Shalai and Hallar is a good synergy with this commander. When the counters Voja makes are put on the creatures, Shalai and Hallar will be throwing damage at opponents.

I don't think you need to go that all in with elves and wolves. Just build it as a stax deck, and the commander is there to actually end the games with damage.

I may go stax with this. Voja is really strong in casual. I feel stax would make it higher power level on the casual spectrum.

Gotta wake up my casual little cousins, it's not everyday you can make a functional wolf commander. On a more serious notes, I agree with every points you made. You somewhat have to be creative with Naya to make something consisyent and it at least gives a lot of identity to your deck and a straightforward build idea which is always good for the semi competitive tables out there.

As someone who has been actively brewing and working on this list for cedh, it definitely only functions as a stax beatdown list similar to jetmir. In that sense, it functions better than jetmir since the pumps not only last without commander in play, but continue to build on themselves. The way voja punps the board also helps get arpund bowmasters, unlike jetmir eho only pumps power. The best way ive found to play the list is to aggressively tutor for either roaming throne and maskwood nexus. It can easily push out enough damage and relevant stax pieces to pressure life totals and warp the board state

Voja seems most similar to Ellivere to me. Both pump creatures and draw. Voja gets red over Ellivere, but the requirement to play elves/wolves instead of the evasive stax pieces and interaction seems bad. I much rather play Ellivere than Voja in a competitive environment.

I have to say I think Ellivere is the stronger one.

@@cedhtv Having played both quite a bit I've been finding myself liking Voja a lot more. It is able to close out games faster and is in better colors at the cost of drawing less cards in the command zone, which is supplemented by being able to run better card advantage engines in the 99 as a Naya list. I'd recommend looking at it not as an elfball/wolves/shapeshifter deck (which I cut all but the best of) and look at it as hard stax list with, in the command zone: card advantage, a beatstick, incidental incrimental board presence from mana dorks, and a combo finisher with mirror entity or shields of velis vel. You can also run better backup plans like A+B combos or pivoting to basically just playing Winota. I've had many games where I've won without touching the commander, which is not something Ellivere is really capable of doing.

@@Some_Context I agree, voja feels really good and can be a win con in itself with a little support, letting you focus on other stuff. We played a 5 player game today. i threw together Voja this morning. Basically whatever elves i had in my bulk and whatever r/w/g stuff i had in my binder or bulk box that worked. Im talking angels that have some okay synergies, demigods, gods etc. had a sub focus on generating tokens with spells, enchantments and creatures. so not full tribal as youd expect. But man it was consistent. have a couple elves out to ramp, bring out Voja. drop tokens next turn and swing voja. increasing my board state by a lot. I had some janky wins too, it was fun to play. When i say i threw in whatever im talking i put in city on fire that let me win the 5 person game on turn 7 wiping the table. Dropping it down let me swing 42 volja at someone and clear the rest of the pod with the tokens. just silly random cards like that that wouldnt normally go in this type of deck.

Would this Commander be better than Ezuri, Renegade Leader? I've been running Ezuri for a long time now, and I like the fact that he can regen other elves for G and gives trample to truly grant overrun, but he is only mono-Green. But, then again, mono-Green isn't a bad place to be if you want to play Elfball? I know Marwyn can be legit, but she's more Elf combo and would thus be discouraged at my table.

This is more related to your Kenrith video a few days ago, but do you think you could make a video that sorts commanders based on cards they perform well with? Basically, which commanders are better with the value engine cards like Talion and Opposition Agent, which commanders are better with the turbo cards like Ad Nauseum and Underworld Breach, and maybe a category for stax as well (although it seems pretty evident that stax is unviable in tournament cEDH)?

If this card said human instead of elf it would be the new jetmir for cedh. I know jetmir struggles but it is a fun deck. The only can see it work is playing the stax plan and put ways to make every creatures every creature type. But the moment you do that you are playing multiple bad cards that are easy to interact. It is a stupidly strong effect that lacks support in our format. But it looks like the ultimate Timmy card. You don't even need to throw money towards the deck. Just get all the elves and inexpensive protection spells throw them in a deck and call it a day. Probably it will cost less than 100 euros

oh 100%! Wolfs is the part that makes that commander struggle.
