I always thought Volk was a little overrated. He only defended the title against 2 people but when I saw this fight and how badly he blew Max out of the water I changed my mind. Rodriguez is about to get an Ortega level beat down.

I was in disbelief at what he was doing to Holloway, it was some fucking matrix shit. Max looked completely devoid of any fighting chance as the rounds go on, just unbelievable knowing how incredible of a boxer that man is.

It also might just be Volk knowing he got the win in the bag and just had to coast and not get finished to get over the line.

@@horseaphoenix1016 Yeah, I did not see it live either. He did almost win the 4th of 5th, I cant quite remember, but he did not and lost every round. I do not understand how volk improved THAT much. Tbf it really looked like he was feeling himself more than normal. It was his best performance imo and if they fought again, I see volk winning, but I think Max would do better...aslong as they both were on the same level mentally. Regardless, he is 3-0 vs. max, which is crazy, but the first two were wars, so I wouldn't mind seeing them fight again, but Max would have to prove he belongs

@@creatorcomedy1450tbh the first fight was also a 50-45 so he figured out Max then but every round was decently competitive with a good lean to Volk in the scoring. The second fight max completely switched up his style to “Muay Thai Max” as Volk called him after that one and caught Volk a few times with his great adjustments. As a huge Volk fan I wouldn’t be mad if they gave that fight to max even tho Volk outlanded Max by a good amount the last 3 rounds it was an amazing fight and the third was just a beat down he barely got touched. Honest to god one of the greatest high level trilogies in MMA ever even though it’s officially 3-0 they’re all good fights.

I remember how in the post fight presser Volk said how USADA randomly woke him up at an odd hour right before the 2nd Max fight, it explains why he looked weird in that fight.

It's on Max to make sure he does whatever he has to so he brings his A game on fight night. But I don't think that third fight is an accurate representation of Max. In any case Volk is the rightful winner in this rivalry for the time being. But in the unlikely event they have a fourth fight in the future I would still pick Max

13:12 his strength and conditioning wasn’t the problem it’s the fact that max is 5’10 and doesn’t know how to throw a head kick at some one half his height. I was screaming at my tv for it and DC said it aswell max needed to throw more head kicks and set them up with his hands to beat volk. Idk how such a big technical error on max’s part was never addressed. ESPECIALLY WHEN HE LANDED ONE IN THEIR SECOMD FIGHT AND DROPPED VOLK WITH IT.

For Max Holloway to self proclaim himself to be the best boxer in the UFC and get whooped up by a tiny Volkanovski is embarrassing. Could’ve made easy work out of Volk if he used the jab and kept distance without having his head forward . SMH
