Ciao Claudio, avrei una domanda spero che tu possa aiutarmi. Come tanti ragazzi produco musica nella mia camera da letto e avrei bisogno di più prese elettriche. Siccome ho solamente una sola presa a disposizione dove collegare tutto mi chiedevo se potevo utilizzare delle canaline come le tue e collegarle le prese elettriche una dopo l'altra come dei pedali, ovviamente non me ne servono tante quante te ahahaha. Un impianto di casa normale riuscirebbe a sostenere qualche presa in più? Grazie mille del tuo tempo :)

@@matteonolli al momento ho un multipresa dove collego i miei due monitor (ripeto è camera mia). Siccome vorrei togliere i monitor dal multipresa volevo dedicare una linea elettrica solo per i due monitor, magari usando un filtro di linea a muro, e tenermi un’altra linea per le cose come computer e schermo. Sarebbe fattibile?

Claudio, happy new year, stay funky and healthy! Just in case you want to improove your video(focus) quality: get either rid of the polarizer, that makes everything super dark and so you cam open the aperture. If you want to keep the polarizer (refexion wise), have a fixed way more closed aperture. That gives you a higher depth of field and less chance of missfocussing - but yes, you need higher ISO settings for that.

Loving your new studio! Truly amazing! I have 20+similar generic Chinese smartplugs. (Gosund UP111 - and adding more weekly) (They all use the same smart life app) Couple of things to note - 1) they only auto add if the plug is fast flashing -slow flashing is the backup manual add method. 2) your phone MUST be on the same 2.4Ghz WiFi network (e.g. Studio-B) as the one you put in the app. 3) Often you have to ‘separate’ the 2.5Ghz from the 5 GHz networks on each access point by giving them individual SSIDs (so you’d end up with Studio-B-24, and Studio-B-5 WiFi networks) 4) when adding multiple plugs I’ve had most success by switching each one on in turn, ensuring it is fast flashing, then wait until it is spotted by my ipad before turning on the next. Then I complete the registration process of them all. It seems to be much more reliable that way. 5) My iPad Air2019 is way more reliable at auto detecting than my various android phones. Maybe try a couple of alternative devices to see if any are better. Finally (!) did you get the ones with the built in power/energy meter ? They give you an instant/daily/monthly power usage stats and graphs on the app. Only then do you find the truly power hungry items which cost a fortune to keep on all day when not in use. I use the Gosund UP111 Keep up the awesomeness for 2021 !!

Why not just plug everything into one power unit? Also, the non-tube gear can just stay on all the time with no degradation to the circuits.

x3 power conditioners way to go, Much safer, Remember them nasty EMF's with ALL Wifi devices, get yourself an EMF meter you might be shocked !!! microwaving your skull 12hrs a day 365 days a year not a wise move. But if you want to impress your friends with the Yul Brynner Hand Clappy Trick, thats up to you :D

so... a couple of questions: Can you get the switches to sequence so that the monitor power amp goes on last and turns off first? What advantage does this have over just flipping the breaker while the room is not in use. Are you trying to save on electrical bills, cause most people leave everything on all the time; Light bulbs only break when you turn them on or off.

I have the same plugs and it seems hit and miss whether Smart Life picks up new plugs etc. That said, once they are paired/ recognised (and this sometimes requires a number of attempts following the same process as per the APP. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't) it is easy to use Alexa etc to switch on/off.

Suggestion from a professional Wi-Fi admin: Your router\Wireless AP cannot reliably handle all the devices. Get a couple of Unifi NanoHD APs, for example. If you send me an drawing of the studio, I can run some simulations and tell you where to mount APs, shoot me a DM!

For sure your setup is significantly beyond the resources of a standard home, or home professional, wifi router. You should get a pro expert in that can survey the studios and provide property setup pro routers like Ruckus, for example. Beware of snake oil salespersons...every industry is full of those.

True, most routers are for home use, and have a max number of clients it can handle. I would recommend you look at Juniper Mist. That will give full control!

What’s up doc ... can you tell me the best way to connect the antelope orion to the satori .... I have a satori a pure 2 and an orion 32+ gen 3 and I want to do analog summing but can figure out the best signal path since the satori has a in and a thru and a xlr and trs I’m just a little confused and I see you have a similar combination ... are you summing

Had huge problem myself when I set my studio to run fully on Alexa I finally bit the Bullet and went all out on the Phillip hue lighting initially. I have since went and Bought the Meross extension Smart 4 socket lead and some separate plugs as you have and boom now all I have to say is “Alexa switch the studio on” all my lighting and all my keyboards MacBook Keyboards and monitors all come on, though if the WiFi plays up it’s annoying but when it works I love it. Kindly do check my 12 part studio build out hope you enjoy. You have been very inspiring. Thanks

you mention losing your work on the computer to Alexa..... do you use a UPS between the wall and computer? (and on your data networks/cameras?) just incase you lost power you wouldnt lose your work.

I have not used any kind of smart plugs, but if it connects to WiFi maybe you are running out of addresses if they use the IPv4, if they have IPv6 you should be golden. It may also be DHCP that is configured in a strange way on your network?! Worth a look. Also, the new studio looks great! ^_^

I want to do this! Is there any risk of hurting the gear? Would this be the equivalent of leaving the gear on and then unplugging it from the wall?

I'd assume that the power switches of rack gear just interrupt the wires anyway. 2 pos switches on devices that have to boot are less common

Okay so I did a little of research. Don’t do this with gear that is data driven such as digital synths or Samplers. Analog is okay but there is still a small risk.

I can understand the frustration, been there on many things where the "techs" are not much more than sales personnel or call centre staff. I am Alexa free thankfully, I like to do things myself while i am still able; however, when I'm too feeble I will think about such a device.
