For me, he creates what he wants, what he likes, not what others expect. He performs because he likes it. He's like a free will artist. Even most of his performance was not pitch perfect but nobody cares. People just aren't able to hate him. He never gave a harsh comment on newbies. His songs can be very enjoyable, soothing or nostalgic. The true meaning of evergreen. He's a brilliantly serious actor too. Even wrote and directed a movie back then.

M.Nasir songs (the one that he sings) mostly are not about vocal performance, high notes and stuff. It's about the story in the song. This song in particular, is abt the relationship between human and God. If I were to translate the title: Tanya Sama Itu Hud Hud = Ask The Hoopoe (type of bird). Yazik you should do a read up on Datuk M Nasir before you react to his songs. He is a top 5 Malaysian legend, composer, songwriter and singer in Malaysia although mostly about 5-10 years ago. Look up on the songs he has done in Wikipedia and listen to them. He has a unique singing style of closing his eyes every time he sings. His singing ability is good/great but the songs he write for other singers are really amazing. Look up on them and you will know!

He won almost all categories this year. He also won with a song "Bonda" for another category. Best performance also him. Only ballad category won by Ning Baizura through "Curiga" since M. NASIR not competed i this category.
