north korea isn't communist. no country has ever been communist. leaders in north korea have a different ideology.

​​@@theblondyy he's correct. they'll make colloquial references to "socialism" in English-language media but no longer follow/have removed from their constitution any references to communism/Marxism-Leninism/etc. there are now two key ideological principles in North Korea: "juche" (basically the idea of being totally self-sufficient at a national level in all things - they don't pretend they're there yet but they definitely pretend to be a hell of a lot closer than they actually are) and "songun" (basically the privileging of the armed forces above all others politically/economically/socially/etc).
