For such a young girl her singing takes my breath away. The emotion, textures and colors that she exudes in addition to her ability to bare her soul with every note makes me think that she has the unique ability to channel the greats that have passed on. She has genius level abilities.

The 'bye' at the end makes me melt instantly. :) There are so many singers who practise and practise in order to sing a song as perfect as possible and it just doesn't come across. This young Norwegian girl, even at her young age, the feelings, rhythm, timing, English language, it is all so natural to her. Years ago when i saw her performance on 'Norway got talent' i was in complete awe!

It's not possible that she gets this in a normal way. There must be something else in her that the world never seen.....

She was only twelve here, but I think she'd already been singing for about thirty years.

Not saying I am necessarily right, but the only way I can read the lyrics of this song is that they are written from the point of view of a prisoner, a young beer drinking, hard partying, hard fighting thug who landed a sentence of some length for some thoughtless violence or drugs. "I miss the air", "look at the sky, not just the floor", etc., all make sense if they represent the feelings of someone who is incarcerated. The genius of Adele is that she made it so heartfelt, so real, that you overlook the incongruity of her singing those lyrics. Then, when Angelina comes along and tests her lowest register and sings every word with such a textured sound and so much feeling, it's just all the more remarkable. The fact that these two can sing a song that is so obviously from a hooligan's point of view just makes the point that songs are all about feelings, not facts or logic, and great singers can make songs their own.

She doesn't just sing, she exudes with compelling emotion that her audience can feel in more ways than one, she seldom belts to get attention but simply sings with spell-binding feeling, almost hypnotic, you don't want the song to end...that's how i'm awed with her songs...

I love these living room performances with Ivan. It's always amazing to hear that deep mature voice come out of this young girl after she gives her little smile, and then waves and says "bye bye!" at the end. Some of these are deeply emotional, like her tribute to her grandfather after he died.

She is on top of the world now, after that AGT performance, and the video gone viral. She took an iconic rock song and reshaped it into her quiet love ballad. She started a cappella, and grabbed the whole theatre from the first note. You could hear a hairpin drop. Just to have the guts. And the creativity. It's more than a song, it's a statement. She probably won't win, there is always a dog that can paint or something that will win the circus. But she has presented herself for the world, and that was the purpose. Billboard wrote about it in the article "The 13 most important things that happened in music this week". I guess a talent show never got that headline before :)

When you need to interrupt a song to comment you always do so where it least disturbs the musical flow. Your comments are always interesting and very informative especially to a nonprofessional like myself. I was captivated by Angelina from the first note I ever heard her sing. I have listened to and downloaded everything I have ever found from her including interviews, performances, rehearsals even a walk on performance by Angelina on a Netflix original drama. Angelina is simply beyond my ability to fully comprehend or explain. Her effect on me has been profound. I think she has been sent to us by God to be a healing Angel for our souls. Angelina is such a beautiful person in every way God intended us to be. I too am somewhat disappointed? Disturbed? There's a video out there putting this version side by side with Adele, and I swear Angelina sounds better. It is RARE that a cover of a song by someone that is already world class, gets a cover that is better than the original, but I honestly prefer this to Adele's original. And that's not to take anything away from Adele - she is wonderful. It's just that Angelina is one in a billion.

So good to see and hear another Angelina reaction from you, Valerie. I love the "can't be taught, must be caught", analysis. No one can really figure out how she can wring so much emotion from her performances; it's almost mythical. This song makes me tear up every time, and I've seen/heard it at least 50 times. And she's reading the lyrics part of the time. Then she smiles and waves bye like nothing happened. It's almost like she's this incredible actor who rehearses the part and then nails the performance. Then goes back to living her regular life. I feel the same as you about the Simon Cowell mill. But you really need to see and hear what she did on that show. INCREDIBLE! She just blew everyone away with her special arrangement of that iconic rock song. She turned it into, for me, a song about how lost love can crush the will to live. I'm not really into music, but I can't put her voice away. There is something unique about her and how she sing with such feelings. I've to admit that I have become completely addicted. Her story, for instance that she was singing some tunes she had heard- at age of one and a half, may offer some explanations...Only an extreme case of natural talent would do that, right?? A number of her performances puzzles me, even after hearing these songs so many times, I still just shake my head, and accept that I will never ever figure out why I thousands of times find myself brought to tears.

Hi Valerie, thanks to KZfaq that we can find all these wonderful singers from all around the world. I have loved watching Angelina Jordan's journey since she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. Her voice is so unique. Old soul indeed. I know your dislike of the Simon Cowell franchises. I used to watch all the got talent, the voice, x factor shows. But I haven't for a few seasons now. I've gotten sick of all the judges drama's. It seems more important than the talents nowadays. Of course, only a few of the winners of these shows. Seem to stick around. Most you never hear of again. Not just for the name coincidence - and the obvious quality of her cover of Amy W. - but the video being made in the beach with Angelina and her sister shows what you may only guess until now, she is still a girl in her 12 yo by then playing as any other of same age would do. So, it doesn’t answer the question how is this all possible, being the kid and the much older singer at the same time. Children feel strong emotions, including missing their mothers. What they usually lack is the behavior expressing these feelings. Angelina became obsessed with listening to jazz singers as early as 1 1/2 (by her own report). That is when children learn to speak by imitating the sounds they hear, so by the time she sang "A Million Years Ago" she already had many years experience listening to and "speaking" jazz. How blessed we all are to be in her audience.

Hah! she's already grown far beyond shows like AGT. This was no more than a p.r. move to promote the new album she's about to drop. If she were to win I'm sure she'd love it, but that's really just icing on the cake for her. It's that name recognition that she's really after here, as far as I can tell. Now when the album drops it'll be: "Hey, that's Angelina Jordan, I saw her on AGT!" instead of: "Angelina Jordan, who's that?". She's already quite famous in Europe and Asia and all over the internet, as the billion plus views she's already had shows, it's just America that's a bit behind the times, and this appearance will change that. It's a big and important market for her, and this is a brilliant move on her part. On a separate note, I love the connection you make between music and spirituality. In my early teens my life path was headed either straight to a prison cell or a violent and early end, but then I discovered a slight penchant for playing music and singing, and the connections I made through that turned my entire life around. I'm in my seventies now, happy, content, and well retired, and if it weren't for music I'd have never made it here. Music and spirituality are completely intertwined, and the one leads to the other and will make any life better for it.

Five years ago I thought that only I discovered this Angel in Poland;) What can I write here: a wonderful, brilliant child, singing jazz, now a 14-year-old young lady :) I am addicted, I listen to everything that is on the network many times and, being already also after 60, I would like to have time to look at the development of her genius. I think she is only doing this so more people get to discover her. Its really difficult for an artist from Norway to break through in USA. So even if she has many followers here on You Tube its not enough to build a career.
