When it comes to electric cars, many of us aren't sure if 'now' is the right time. It all depends on where you live, how much of a commute you have and of course what you need from a car in general.
The Volkswagen e-up offers something very unique. A small 32kWh battery with a range of up to 312km (The WLTP figure is much lower, however we achieved 312km on a single charge).
The e-up! is based on the regular up which has been around for some time, however it has been modified to fit an electric motor, and a small battery. This means less resources have gone into the design of the car, and as it doesn't weigh a whole lot, it's also efficient to drive.
Generally speaking, an EV that can average around 15kWh/100km is pretty decent, however in the VW e-up! we averaged 9.8kWh/100km which is staggeringly efficient!
To drive it's relatively comfortable and more or less the exact same behind the wheel of a regular up!. It has cruise control, lane assist and even a mini reversing camera.
We hope you enjoy our review, and thanks for watching.
