Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole! These gentlemen are known as "the Theater Kids of Acapella" and they live up to the name. They have been together since 1997, with only two original members remaining. The man who spoke at the end is a former member who returned as a feature and to honor Rek (he and two other members went to high school with Rek). Overall the group is currently as follows: ~ Eli (pronounced El-e) Jacobson - INCREDIBLE Tenor (that can also sing bass), also does most lighting for videos. In addition, he does arrange from time to time. Not OG member but has been in the band since 2010. He WILL blow your mind. You've been warned. ~ Cesar De La Rosa - Baritone/Tenor 2, entertainer extraordinar. He works with many other bands (both in and out of Disney in Orlando) so he is always busy when not with Voiceplay. His acting and how he fits into every role is incredible. His voice has character, range and versatility, but naturally his voice is butter soft. “Took” J.None’s spot when he went to the Navy in 2021. ~ Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castellucci - Bass, Most arrangements, some production, sound editing, costume design, musician, animal whisperer, chef (not joking, he's ridiculous), stupidly talented human. Also has an INCREDIBLE solo channel (which both Layne and Eli assist with videos for from time to time). His beautiful wife Kathy is also a big part of what makes Voiceplay and especially his solo channel, so incredible, you will see her names in credits as well and she's always BTS. Geoff is one of two remaining OG members, circa 1997. ~ Layne Stein - Vocal Percussion, Baritone and Bass backup, plays most of the instruments (as does Geoff) and splits most arranging with Geoff (and some Eli). Owns Pattycake Studios (they also have a channel!) with another former Voiceplay member, (Tony Wakim). Lots of the music videos are shot at Pattycake (and much of Geoff’s solo stuff). So funny, so sweet, so unbelievably talented. Two of two remaining OG members, circa 1997. ~ J.None - former member/active collaborator, basically part time (and we all hope returning full time some day). Joined in 2018 and left for the Navy Band in 2021, but has hinted at coming back not being out of the question. Hilarious human, especially when you get him and Layne together 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕(

Okay, I've got to tell you something about Voiceplay fans, which is: we LOVE stuff like this. We love watching someone roll up, not sure what to expect, and get blown away by one of our favorites. We love watching someone go, "WHAT was that bass note???" (That was Geoff!) We love watching someone go, "Good God, that guy could sing for a metal band!" (That's Eli!) We love seeing people discover our favorite group. If you love video games, there are several ones you could check out here. "The Dragonborn Comes" from Skyrim is a lovely tribute to that game, and I have seen fans absolutely lose it on that particular song. "Sleeping In The Cold Below" is a new one from the game Warframe, and while I personally know nothing about the game, I love the song. "Valhalla Calling" is an especial favorite of mine. And in case you've played Red Dead Redemption, you should know that Geoff Castellucci (the long haired guy with the REALLY DEEP voice) released a cover of "Unshaken" from that game where he sings four parts. It's not acapella, he uses instruments, but his solo stuff is really good. Basically, click around and see what looks interesting to you, and we'll definitely watch it!

I agree with the below. They have a few gaming covers (Sleeping in the Cold Below, Critical Role, Dragonborn Comes, ACA Top 10 Video Games) but they cover such a wide variety of songs that you're sure to find more that you enjoy. If you want to hear more of Geoff's (pronounced Jeff) low notes, recommend Valhalla Calling or even Nothing Else Matters (though you'll hear it in most of their songs). They are the theater kids of Acapella and aren't afraid of letting their nerd side shine! Enjoy the journey!

I am very old and not a gamer. It was amazing to hear reactors talking about the way Halo brought them together. If yuo'll notice in the comments, Halo and the composer of the theme, Marty O'Donnell both left praise to Voiceplay. Voiceplay has done several gaming themes, tons of Disney tunes, they own Halloween. I'll recommend Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Subscribed in antiipation of more Voiceplay!

Welcome to the Voiceplay family!! You are in for a wild ride. This was a great entry point into the rabbit hole that is Voiceplay. The rabbit hole is quite deep. So great recommendations next are the Voiceplay versions of .... The bass is Geoff Castellucci, the beat boxer is Layne Stein, the bald tenor is Eli (pronounced Ellie not E-Lie), and Cesar was the one doing the crazy baritone sounds twice during this video. They did Warrior from League of Legends, Sleeping In The Cold Below from Warframe, Dragonborn from Skyrim, and a tune called Valhalla Calling that was inspired by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. And they’ve covered other things from rock to Disney tunes. I’d encourage you to keep exploring their stuff. They have a lot of talent and make some very fun stuff. At least go through their other video game stuff. 😊. Start with Valhalla Calling or Dragonborn. I think you’ll love those.

loved your reaction! something that might be cool to know is Scott Porter, the guy who spoke at the end, is also the voice of Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok, if you've ever played that series before. but voiceplay is by far my favorite accapella group and their bass, Geoff Castellucci, is an absolutely incredible solo artist as well, who does his own videos too. If you like lord of the rings and the hobbit series, he has far over the misty mountains cold and i see fire covers which are phenomenal. Also, anything halloween from him is 10/10, like Jack's Lament. He does a halloween video every year, so if you end up checking his stuff out and liking it, he'll always be sure to give you a really cool video for halloween each year.

Another great game related song by Voiceplay would be Skyrim's The Dragonborn Comes. A great song to start with on Home Free would be Man of Constant Sorrow. That opening sound you played over and over, was from the Bass singer Geoff Castellucci, who also has some awesome solo content. A great place to start there would be Sixteen Tons.

Quick thought for you, Tom. I think you would benefit greatly from balancing your audio output of your microphone. The way it was in this video, your voice was consistently clipping to the point where you sounded as if you were on speakerphone. Given that this is the first of you videos I have come across, if that is intentional, pay me no mind.
