More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. This concert "From Lara with love" back in 2000 was peak performance IMO. When you check out "Je Suis Malade" from the same concert pay attention to her after shes done singing.

Great reaction Nina! As a metal fan I still love Lara, so glad you called her a performer rather than just a singer. As many others have, I recommend “Je Suis Malade” from the same performance (watch it all the way to the end) and also Caruso; both so emotive. Edit: also watch out for her use of breathe as a tool in “Je Suis Malalde” since you mentioned it here.

I discovered Lara Fabian much as did many, many people while surfing KZfaq and became an ardent fan. You mentioned several times how she is more than a "singer" and is a "performer"............I agree wholeheartedly but describe her a little differently -- I think she is an "artist", rare in music and she may even be " the Ultimate Artist " Lara paints a picture, she sculpts an emotion, and she composes a story with her powerful yet warm tones, her perfect pitch, her breath control, her physicality, her dictio9n, and more I can't describe with words...............she is a story teller with a difference - she not only tells the story as written by a composer .........she enters that story but invites her audience to travel the journey WITH her. She is unique and has become my story teller of choice.

I would suggest that you make your choice from the same show " From Lara with love." It's live so no tricks like in studio versions. We get then her true talent. You would surely like " Je t'aime " from her live show in Paris in 2001 if I remember well... that was very very emotional....

The official video of Par Amour is a touching performance and beautiful imagery. Her collaboration with Igor Krutoy on the Mademoiselle Zhivago mini film produced a truly moving video, Llora sung in Spanish to bring attention to battered women and is a must see! Finally as she is very much loved in Russia, her version of Lyubov Pokhozhaya Na Son with Krutoy on the piano live at the Kremlin palace is amazing.
