The fellow singing The Phantom is Tony Wakim, former baritone for VoicePlay. He is the co-owner of Pattycake Productions with Layne, and often shows up in the credits on VoicePlay videos for assisting with costuming or directing. It's great that he's still involved with the group!

You'll see Tony Wakim on a number of earlier videos, you can tell him by the amazing sparkling eyes. When he left to join Layne at Pattycake it took themtwo years to find a replacement in J,None.

If you do Road Trip from their stint on Sing-Off, you'll see Tony without the mask and get a kick out of the video. Make sure it's the 9 Mil one - the other 2 are tours done on people's phones. By the way, I really enjoyed having you both on for the reactions. I watch both of your reactions and you two together is greater than the sum of your parts!

LOL. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who sometimes gets weepy when something is really good. You’re right, VP’s style and production values have reached new heights since then, even tho this was really good. I’d love to see them revisit Phantom now. Hey, Ashley, I’m also a POTO geek. I got to see Michael Crawford in concert many years ago and just fell in love with his voice. Funny thing-when the movie came out I was initially disappointed with Gerard Butler’s singing because it was really more “rock” than opera, BUT as the movie went along it mattered less and less. Come to find out, ALW originally intended that to be more of a rocker part (somewhere on KZfaq there’s a really early video with a very young Sarah Brightman and Steve Harley). So anyway, I really liked the movie as well. Which is fortunate because if I hadn’t decided I liked Gerard Butler I’d have completely missed 300. Anyway, thanks for the blast from the past. If you watch their video of the song "Just Sing" with the captions, you willsee everyone they have collaborated with, and some of them are former members, and you will be up to date...>^^

This was easily the best thing they did while Tony was still with them. VP has improved a lot over the years in general, but this was very much a high point at the time.
