The production value for this video is so great :"D Reminded me of how I was playing with Japanese students, ended up accidentally receiving a spike with my foot (the ball flew straight into it, I just barely moved) and sending it all the way to the other side of the court, where no one expected it~ One of the students was snickering like "oh, Now I see that you've read Haikyuu" pffft

I guess Noya's physique and agility is just a huge plus. But all things considered that was definitely 11/10 for rolling thunder (for including the yelling haha), 9/10 for foot save (but it's honestly a miracle that's too hard to recreate), 10/10 for double save (a successful 2nd save that a setter can undoubtedly follow up on), and the 10/10 back set and spike that actually got better and better. Noya really is a Guardian Deity for pulling all of these off in official match. 10/10 would want more recreations!

I think that Nishinoya's foot save is very athletic because he does an almost complete split. He says in the scene that the ball is too far out of reach of his hands, so he throws his foot and his body follows and that's why he manages to be almost flat to the ground and lift the ball up and not to the side. I think Nishinoya's skill comes from his amazing foot-work. I would love to see you try Asahi's Delayed Spike and Suna Rintaro's Cross Counter.
@TheDamien135
@TheDamien135 Жыл бұрын
Super agree! I was going to say I think they did a great job trying the foot save but in the clip from the show you can tell he is like 3/4ths a way it’s a split and I wouldn’t put it was nishinoya to be doing the spits on the reg

I actually pulled off a foot save in a game! I was the second touch though, came off my team mates arm heading down pretty fast, slid my foot out and got it with the outside/top edge of my foot. Went up into a pretty nice set for the middle too. Give me 1000 more tries and I doubt I could do it again though

Something to note on the foot save is that if you look closely Nishinoya is actually almost in a full split. I wonder if that lessons the angle enough to make it easier to get back up. Great video though it’s fun to see some great Haikyu saves being done IRL.
@immortals92
@immortals92 Жыл бұрын
Going in full split makes it reach further so it has more sense than just using one leg instead of using arm. What i mean, doing full split makes you go low and far in the same moment but trying to use your hand force you to lay down.

nishinoya is definitely cool! libero is the coolest position in my opinion. receing spike is satisfying! and im definitely satisfied when a more experience player (not professional okay) said that i should be trained as libero. i did received more spike with one hand. some guy always made a big deal out of it. but hey if its safe the ball, i wont listen. for now im taking some time away from sport, my spoiled knees screaming for rest. i wanna come back playing for fun when my body is all rested but first will start training streak first.

For the foot save, I think it would be more effective for really fast balls, the type that were spiked, for it to go up. Believe it or not we had a libero at my high school team who was incredible. I've seen her save multiple balls with her foot at really quick paced games we played. I've done it once too by reflex at a 2-man game we played for practice and it just happened in a flash when the ball was smacked down next to me but quite out of reach and would be too late if I had to turn and face the ball's direction and had to dive to that direction so my foot just snapped out of my body. It was an elevating awesome feeling. Haikyuu isn't that far off impossible. I'm thankful I got to play with amazing people that honestly, were quite as amazjng as the characters that's why I fell more in love with the show. It reminded me of them. We also had a crazy good setter. Genius af like oikawa for understanding us spikers and genius like kageyama for being ridiculously good. Like i swear. Could you imagine my shock when I saw her spike a toss from our libero. Insanity.
