One of my favorite singers. Her songs from Begin Again Korea this year are special. Actually the whole series is amazing.

If you want to see the full showcase of her mastery, pick the performances from the competition style shows she participated. There will be more for you to analyze from projection and ringing resonance, balanced MV, dynamics, seemingly ever present support, stamina and breath management, melisma, silky smooth register transitions, even dictions and vowel mod for english songs, etc, etc. Just a treat dissecting all that she does technically while infusing proper emotion at the same time. She's the real deal.

Sohyang sang this song for American Korean in Newyork during pandemic. Maybe April. This performance is very easy and simple one for her. Sohyang is best female vocalist nowadays no doubt. Nice to see you get acquainted with Sohyang, my favorite singer. She released this version of "Amazing Grace" to soothe those burdened by the uncertainty in this period of pandemic. The sentiment of calm and tranquility you sensed is precisely the purpose of the performance. As someone familiar with vocal pedagogy, you can already take note of her control, resonance, stamina and support. It's obvious that Sohyang has a lot in reserve for her listeners. So hyang one of my favorite female vocalists. Her performance of “ everyone” is beyond amazing. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I like Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera). “ So hyang” receives a lot more reactors and reactions than Park Ki Young” because of her ability to sing some American songs in English which she performs with emotional impact. But please don’t judge a vocalist by the number of requests you receive-altho your fans are usually right. But I’m a professional singer and my singing friends unanimously agree that both So Hyang and Park Ki Young are not only world class vocalists but equal in talent. What I’m trying to say is I believe Park Ki Young deserves far more reactions and I promise you and your subscribers who love So Hyang ( and I am among them) that you won’t be disappointed listening to a Park Ki Young song. They are both about the same age ( early 40s but look amazing for their age!) and the closest and best of friends.
