In 1999, a cable car accident took the lives of 14 tourists in China. One couple lifted their son (2 and a half-year-old) out of the falling cable car to safety. They did not survive the accident. Han Hong, who is a famous Chinese singer and songwriter, wrote “Daybreak” to commemorate the couple’s sacrifice for their child. In order to finish the song, Han Hong went to experience the feeling of riding a cable car. Through going up and down in the normal operation of the cable car, Han Hong felt fear and helplessness what is more to say in the terrifying moment of the accident. In the time of life and death, parents think of not themselves but their child, they tried everything to give him the chance of escaping from crushing to death. This is the love of parents. The little boy’s survival is a miracle held up by his parents’ hands. Han Hong later adopted the orphan. She said she feels empathy with the boy more than others since she herself lost her father at the age of six.

I love this song and this performance especially. Looked like he nearly caught you a couple of times! If he makes me cry I have this odd feeling of catharsis by the end of the song. No matter how gut wrenching the song is, by the time he's finished singing it's like this big sigh of relief from pain. I think whatever chemical process that it triggers in my brain is partly why his singing helps me deal with the physical pain from my surgeries too. I've seen fMRI's of people listening to music and the brain lights up like crazy but I'm curious how different voices affect the brain. Anyway loved the video as always so great to see you enjoy it so much! Daybreak is such a beautiful song about such an awful event (there's a Gloria Wu video explaining it and also showing Dimash sing it when he was sick etc if you want to see that) essentially a child witnessed his parents die in a cable car accident where they managed to push him to safety just before it fell, 14 people died that day. Intense music wouldn't necessarily go with such a sad song by I think it works brilliantly to portray the child's desperation. Again, great video, look forward to the next!

I think there is nothing wrong with showing off and demonstrating his capabilities. He should not hide them because they are so beautiful and he should delight people with the emotion and passion with which he sings. This is precisely the purpose of music, of art and the good artist. And Dimash is a collection of everything beautiful. Absolutely full package. He is the perfect performer.

Nice reaction. I do not need the words if Dimash sings he takes you on a journey. It is a sad story about a little boy who was rescued from a cable car. The cable car crashed. 14 people were killed including the boy's father and mother. In the song he describes the last time seeing his father and his mother. He wants to give them a beautiful garden. In the song he states that he was left in a strange world and possibly dangers in the future. This song was written to commemorate the heroic act of the parents. The writer Han Hong eventually adopted the boy. Greetings from Amsterdam.

Hi Valerie....You are correct in how Dimash sings...I mean he has often said that he is not concerned about how high he can sing but, how he can relate the song to the audience. Yes, he is very humble and as we know the music is his life. If you go to Gloria Wu's channel you can see Dimash talking about this song that he heard when he was younger and how he wanted to sing it badly. The back story is sad...a couple and their young child aged 2 I believe were on a cable car and the wires broke and the Dad lifted his son to safety but, the parents perished. The woman who wrote this song ( after she heard about the accident ) also adopted the young boy. There is so much good in this world!! But, the words to the song are heartbreaking. Thank you for your reaction and hope to see you soon. Peace and Love Always....

Something I find interesting about this performance is that it's not only an incredible song that shows his abilities and presence, but it ALSO includes him slipping up at the beginning and shows how professionally he handles it. If you doubt me, watch it back and before the song really starts, while he's walking across the stage toward our left, he hums a little and then STARTS SINGING A LINE FROM THE PRE-CHORUS in his light, floaty voice before trailing off and dropping his mic hand. THEN he starts the actual song in his low voice. I had to watch it a few times to even believe it was there, he covers it so smoothly, but his body language definitely conveys a mistake- which he promptly forgets ever happened, without showing any sign on his face, and because he doesn't remember it, the audience doesn't remember it, and it's almost like it never happened. (Also acts as evidence he's not lip-syncing as he's sometimes accused of.)
@DarthRayj
@DarthRayj 4 жыл бұрын
He starts the early line at 0:55, stops in less than a second, and the actual song starts about 1:06.

This just became my favourite vocal coach reaction to dimash. Some vocal coaches get too technical (I get that, know THAT is the point of a vocal coach analyzing dimash's vocals), many forget to actually enjoy the music, many forget to talk about how well he conveys emotions, how he tells us stories through his songs. Many coaches kinda overlook his young age, they go "oh he's doing this, ok he's doing this now, so that's how he's doing this" and etc etc, but they forget that he's only 26, maybe give him credit for being so great at this age. Just imagine how good he'd be in a few more years, is that even possible? To be better than he already is. He is perfection. Anyways, moving on, most vocal coaches don't even talk about his stage presence or his demeanor. He always sings with so much passion, like the songs are very personal to him. I adore him. I ADORE him. I hope you'll keep listening and reacting to our boy, his new song kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7SboqmUksi1j6c.html is out

You are right about Dimash. He can even do a lot more then you did watch. Since you like his songs from the gerne popera and opera i advise to some more of that gernre but Dimash likes more music genres and beside that he plays at least 8 instruments, he can dance, sings in 12 languages and is a songwriter. The perfect song to react to next is from episode 4 of the Chinese tvshow called "I am a singer" from 2017. Dimash - Autumn strong kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gdOZZcaHztDIfaM.html (No need to turn on subtitles because they are allready in the video.) And i know you don't whant to miss this so watch for yourself the backgroundstory's of SOS, (It has 2.) Daybreak and Autumn strong on the channel of Gloria Wu. (Turn on the subtitles in the settings of the videos.) And he diva dance (Shenzhen) because it's sad you did not hear Dimash sing really high. 😁 And last SOS (Slavic bazaar) because that's a better and less show off version then the one from Ï am a singer" 2017. (Showing off in a singing competition is good.)

This is a true story. In 1999 there was a train accident in China and the story is the little boy worried he will not see his parents and they save him but they do not survive. He is wondering how he will survive and if he has to build a Garden in their honor and his Mother comes to him in a dream and tells him to be strong. The singer Han Hong heats this story band she wrote this song, she sang it on THE SINGER & at one point she & Dimash did sing it together, she was in the audience when he sang it on THE SINGER 2017. Han adopted the boy and he was at one of the performances. Bastau is one of the best performances of this song which is being told from the perspective of the little boy who was saved by his parents. (There May be an English subtitles version on Gloria Wu’s KZfaq channel ) Please do more Dimash! I love your reactions as you beautifully explain the vocal technique Dimash is using and so smoothly, no breaks or cracks between Registers. I know that is hard to do. I had a friend who sang Opera and she explained a lot of the techniques she had to do. (Sorry this is so long) Please check out Dimash in 2019 Sochi NEW WAVE. You may have done some of the songs he sang there but they are some of the best versions. Thank you for reacting to Dimash and please check out Hua Chenyu!!! He is more of every style in one song and more Rock and I cannot stop listening to him and I am 66!! Gloria Wu has English subtitles on his songs, he has done huge Arena Concerts, he will do 3 in a row and each concert is different. He is an Alien & his fans are Martians. He has a short video (about 1/2 hour) Quasimodo’s Gift. It has a lot of deep subject matter and many of his songs do as his childhood was very different from Dimash. He looks nerdy in 2013 but really worked on his vocal performances to hoe he sounds now. He has great versions on THE SINGER 2018. He has 3 concerts in Shenzhen this November and they sold out in 5 seconds! Bo’an May be larger than 50,000+. Thank you again! 🎼🎶💕💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

You said this is new for you, so it maybe in place to explain shortly the very sad Chinese lyrics of the song. The lyrics are based on a fact. They are the words and thoughts of a five-year old boy who is about to see his mama and papa die. There was a cable car accident in China. The car was designed for 11 people but its load was 32, and the cable broke sending the passenger into an abyss. There was only one survivor, the five-year old boy. He addresses his last words to his soon-to-die parents. "And the sun is rising." It is daybreak. The boy was later adopted by the composer and first performer of the song, Han Hong. The composer and the boy were invited to and attended Dimash's first performance of this song at the "Singer 2017" competition.

I like your reaction! You speak very clearly, and you don’t interrupt constantly like the other reactors. Your gestures say a lot about how amazing Dimash is! First time to see you, and subscribed! For your viewers, Dimash will be in New York this coming October 26 as a guest of Russian composer Igor Krotoy. He will be back on December. 10 for his solo concert. Both concerts will be at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Concert tickets are sold by Ticketmasters.com.
