You can’t control your voice to change it without helium or that over stuff that has the opposite reaction of helium and makes the voice deeper or the other genders hormones (if your trying to sound like the other gender). It is true how most gays make there voice sound more girly but he is a vocal coach and sounds more boy like then most gays so I wouldn’t assume until/unless he says he’s gay :)

6:50 my teacher kept telling me I was a mezzo soprano when I was actually counter tenor. she forced me to sing to high and I ripped my vocal chords, making me a full tenor now. If you're teacher tells you to sing higher than what you're voice is COMFORTABEL at, please let them know it actually hurts to avoid making the mistake I did of not telling her.

Mine is the opposite my choir director try to force me to sing low and it was impossible because I sing countertenor. Voice is naturally high pitch but I was the only tenor in my choir which was a pain as well.

Im a second soprano and my teacher told me I was an Alto but I told him it hurt but he never changed it and there where solos I really wanted and he never let me even try because they where to high then we did a burlesque song and I asked to do it and for some reason he said yes so I did it and I got it and he was forced to move me to soprano but because of singing in an Alto rang damaged my vocal chords so I can no longer sing in the once super high range that I used to

I feel like "being an alto" is like "being a cashier"... you're only that thing, when you're in a choir singing that particular role. Aside from that, you just have a vocal range. When joining a group, you are given the role that your range fits best, so you can contribute to the whole with the best of your ability.

There’s just so much talent out there and the one great thing about social media is that regular people are able to share their talent with the world without being discovered by someone else first. Also I definitely relate to your voice being classified in school and it fucking with your head. I was told I was a Mezzo Soprano and I was so afraid of the really high notes without ever really trying them.. it took me getting into my early 20’s to realize my range could get there but my voice was so under developed in that range.. Don’t let a label hold you back from exploring your full range!

I didn’t recognize him at first! I’m just happy to be able to watch a vocal coach who sees potential in people and has positive shit to say. I had several vocal coaches who really took the fun and meaning of singing out and practically ruined it... essentially, they said they teach all genres, but seemed to have a specific one they wanted to mold your voice for and I was over it. But watching his videos has made me want to sing again.
