I'm here as a young writer, my parents are the only ones reading my work so far, and they have mentioned to me they could read my works faster if it was an audiobook since they have a lot of work- and my idea was to actually do that myself. I don't plan giving characters their own specific voice modulation, i just want to make sure I can act and actually be able to read some phrases since I have mild dyslexia and often use fonts that make it hard to distinguish between a lower case 'l' and upper case 'I' thanks for the help !

I’m just here as someone who’s wanting to learn about voice acting to do it as a hobby, as I’ve always been very fascinated by and in tune with music, sound, and voices. Interestingly, I’ve thought of doing this, but you’ve perfected the idea here, of course. Thank you! Also: I’m still making my way through your videos, so apologies if I’ve missed something obvious... And this may be silly, but I was wondering if you have a video on how to get past an intense dislike of one’s own natural speaking voice? I suppose I just need to suck it up and work my way past it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you had tips on that as well!

this is more for practicing audio narration or just a general practice that is good for (games, animations) because you're just reading but for the other practices you'd be acting?

@@ImproveYourVoice I agree that your lesson covers the necessary. The sight reading is the skill to deliver a well paced delivery inclusive of cadence control with appropriate intonation. The former comment above that challenged the "acting" element of your lesson is short sighted as anyone who has ever tried acting of any kind would know that the first obstacle to an efficient performance is familiarity with script reading. To your critique I say this: the acting comes after the formal homework study. Acting is the individuals injection of self into the performance. The ability to read anyone's work out loud with proper pacing and seeming authority is the biggest work one could work on. The "acting" is when you inject yourself into the performance. Acting doesn't mean lying. This guy here proves that knowing the work you are contributing to is to be authentic with the material. Acting isn't someone pretending to like something they don't like. Acting is performing another writers knowledge and work but with your own personal input in the mix

I listened back to every single student radio show I did. Then every community radio show I did. I didn’t list, but I knew what was good and what wasn’t and went back in correcting it. Just like this. It’s been years now since I did any radio, but I think you should never stop listening to yourself.

After taking years of school in a broken education system and learning nothing, This and some other things are my last bet unfortunately. (Not saying this is a bad career!! Just the fact that this is what it comes down too when schooling doesn't evolve with generations now.) I do love voice acting though, so hopefully I can practice!
