Hi guys what are my thoughts, how does my DSX 900 compare to the bullet proof Vstrom. But you can clearly see how bad that front suspension is in this video, the dsx handles and rides over the rough stuff like a dream.

The poor suspension is clearly visible in this video, that's the main reason I sold the Vstrom

@@Richard-pe4cx It's definitely a trade off, I loved the smoothness of the Vstrom, but now realise that there are other things to consider. In an ideal world we would try lots of motorcycles. But we tend to rely on reviews . For all the early roughness of the DSX I now realise how good it is. Not butter smooth, engine or gearbox. But it has my back and is set up just right. Thanks for commenting. Ride safe ✌️

Why didn’t you buy a v Strom 800 or 800de🤔

@@kwik2008 I had thought of the Vstrom 800, but it lacked a lot of the extras I wanted for adventure touring, ride modes, cruise control, heated seats and grips, radar, camera. The Voge is exceptionally well loaded and the BMW engine tried and tested. But yes the 800 especially the DE is a great bike. ✌🏻Plus the DE is £3000 more without hard luggage which would be another €1500. At under under €10000 with luggage the Voge 900 DSX is a bargain

If you ride on this kind of roads maybe KTM would be right choice for you. Haven’t ride Vouge (or whatever the name is) but for now i would not experiment with other Chinese motorcycle brand other than CF Moto, in Europe at least. Chinese will run down all European and Japanese bike manufacturers in 5-10 years, but for now I rather stay with Japanese bikes. Im super happy with my V Strom 650 but we have much better roads here for sure. Smooth engine gearbox sound is perfect and it is very honest bike. Performance is more than enough and above all reliability is second to none. Considering the price of VS you will never find better price performance than VS in my opinion. Cheers 🍻

@@surdzo I agree with all you say, I may have gone down the Vstrom 800 DE route but at €3000 more than the BMW engined VOGE 900DSX without any of the extras it wasn’t an option. If you ever get to try the VOGE 900DSX you will understand. Plus we do a lot of two up touring now. The Vstrom was up to the job but fully loaded you could feel it was only 70HP, it also carried its luggage and weight higher than the VOGE, so quite a few factors. That said the Vstrom was one of the best bikes I have ever owned

@@motechRevolution I agree Japanese and European bikes are in fact very expensive even if it doesn’t look like that at first. For example i put 4000eur additional equipment on my 10.000 eur VS XT just to make it tour ready (ok everything I put is best in class and I could pass with twice as less but anyway) so for sure you will get equivalent performance and equipped Chinese bike for 30% less, but really, personally I don’t want to deal with service network 500km away from my home or wait spare parts delivery for weeks even months for any kind of money. The beauty of holding Japanese bike is that you always on the road and not at the service shop and the pease of mind you can take for granted when preparing for ride far away from home.

@@surdzo Yes 500km to get a service is not good. That was a consideration last year when I looked at The CF Moto 800 Explore, they are mainly sold online here. Voge on the other hand and fortunately for me have had a foothold in Spain for 5 years and have a very large dealer network with dedicated showrooms. Only time will tell with the longevity of the DSX 900 but with 5 years full warranty and all the components being top tier. KYB. Pirelli, Brembo, BMW motor, Bosch electrics etc I'm not too worried. There are bound to be some problems it's a new model. But hopefully nothing major, ride safe and thanks for the interaction ✌️

That's totally subjective, and a personal choice, for me and the area I ride the DSX is way ahead. If you are a city rider or have really smooth roads then the Vstrom could be for you. No video reviewer will start by saying what is their preferred choice. If you like quick answers don't rush to buy a bike, try a few. Thanks for your comments, ride safe ✌️

I'll walk before I ride a ccp pile of crap. The VStrom will be running like a champ in 10 years and that thing will be in a pile of rusted parts behind some guy's shop.

You completely forgot that this is actually combination of BMW F850GS and F900GS. They bought rights and plans for it and they make bikes and engines for them for nearly 20 years ;-) So it's not some stolen crap really ;-)
@motechRevolution
@motechRevolution 17 күн бұрын
@@puffybodie5282 You are completely right even the wheels are identical to the BMW. Loncin have been designing and building BMW engines from a BMW brief for nearly 20 years, ever since the Austrian company Rotax stopped supplying engines to BMW. The BMW loncin made engine is as bulletproof as the Vstrom, its tried and tested. I agree that a lot of Chinese motorcycles of the past mainly low capacity have been poor quality, but those days are gone. China is more Capitalist than people think, there are a lot of very rich people with high pay driving super expensive cars there. We have 2 science teacher friends who work there. The last time we spoke, they both said most of China is at least 5 years ahead of the rest of the world with regards to technology and lifestyle. Politics aside. €9000 or €18000 for basically the same bike with a different badge, I know what I’m choosing. It’s a no brainier. Even if the Voge is worth only €4000 in 5 years ( the warranty period) the BMW will have lost more than €5000 in the same period 🤔

@@motechRevolution The same old arguement pertaining to the Japanese. Japan was a defeated nation after the war and adopted somewhat the government of relatively free nations. They were not allowed to maintain a large aggressive military after the war, but now may be allowed to have nuclear weapons. I wonder why? To deter the chinese from invading in the future. 25 years ago, china had no blue water navy. Now it has more ships than the us, albeit inferior.Why do you think they've played the west's game in the past? To gain enough knowledge to reign supreme. Knowledge truly is power. This will be the last of my comments, since I'd rather be riding one of my 5 somewhat new motorcycles in the garage. And, good man, my next will never be chinese. The only reason I'm associating with you on my chinese computer is because I DON'T have a choice.
