I was in Vietnam 1968 - 1969. Served with the 82nd Abn 3rd Bragade 2nd Bn in Hue - Phu Bai attached to the 101st Abn Camp Eagle 1968 and moved to Phu Loi 1969. Tan Son Nhut was our forward area and Phu Loi was our rear area. Worked in Corridor D.

I was born in 1978 so this was before my time. All the kids growing up looked up to the men who served in Vietnam. It angers me to hear how they were treated. To the men who served, please know there's a generation who respect and revere you. These men are heroes. Thank you so for your service.

I've know Stu for over 50 years now. He is an amazing guy. My brother-in-law, Pete, escorted Stu's brother, Steve back home. So grateful for Stu and others service. Glad he has the opportunity to tell his story. No parades for these vets when they came home. What a state our country was in then. Still to this day, he is involved in many ways assisting others in life. Too young to serve then, but my brother was Vietnam Era Vet, and I completed 22 years when it was my time.

Love these interviews. I am the son of a Vietnam vet. It is so important to praise and remember these brave men. We love all our vets.

I went in the army, February 1969 to want to Vietnam late December 69 101st airborne division, we had a few of you guys assigned to us from the 82nd airborne division

Welcome home brother. My role was running wire either on the ground or from pole to pole. Seven man crew, armed to the teeth. Always alert, caught mostly sniper fire when in the bush or on a pole. Many grunts said they wouldn't want my job nor would I want theirs. We had two jobs. Fought our way in, ran our wire, fought our way out. Not everyday but who knew when. No one to call on for help. Couldn't dwell on it or I'd go crazy like everyone else. Glad those days are over. Never thought I'd get out alive.

Like Stuart my father was in the 82nd, 62-66, he didn't go to Vietnam but was in the Dominican in 65. Growing up around men like this was an awesome experience that was humbling while in their presence. They were men to look up to. This video was great and demonstrates what the song American Soldier is all about in many ways!

I would love to sit down and have a beer with Stuart. Not to talk about Viet Nam but because he seems like a genuinely nice guy. God Bless you Stuart.

I was born in '56, graduated high school in '75. Missed that war by a couple years. Might sound crazy but that is one of my life's regrets. My hat is off to all those who served over there.

I was a grunt in Vietnam 1971. Same story here. Served up near DMZ and near DaNang.

Served with Stuart during his time with the 25th ID. Third Herd, C/3/22nd. When it came to reliability, heroism and attitude he checked all the boxes. One of the best dudes I’ve ever known. Stu was always upbeat and was good for our morale. Since Vietnam we’ve been able to get together with him and his son Spencer at a few company reunions. He’s still the life of the party! I really really liked what I heard from this video. He saw action and scerficted alot and saw more than most in combat. A true simble of all the men and women that went thru the same. It is sad there are so many young Americans that have no IDEA how much was sacrificed by our troops and family members to allow them to live in America. I pray they get the message that we support our government however us Americans say how we should be treated!

It really takes balls to return to a place that was your death trap, then going back as a complete neutral object. Still with the hair on the back of your neck standing tall. Fortunately the people of Vietnam have no ill feelings, even though you’re still in a state of apprehension. It’s hard to remember these aren’t the same people you knew as the enemy. I’m would think it would do a lot for a soldier upon returning to a place of death and realizing that they aren’t even thinking of that. They are a very loving people, even though when it’s time to come to call for their country the attitude would probably change. I’m definitely glad this man went back, for himself and his country. God bless this man as he already has during combat. I have nothing but respect for anyone that has served his/her country. Whether he was in combat or those that played a support aspect of the war. So many people think that every soldier that went overseas was in combat, I’m not sure of the numbers, % percentage but I think it was two thirds support to one third soldiers in combat. The reason I know this is because my father fought in the Korean War. My neighbor would tell me about running tankers 24/7 of water to the front. He said what he was fighting was the cold from freezing the water before he could get it to the men. Him and my father were friends from Allapattah Florida ( Miami). He told me that he would be able to see my father who was in combat once or twice a month and he would relay messages to my Grand parents letting them know that he saw and spoke to my father. The point is nothing happens if there is no support to the troops, food water ammunition and one of the very important things was mail. Sorry to make such a rant but I just wanted to make a point that there is no army without a support system, I just took the long way around. Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸

There is not a day that I don't think of Vietnam spent 27 mo. 18 days there chewing some of the same dirt as Stuart did ,WELCOME HOME BROTHER.

A great interview and fantastic story of a brave Vietnam Vet. Welcome home from a fellow Vietnam Vet. Perhaps sometime you can interview some us who served in the support area of the war, not always were we safe.
