I'll admit Geoff's my favorite. But truth be told, VoicePlay magic would not work if you removed any of the members! You should've played the comment by Scott at the end. It's very touching!

Geoff’s crazy bass is part of Voiceplay’s brand. I have no doubt that all of them would be very successful on their own, but yeah, somehow the combo is greater than the parts.

I used to think that Geoff and Layne were the two pillars without which the group could not exist at the same qualitative level. Geoff is obvious, Layne is doing incredible magic in the background. And again, this is only my opinion, Layne is the only one who frequently brings a sense of humor to the job. Their epics are mind-boggling, but if they only do epics, sooner or later I will be bored. (Who commented that Warrior is when they realized how sexy they all were when they smeared dirt on their faces? Funny, but true.) When you turn your attention from the epics, there's always a place where humor sells the overall performance. Everyone likes to smile. (Layne isn't afraid of slapstick, either, their Boy Bands in 5 minutes is filled with his moments. And while slapstick isn't my favorite form of humor, one of the funniest bits in anything they've done is in Boy Bands when Layne whips off his dickey perfectly in time to the beat. Understated but so funny.) Anyway, I'm rapidly changing my mind to include Eli with Geoff and Layne. The eye he brings to lighting, sets, special effects has really added a powerful new layer. And I hope he arranges again... I still think that Eleanor Rigby is one of their most underappreciated songs. (And his vocal strengths and flexibility with tone goes without saying. He's a monster.)

Good reaction, although I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t keep going through the dedication. That could give you some insight into the origins of the group and what this song meant to them. By the way, my black cat was hanging over my shoulder for this one and wouldn’t have minded a glimpse of your cat!

With VoicePlay it's a mistake to be in a hurry to end the video. It's always worth staying a couple of minutes to watch their outros. There is often something interesting there. In this case it was a lovely explanation as to why they did this. And a dedication to a former colleague who passed last year.

If you like the Charismatic Voice, she did an analysis and reaction to this, but she also had the composer on to help her. That was a neat review.

Dude, you screwed up. One thing you have to learn with VoicePlay, Home Free, and their members away from their group: Do not end your reaction until the credits/list of supporters start to roll. There is often a message or dedication or thank you after the music is over. Home Free's Austin Brown's Ain't No Sunshine and this one to name two. Scott Porter, the guy wearing the short sleeves, is one of the founding members of VoicePlay before it was called VoicePlay and left some time ago to go into acting. (He was in Friday Night Lights.) He was the featured player here and went back to his old band for a reason, which you need to watch the end of the video to find out. PTX lost a step when AVI left. As good as Matt is, they needed Avi to balance Mitch. They are a really great group, but were better with Avi (an opera trained basso profundo and along with Kevin trained in composition.) PTX is built around Mitch and his unique voice. VP is built around Geoff and his unique voice. Home Free is the most balanced, but Tim Foust and Austin Brown are their special voices. All 3 groups have great, and very different, styles.
