Ana Gabriel, I grew up listening to her with my mom. Didn't appreciate it at the time but now, wow!! all this music takes me back to my childhoold years. Shes from Chinese descendency. I believe her parents migrated to Mexico from China around WW2 somewhere around there.

The little nuances in her voice that she does are like the sprinkles on a sundae. The voice is rich, complex, absolutely wonderful, and so the little things are a treat. Like at 5:50 when she says "con tu luuuuuz" (with your liiiiight), that little sudden raise in her voice at the end of "luz". I love that. :)

Thank you for reacting to Ana Gabriel! One of my longtime favorite Mexican singers. You hit the nail right on the head by stating several times that she sings with lots of emotion. I have seen her live around a handful of times and to this date still remember my first Ana concert. When she took the stage and began singing I literally could feel her voice penetrating my body. It was a surreal feeling that you cannot obtain solely by listening to her via radio/tv. Looking forward to future Ana reviews. :-D
