I made my first Ring experience with a Golf 1 too. It was in1990 . My friend was strapped on with a Racing Harnes and holds a 2kg Camera@ while I was driving. You bring back nice memorys.

Right now im building my own House with Garage, and im trying to make the Garage as big as possible so that I have a lot of room to do the engine swap. Sadly, I dont have any mates who might help me... But im sure I can do this! Looking forward to talk with you about my Engine swap in the future!

Not to be too critical but in mechanics school, they taught us to only use alcohol based solvents for washing brake parts. I had a friend who replaced his Mk1 brakes and wheels with 15 inch Corrado units. The differences as remarkable

Hey brow here in Brasil this motor is the most used in dragrace, preparation and easier to found pieces and fix, i have a VW SANTANA, the chassis or plataforme is the same of Audi S2, but there is no quattro system, i wish i had have one, congratulations in your project and sorry for my english kkk

@@JunkVWs i already find the vw polo mk1, scirroco mk1, golf mk1 and mk2 and even the audi 50 also all share the good old EA827 engine that we like so much here in brazil ... here it has a right engine in the 2000cc drag race with 1400hp ....

That's a very nice car. Always liked the Golf, never quite got to own one though but came close once with a Mk1 Cabby but it was just too rough around the edges for the price he wanted. The dyno was interesting but for a 1.8 the power was less than I imagined, I guess the motor has good torque though? Maybe long stroke? Thank you for the video, good luck.

I have a Mk2 Golf myself, we're planning on doing and engine swap in it (it's a 1.3L now, and I have a 2.0 8v 2E which will hopefully go in). Keep up the good work, you're doing great! Thanks man! I'm running a weber 34 ich on both engines. It might be too small for the 1.8 tho so i'll probably buy a weber 32/34 DMTL in the future :)

If you want to upgrade your car here in brazil there are a lot of performance parts of this engine because it was produced since 80's untill 2013. Here in brazil it is called "MOTOR A.P" or "MOTOR ALTA POTÊNCIA".This name means:HIGH PERFORMANCE

Alfred Bailey 14x7 in the front, 14x7.5 in the rear. ET i dont know. No spacers used. Tires 195/45/14

You could have taken advantage of working on the front brakes to make this small upgrade: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bJ6eZLJ_m5iolac.html It's a relatively inexpensive upgrade, and to go to Nurburgring to track day it was better .
