical" renditions. But together they are absolutely brilliant. I saw them live in January and they were mesmerizing. When Kang Hyung Ho (he is the countertenor/rock) sang Phantom of the Opera (both parts), the audience was motionless watching him. They have great stage presence - don’t miss Bad Romance, Inner Universe (my favorite), Hijo de la Luna, and more. This quartet is very special and never cease to amaze.
