The magic from the Wet Side Story was transferring to the real world, which forced the real people to uncontrollably sing and dance like Mac and Brady in the first movie, also explaining why the characters were disappearing.
@alice-mc8ki
@alice-mc8ki 2 жыл бұрын
that definitely is what they went for but it's still no coherent with the logic of the first movie tho. when Mack and Brady got into Wet Side Story they acknowledged it and had a resistance to the magic, like at the very beginning their hairs were wet and theh still had their modern surfing swingswuits and even a whole musical number about them not understanding why they couldn't stop singing. i wish that when Lela and (sorry i forgot his name) stepped into the real world they were more out of place, maybe not being able to actually start a musical number or some people looking weird at them when they start singing and those things coming with time, as if their magic was actually slowly bleeding into the real world and Mack and Brady were like "omg now people irl can sing and dance with them"

The magic of Tanner and Lela disappeared in the end, Tanner's hair get wet and Lela's clothing-style became modern
@jennaragsdale5593
@jennaragsdale5593 2 жыл бұрын
@@alice-mc8ki The reason they had that resistance was because they were brought there and out of place but still real people. Towards the end of the movie they were becoming a part of wet side story that's why at the end they got splashed but they were still dry and Mac freaked out. But in 2 they're fictional characters going into the real world so they can't just stay that's why they disappear.

Tanner and Lela are clearly elder gods or musical demons locked away in a movie in the 60s to prevent them from infecting the real world. That's where myths about flash mobs dancing until they drop dead come from.

This is my theory: I think that because those 2 went to Brady's and Mack's universe, they brought the musical aspect with them that's affecting people (like breaking into songs) however, because they aren't in the movie, those musical aspects slowly dissapear because they don't exist in Brady's universe

Tanner and Lela still breaking out into song when they first arrive makes sense because it's consistent with what Mack and Brady do in the first movie. When they first arrived in the musical they could still resist the singing numbers and make their own decisions, until they Can't Stop Singing (lol), and their hair still gets wet etc. In the same sense Lela and Tanner still maintain their reality and ability to break out in song when they first cross over, until their hair starts getting wet and they look all modern etc

It's well known throughout the Teen Beach Movie Fandom that the 2nd movie is not as good as the first, but it has some nice songs. I personally loved the first movie because it embarrassed it's campy nature and cringe. It didn't have the classic school setting that almost every Disney Movie uses and it had some nice messages. This one felt like a lot of plot points were forced and was taken way too serious. The ending is also...controversial.

The ending was garbage. They retconned the first movie entirely and Leila’s character arc. It furthered her arc to go back into the movie and not stay in the real world because she was sacrificing her own wants for the needs of her brother and friends who would die if she didn’t. Then they just retcon that by having her change the movie and undo Mack and Brady as a couple and undo the whole first movie

Maya is a very talented singer. She is actually Australian and as one myself it is so difficult to pronounce words in an American accent like I can’t even do it lol, so for her to be able to talk in an American accent and even sing in one is amazing. Edit: with the story line. In the first movie Mack and Brady start changing into characters from the movie ‘wet side story’, this means that their hair is never wet, they break out into musical numbers and they start dressing and acting like characters from the movie. Whereas in this movie the roles are reversed so tanner and Lela are becoming apart of Mack and Brady’s world which means, their hair can get wet, they don’t break out into musical numbers, their clothes become more modern, so this really means that whatever is in the wrong place will start to morph into the movie or real world (in this case) and will disappear. This also explains the reasoning for the characters disappearing. When Mack and Brady ended up in wet side story, their togs and rashies disappear because they didn’t belong in the movie, so that’s why the characters from wet side story end up disappearing becuase they aren’t meant to be there. (I hope this makes sense LOL). Edit again I’m sorry: Once they send Lela and Tanner back Mack and Brady forget who each other are because the movie is how they met so that’s why at the end of the movie they flipped the script and changed the characters around. Like in the first movie tanner sung ‘surf crazy’ they flipped Lela and tanners roles around. And that’s why Lela sings ‘that’s how we do’ in this movie. It’s also interesting too because in the first movie all the surfers jump out of the car but in this movie it’s both the bikers and surfers and Lela obviously gets out if the car last because she’s the main character of the story now not tanner, (cause technically he was the main character in the first movie kinda, hope that makes sense) Just like how Brady promised Mack a mango smoothie if she didn’t like wet side story, they again flipped the roles of the characters. Andddd also with the ‘that’s how we do’ song they had the part where the characters did their own dance move, it’s the same thing is ‘surf crazy’ when the introduce themselves under the limbo bar, but again it’s just flipped/changed. It’s the little things that make the contribution to the movie. IM SO SORRY I KNOW MOST OF YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THIS BUT I WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW ALL OF THIS JUST IN CASE THEY WERE CONFUSED. But I should be done now lol

I mean, I don’t think Brady was wrong when he said he thought Mack wouldn’t respect his surfboard thing. Summer Mack & school Mack seemed to be very different lol. I think he felt like she would tell him his hobby wasn’t serious and he needed to find something “better” to do (aka more traditional…kind of like the parents who tell their kids to give up on music/acting to get a “real job”). I think he recognized that Mack was more serious and probably going to take a more traditionally successful path, so he felt inferior and insecure. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But like I said with the last video, I rooted for Mack/Brady in these films simply because they were the main couple. I never felt the chemistry between them lol. His chemistry with his tv show costars was much much better.

I remember when this movie came out, I was absolutely devastated that they forgot each other and had to meet all over again in the end. The fact that the whole time they were trying to get Lela and Tanner back into the movie so that it wouldn't stop Mack and Brady from meeting, but then encouraging Lela to change the movie, caused the original movie to never exist. So, Mack's and Brady's experience with Wet Side Story was completely different growing up. Which caused Brady to not be on the beach that day watching it, so they never met anyway (ignoring the fact that they went to the same school). Also made me a little mad bc that means Lela and Tanner remember Mack and Brady, but Mack and Brady don't remember meeting Lela and Tanner. (regardless of some of these issues, Teen Beach Movie is probably still my fav Disney Channel Original movie bc of how fun it is)

honestly i think the singing in the "real world" made sense in this movie. I mean breaking out into song is all Layla and Tanner know, so obviously it wouldn't stop in real life. plus when the first came to the real world no one was singing with them. The rest is just kinda the music taking over the real people like it did brady and mac in the first movie. then other songs just made sense in the moment, the dance, the meant to be reprise and the movie at the end for example. but that's just how i made sense of it.

I love Ross Lynch. I'm gonna see him in concert in November when he tours in Europe. He's in a duo called The Driver Era with his brother Rocky, but Ross sings most songs solo. His brother is more like a producer/writer/guitarist, even though Ross does these things too. They also tour in the US this summer. Before that he was in a band called R5 with Rocky, his other siblings Rydel & Riker and their friend Ellington Ratliff. He sang most of their songs solo as well while the others played instruments (Rocky guitar, Rydel keyboard, Riker bass, Ellington drums). Rydel and Riker still go on tour with The Driver Era to play their instruments. You should definitely check out R5 and The Driver Era songs. Especially the Counting Stars live cover by R5 feat. The Vamps is pretty cool. Also more Jordan Fisher reactions would be great, he's so underrated and I wish people would give him the hype he deserves.

The reason why you see the other students singing along, is because Leila and Tanner carry the energy and magic from the movie making everyone sing, (a movie like aspect.) After Tanner and Leila sing their smile song, the jock states something around the lines of “why’d I do that,” or “don’t tell anybody about this.” Which proves that they still had the movie magic in them to do such. Also in the beginning, when Tanner and Leila run through water you can see their hair managing not get wet, but towards the end the magic starts running out and they start fitting in and being more “ordinary” making tanner’s hair get wet, and Leila dress like an ordinary teen for the time period. The cause of the disappearance of the people from the other island is because the main characters aren’t there to move the story along, hope this clears it up.

Your prediction😱😱😱 you guessed it almost perfectly! Anyway, On my own and Gotta be me are still my favourite songs, I love his voice so much, and he's a dancer too, I mean cmoon😀 I think the reason of keeping the surfboard making a secret was that Mac is/was really school orientaded(?) and Brady thought Mac wouldn't appreciate it because of that. This version of Meant to be is my favourite I think, they do sound really good, Maia's voice is beautiful.😍 I too would love to see your reaction to some Austin&Ally songs, like: Billion hits (2 versions), Stuck on you, Two in a million, Better than this, Chasin' the beat of my heart, Take it from the top (fun fact: THAT guy from school also dances in this performance)

In the song about smile you can see the other students dancing and then realizing that something is not right and don't understanding why they were dancing. Is too subtle but it means that at first they brought the "musical" with them. Is not like people don't question it. They do, but you have to put attention to the dancers not the main characters. Edit: if I'm not wrong all the songs are with WST characters involve, except the Brady one. But he was producing a song so it had a "normal" context.

Growing up I remember seeing these movies and this was the last one I actually watched before I "got too old for this". I loved these movies and I remember two that I loved with all my heart and saw them every time. Starstruck (2010) and Geek charming (2011)

I loved this reaction!! Ross Lynch it's really amazing and a complete artist. The song "On my own" it's one of my favorite. In fact he wrote this song along with his brother so maybe that could explain the hole scene with the mic and all that. But you should react to Disney's Zombies movies. There are pretty good songs.

omg i just remembered how much i loved some of these songs! specially the last ones. and it unlocked a memory of a phase i was going through at like 13 when everyone was already way pass the disney phase but i wasn't and i suggested in school to dance That's How We Do It (because my inner self always dreamed of being in a musical) on this competition thingy we had and everyone simply looked weird at me and went on with the conversation as if i hadn't said anything 💀🥲 as if people already didn't like me back then

The biggest plot hole to me in this franchise was the fact that the characters were real people right? So where are the real life actors who play them? They're not like, cartoons that are now real, they're played in a movie by actors and actresses. If they came out of the movie, do those other people cease to exist in the world, or are they duplicated now?

It's always a bright moment when I see a new video posted by you, Hannah! I'd love to see reactions to songs from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, they're so funny and bombastic. Donna Lynn Chapman is particularly brilliant both vocally and comedically - some suggestions are "Maybe This Dream", "After Everything I Did For You (That You Didn't Ask For)", and "His Status is Preferred." 😊
