After reading the translation of this song, it's speaking of a girl who is waiting all night for daytime to come. She makes a wish to the stars for the Sun to come. She goes through storms and floods until, finally, her wish is granted. Daytime arrives. Also a message that could be applied to bad situations or times in our lives. Just keep on holding onto your hopes, wishes and dreams. "Daytime" will come

Probably because this song is the equivalent of a 9 minute long prog rock piece with a two minute harpsichord solo in the middle. Love this song but its not exactly something you can play at a party.

@M Suzuki those are probably people who are newer to vocaloid, honestly. Sand planet is a newer song and was big so it would make sense that most people who thought that were newer and stuff. I dont really think most people who know a lot about vocaloid would think it was a sand planet reference

English lyrics : With a chime in the dead of night The clock murmurs With a tick-tock That signals the start of a dream Gazing down on a disparate town From up above the clouds The lights faintly glimmering Word of a lost child As we search for you, we sing From a distance, we hope our thoughtful voices might reach you someday On a night of shooting stars A north wind blows through the streets No word from the person we wait for Only traces of the coming day Prayers being carried by the stars Silently spreading out everywhere through the sky While we are in our slumber We see a joyful dream A new resolution Clouds spun into streaks Countless twinkling Lights are born in the night Footsteps and shouts ring out And all the people awake Perhaps a great many wishes Will be entrusted this eve Even if we cannot meet, I will understand Though in distant towns, we're struck and made still by the same rain In a night of stars pouring down Voices are swallowed by the sound of rain As we were, unable to sleep We watched the shining sky The rainbow colors of stardust And the bustling earth resounds As if wildly blooming fireworks Confetti dances in the skies The strobe of the streetlights And clouds that spread like ripples Upwelling water, waving hair A flock of birds flies away Like they foretell a miracle Cradling the back of a child who wakes with a start, A mother's fingertips tremble I just stand there, motionless Half-asleep, my memories return Now, when all the hours we walked Have been here reborn Until the gears start moving And sweep me away Deeper, ever deeper, I think of you A night of showering stars A north wind carries motes of light And we, unable to sleep, Wish for the coming day The cries of stardust And the ringing in my ears abruptly cease Amid the soundless scenery I dream an endless dream In a night of stars pouring down If you grab hold of those small hands To the furthest skies These stars carry our wishes And call forth a tranquil dawn Japanese and Romaji lyrics: 真夜中 奏でる Mayonaka kanaderu 時計のつぶやき Tokei no tsubuyaki チクタクと夢の Chikutaku to yume no はじまりを告げる Hajimari o tsugeru 凸凹の街を Dekoboko no machi o 眺む雲の上 Nagamu kumo no ue 微かにひらめく Kasuka ni hirameku 迷子の訪れ Maigo no otozure 僕らは君を探しながら唄うよ Bokura wa kimi o sagashi nagara utau yo 遠く想う声がいつか届けられるように Tooku omou koe ga itsuka todoke rareru you ni 星の流れる夜に Hoshi no nagareru yoru ni 北風が通りを吹き抜け Kitakaze ga toori o fukinuke 待ち人から便りはなく Machibito kara tayori wa naku 明くる日を描くだけ Akuru hi o egaku dake 星は願いを乗せて Hoshi wa negai o nosete あの空を静かに散り行き Ano sora o shizuka ni chiri yuki 僕たちは眠りのなかで Boku tachi wa nemuri no naka de 幸せな夢を見る Shiawase na yume o miru 新たに一筋 Arata ni hitosuji 雲紡ぎ伸びる Kumo tsumugi nobiru キラキラ 無数の Kirakira musuu no 光が生まれて Hikari ga umarete 足音 呼び声 Ashioto yobi-goe 誰もが目覚める Dare mo ga mezameru いくつの願いを Ikutsu no negai o 今宵託すだろう Koyoi takusu darou あなたのことは会えなくても分かるよ Anata no koto wa aenakute mo wakaru yo 遠い街で同じ雨に打たれ佇んでる Tooi machi de onaji ame ni utare tatazunderu 星の降り注ぐ夜 Hoshi no furi sosogu yoru 雨の音 声を飲み込んで Ame no oto koe o nomikonde 僕たちは眠れないまま Boku tachi wa nemurenai mama 輝く空を見てた Kagayaku sora o miteta 星屑の七色と Hoshikuzu no nanairo to ざわめきが大地に響いて Zawameki ga daichi ni hibii te 乱れ咲いた花火のように Midare sai ta hanabi no you ni 空を舞う紙吹雪 Sora o mau kami-fubuki 外灯のストロボと Gaitou no sutorobo to 波紋のように広がる雲 Hamon no you ni hirogaru kumo 浮かぶ水 ゆらめく髪 Ukabu mizu yurameku kami 鳥たちの群れは飛び去り Tori tachi no mure wa tobisari まるで奇跡を予感し Marude kiseki o yokanshi 飛び起きたかのような幼子の背を Tobi oki ta ka no youna osanago no se o 包む母の指先が震えている Tsutsumu haha no yubisaki ga furuete iru 僕はただ立ち尽くし Boku wa tada tachi tsukushi 寝ぼけながら記憶を巡る Neboke nagara kioku o meguru 歩んだ時間のすべてが Ayunda jikan no subete ga ここに蘇った今 Koko ni yomigaetta ima 動き出した歯車に Ugoki dashita haguruma ni この身を奪われるときまで Kono mi o ubawa reru toki made 強く ただ強く あなたを想ってる Tsuyoku tada tsuyoku anata o omotteru 星の降り注ぐ夜 Hoshi no furisosogu yoru 北風が光の粉を運んで Kitakaze ga hi no ko o hakonde 僕たちは眠れないまま Bokutachi wa nemurenai mama 明くる日を願うだけ Akuru hi o negau dake 星屑の泣き声と Hoshikuzu no nakigoe to 耳鳴りが最期に途切れて Miminari ga saigo ni togirete 音のない景色のなかで Oto no nai keshiki no naka de 終わらない夢を見る Owaranai yume o miru 星の降り注ぐ夜 Hoshi no furisosogu yoru 小さな両手を握れば Chiisana ryoute o nigireba 星は遠くの空へ Hoshi wa tooku no sora e 僕らの願いを届けて Bokura no negai o todokete 幸せな朝を呼ぶ Shiawase na asa o yobu. @@mystrallsnowlight Im still here. At the end of almost every year, I listen to this song to feel better after so many ups and downs. This song is beautiful.. No matter how many songs I listen out of Hatsune Miku, I dont think any of them can beat this. The producer made her sound human as possible, and the instrumentals are just pure majestic. Imagine how much time and effort that person has put, the creative songwriting and everything. Debatable or not. Theres people who dont know what shes saying and still feel a slight message and atmosphere to the entire song. It shows how amazing music can be, even if its not a real singer.

There are certain things that you can only appreciate when you understand the words, but there are also things that can't be fully appreciated unless you do not understand their meaning. The beauty of this song is that it is able to achieve both of these goals at the same time, and all of that is wrapped up in alongside it being one of the best records I have ever heard both on a surface level and on a deeper level, and as someone who is in the middle of learning Japanese (and as such only able to understand bits and pieces of this) I am able to appreciate both the beauty of being unable to understand it and the beauty of being able to understand it. This is truly a musical masterpiece.

The Tiny Gamer Actually, not understanding the song is a part of it. This song, and any song for that matter, can tell a story without you comprehending the lyrics. Can you understand the whole song? Because you seem like you're saying not understanding a song and still loving it is a bad thing.

when i listen to this song, i imagine the girl on the screen in a small dark space holding a little ball of light to her chest. then when the beat in the song gets louder, the light gets brighter and a whole world surounds her, bursting into color! Shes in a beautiful green field with the sky blending into many shades of purple, blue and orange as the sun goes down and there are colorful shooting starts flying beautifuly across the sky. she flies up to space and is surounded by a beautiful universe bursting with color and life. she passes through each galaxy, passing each world singing her song and eventually goes back to her little world. the sun is gone and the sky is full of sparkling stars, and she is felt feeling happy and content. She wakes up in her bed to the sound of her clock on the wall. as the ticking stops, she realizes that living life to the fullest and seeing everything is the best thing that could happen to anyone.

I played this on Mega Mix for Switch, it's interesting hearing the little differences in music. Honestly one of the prettiest songs I've heard in a while. I always get a "dying to escape life and being free" feel from it. Kinda happy the lyrics are more hopeful than my own interpretation.

After 2019, my memory started to decline abnormally. It feels a lot like walking through a dark tunnel; if I look behind my shoulder and squint carefully, I can see the faint outlines of graffiti on the walls, and I know that they exist even as I walk far away from them. But I can't see them anymore. Sometimes I get the glimmer of a song I used to like or a story I used to read, a friendly KZfaq comments section or a warm drawing. Finding them is hard. Unfortunately, "vocaloid song with ticking clock" hardly assists me in finding what I'm looking for. I knew it existed, I knew it was a song I listened to a lot when I was tired. I knew that the left-right-left-right electronic buzz made my mind feel alive but I had no idea what it was called. I have the faint memory of how this song used to dominate my playlists during 2018, when the likes of Crier and Nonsense Speaker were the peak of my music taste. But it was nothing other than a shadow and a feeling in the back of my mind that I had no luck in finding for the first many hours of my search. It's funny how in that dark tunnel the glimmers that I find and chase four hours and hours always have to do with clocks, time, stars, the dark. I'm glad the word "append" was the only thing I could remember about this song's title because it was enough.

One day in March of this year, I was browsing the Nintendo eShop on my Switch looking through games that were on sale when I saw Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix. I recognized Hatsune Miku (what person with an interest in learning Japanese and one day visiting Japan doesn't?) and vaguely recognized Project DIVA from a KZfaq video I'd watched a long time ago that talked about different rhythm games (since back then I was interested in what else there was than Guitar Hero). I decided to get the demo to confirm it's what I thought it was and see if I like it, and sure enough, Project DIVA Mega Mix has that arcade-style rhythm game format (which surprised me with how great it feels on the Joy-Cons in portable mode), so I bought the game, and since due to the sale I could buy the game plus all its DLC for pretty much what would normally be the price of just the game, I bought it all. I was very unfamiliar with vocaloid music, starting off with a few of the most recognizable ones like "Romeo and Cinderella", "ROKI", "Po Pi Po", and more. But then as I was scrolling through the song list listening to song previews, I listened to the preview snippet of Meteor, and was immediately captivated. I then decided to play through the song for the first time (on Hard, my preferred difficulty in the beginning), and I was surprised at just how strong my enjoyment of the song was and how fun its rhythm chart is. If I remember correctly, it was one of the first songs I got a Perfect in (besides "Romeo and Cinderella", which was in the demo) just because I enjoyed it so much it was so easy to stay focused on and improve at. At some point, when I'd gotten better at the game, I started practicing the song on Extreme until I got a Perfect in that as well, then went ahead and Perfected Normal and Easy just to complete the set. All of this is to say I really enjoy the song that much. I can't listen to it too many times, which is exactly what you want on a rhythm game, where you practice songs, meaning you have to listen to them many times. Plus, its music video in the game is beautiful, and its charts on every difficulty are as well-written and fun to play as things get on each difficulty. (Meaning on Easy, it's oversimplified to the point of being more difficult to Perfect than on Hard, but that's just how it is with all Easy charts, and Meteor's is one of the best ones.) Anyway. I was introduced to this song by happening to notice a Project DIVA game on sale, wanting a rhythm game on my Switch, and thinking to myself "I know I'm not interested much in anime culture, but this is a hardcore rhythm game" and buying it for purely functional reasons. The game has introduced me to some banger vocaloid music I'd not have ever looked up or listened to otherwise, with a few arguably becoming some of my favorite songs, like Meteor, Systematic Love, and ROKI. And Meteor in particular does what I really love in a song: it journeys from a soothingly calm section to an exhilarating hype section, so I can put the same song in both my "Chill" playlist and my "Hype" playlist. And all of this is before looking up the lyrics and realizing this is also a deep, up-to-interpretation kind of song, which just makes it that much cooler. ... If anyone decided to read all that, I'm sorry for kinda writing a short novel here lol I just have a lot of thoughts about this song and the game that introduced me to it.

I imagine that a girl is on the top edge of a skyscraper, she leans forward and falls. The buildings around her start to change and its now the future, then they shatter into millions of tiny pieces of glass, she keeps falling and then she shoots forward and into space. Shes floating in one place above earth and when she swipes her hand in front of herself then all the evil and everything bad is erased from earth. She starts to fall back to earth as a ball of fire when she suddenly wakes up in a hospital bed with a loud clock in the room thats supposed to count how long she has left to live. When it stops that usually means you're dead but in her case it means shes just started living.

its crazy how much this song means to me... i used to listen it so many times in a row when i was a kid, because i just could not get over how beautiful it was. thinking back, its one of the tracks that made me realize how electronic instruments/synthesizers can be really expressive when used well. not to mention solidifying my love of vocaloid music. now, i'm studying sound design and trying to teach myself music production. its kinda cheesy but i feel like i wouldn't be who i am today without this song. to anyone reading this: you have found a gem! keep it shiny, put it on your back shelf, and take it out every now and then when you need something beautiful to life your spirits. trust me, its really amazing.
