It's not only his mesmerizing voice, it's the way he clearly enunciates words. He completes his consonants! The audience was pulled from the streets for the show, it wasn't a ticketed event.

He truly is untouchable. With all the levels he had, there has been no one like him on the stage. Every concert (and we're talking well over 1,000) from '68-'77) the same aura was there. So authentic, genuine...just straight up natural. He stands alone at the top. PEACE!

I was born in '67, so all I could see about him was in movies, but I remember I was in love with him even at such early age, I was about 5 years when I saw his first movie. I remember telling my mom "he is my boyfriend!" 😅😂. He was officially my first love. Then recently, I rediscover his music and I am thrilled again with his majestic voice . The King of Rock & Roll! 👑FOREVER!

Elvis was one of the most beautiful men that ever walked the earth. He certainly looked fantastic in 1968. Almost unbelievable how his health and his looks would deteriorate in 9 short years.

Andy, you have to watch Trying to Get Back to You (also in this 68 special) - another gritty, soulful Elvis with emotion followed by followed by Memories with a very different, beautiful voice and vibrato. It doesn't get any better than Elvis and this special. He was doing "unplugged" twenty years before it hit. So ahead of his time. Love, love, love that voice - the fact that he's gorgeous is just a visual bonus.

In that TV show you could already hear, live, the power, darkness, body, that Elvis Presley's voice had gained since his first appearance on TV in 1956. His dramatic baritone voice became heavier and more powerful without losing the velvet softness in the ballads. Elvis Presley returned to the rock singing style of the 50s but not for long. Little by little he changed his style of singing, and this change will be confirmed in 1972 and he will maintain that style of singing until his last shows in 1977.

Elvis was and still is one of the greatest singers and entertainers of all time. His legacy is largely in part of that awesome voice! Trying to Get to You, One Night with You, Baby What you Want Me to do, If I can Dream, Heartbreak Hotel, Where Could I Go are all a few to start with from the 68. From later concerts, try out How Great thou Art from 72 and 77, Bridge Over Troubled Water live, and What Now My Love from 73 Aloha.

Like J.D. Sumner said......there was not a Better person to walk this Earth besides Jesus himself. It is so True! He gave and gave and gave. He loved to make people happy. His moves were mostly from the beat of the music more so than his karate moves.....that came later. If I would have been sitting on that stage I'm sorry but it would take a herd of wild horses to get me off of him!!!🤣🤣 I will Always love Elvis til the day I die ♥️
